New album/folder per day in gallery - Galaxy S6 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Is it possible to have the camera app automatically create new folder/album for every day and name it based on date created.
So when first photo in day is take new album is created and photos taken that day are organized in that folder/album, and next day new folder is created.
I know photos are sorted based on time taken and can easily create new albums in gallery app, but this would speed things and make photos more organized.

[CLOSED][Q] How does Fish Bowl Photo organize photos in folders

I am quite surprising that the original Gallery application doesn't come with a feature : Organize photos in folders.
Hence, I did a quick try on FishBowlPhoto. It is able to organize my photos in different folders.
Very soon, I realize that FishBowlPhoto organizes the photos, by moving them from original location (/sdcard/DCIM/Camera/*.jpg) to new location (/sdcard/FishBowlPhoto/bookcase/*.jpg).
I was expecting my original Gallery will be confuse, after FishBowlPhoto moves away few photos to different location.
However, to my surprise, Gallery still know which photos has been move to different location, and able to display the photos in bookcase category instead of original Camera category.
May I know what is the working mechanism behind FishBowlPhoto? That even it has moved away few photos, it will not make Gallery unable to locate the moved photos?
Please use the Q&A Forum for questions Thanks

An easy way to organize, sync and post all your fotos on a tablet?

Hi there,
I have the following scenario:
After taking pictures with my DSLR I want to plug in the SD-Card in my Asus TF101. Now I want to look at the pictures, organize the into different albums and automatically upload those albums to Dropbox. Additionally I want those albums to be created in Facebook.
I haven't found a way to do all of that in a usable way, especially with a UI for tablets.
Most Apps just take existing folders, but I haven't found one where you can just say "Take this, this and that picture, create a new album and name it like that".
Each album would be a folder containing the pictures. Afterwards I thought of letting the App "Folder Sync" do it's work, so that everything is in my Dropbox.
From there on I wanted ifttt or Wappawolf to create a album in Facebook named after the folder. But right now I can only tell them to create 1 Album and post all of my synced pictures there...
I would be very glad if you guys could help me out. I would prefer it if the cloud-service would be Dropbox, since I got 50GB, but if you got different proposals I am open too
Thanks a lot,
Rabenvogel

automatically organising photos by shoot date year/month

I sync my folders to a server nightly but over time the flat structure of the DCIM folder makes it hard to open and quickly find photos for a specific time.
So are there any techniques I can use to schedule moving and organizing of photos into shoot date folders eg I'd to save into folders based in a template ie [yyyy/mm-mmm] eg 2013/12-Dec, 2014/01-Jan ... 2014/02-Feb etc.. or just by Year and shoot date eg [yyyy/yyyy-mm-dd]
so if there isn't any off-the-shelf app, is there a API that triggers after photo taken so I can build a Android Service to scan and organise photos?

App request: automatically move newly created files from a folder (Camera) to another

I'm looking for an app to automatically move any file that appears on the SD card in DCIM/Camera to another folder, e.g. Photos/Unprocessed.
Why? Because I want my photos automatically backed up to Google Photos, but only from the folders I choose. And Camera is not one of those folders. However, Google Photos automatically forces you to back up the DCIM/Camera folder if you want automatic backups at all, which is really dumb:
If you take multiple shots of a scene and want to keep all but one, EVERY shot will waste storage and bandwidth being backed up to Google Photos. Normally I take a bunch of shots of a scene, then when I have a moment go through them and keep only one and move it to a folder it belongs to, e.g. Photos/MyDog. I want that one backed up, but not the others.
maybe I *never* want certain pics to be backed up in the cloud unencrypted, e.g. photos of tax statements or other sensitive docs
maybe there are people in the photo who didn't give me consent to back up their image in any cloud
maybe I don't want to waste time and data backing up a ****ton of pics I know I'll delete. Even if I set the sync to only happen when on Wi-Fi, it's just a stupid waste.
Note that I filed a request with the Google Photos team for this feature like half a year ago, but it fell on deaf ears, so the only solution I see is this: make an app that as soon as a file is created in DCIM/Camera (the folder Google Photos watches), it moves it to another folder, so Photos won't back it up.

Organize pictures on the go

Is there an app on android that you organize your pictures that you take and puts them directly on a dedicated folder. Example : I create a folder : vacation 2021 and from that moment every picture i take, it is put in album vacation 2021. I get home and unselect the album. A week later i create an album Fishing and every picture that day goes into Fishing and so on.
that would be an amazing app for me because now its a mess!!!!!!!!!!!!!
TX
No idea if there is a sp[ecific app, but it should be possible with Tasker or Automate. Basically you want to create a task with following flow:
IF file is created in {folder where your photos are saved} MOVE file to {desired folder}
When you want to use different album, you would need to edit this task.
Alternatively there are gallery apps that group pictures based on taken date, maybe that would solve your clutter?
