Feature request: Adding Subscene to online subtitle search. - MX Player

Hi,
I thank you for the amazing app.
Could add subscene.com as a search option for online subtitles. It is maybe the most famous subtitle site.
Thank you

subscene doesn't provide any public APIs to access its database. So, it's not possible.

How can I save network stream URLs by name?

Is there a way I can save and play network stream URLs by name without entering the URLs in the network stream box with the keyboard any time?
Thanks!
Not from within MX Player but you may try using a file explorer to save the URLs in a folder.

I was searching for an add-on or plugin for MX Player by way of trying to find a frontend to accomplish the same thing. I guess I was wishful thinking. Nevertheless, here's a link (replace the two $ signs with dots) to, copy and paste, of a post I made this morning providing a potentially extremely useful alternative: forums.androidcentral$com/samsung-galaxy-note-3/355922-how-can-i-save-network-streams-name-mx-player$html

Please consider implementing user adjustable settings for parameters related to streaming content such as cache size, buffer size, seconds to wait for connection time out, etc. The Android app from team48dreams has an internet radio section that can, handle pls, m3u, asf and perhaps other playlist formats for streaming media, for example.
thats would be really great - I miss this feature - thats the only reason why I use still VPlayer...

[Feature Request] Play Stream with custom user agent

Hi everyone,
I am watching some streams which require custom http-user-agent. On Windows, using VLC I simply add http URL and with parameter ":http-user-agent=something" (without quotes) and it works. However I couldn't find this option in MX Player -neither on any other player-. Is that even possible?
Thanks

I think maybe you have to provide more information about your hardware and what happens, how it fails,
if it works on other http streams and perhaps a log file - the sticky thread shows you how and when to collect a log.

[Feature request] Manually search subtitle "Title" online

In new version 1.7.39 you can search for online subtitles using opensubtitles, but it only searches for the filename. If the filename is wrong or doesn't match (streams usually provide a random filename like: video.avi) it doesn't work.
So I request that it is made possible for the user to input the title of the subtitles it is searching.
This way it is possible to search for subtitles for video streams.
Hope it is possible. I think its fairly easy do develop such a tool. I am a developer too.
Best regards,
Sounds good, it would be good to have also a way to enter a url of a subs database.
I'd love to have this feature too!! Like @whise1 said, it would be great when using streams. Hope they can add this anytime soon. :fingers-crossed:
This is now included in new beta 04-05-2015, thank you very much dev.

[Q][android tv] mx player can't find subtitles

Hi there
I installed mx player on my android tv box (freebox mini 4k) and when I watch video I click on search online subtitles, entering movie title and it shows nothing...
I configured languages preferences in the app settings (french + english).
Am I missing something ?
I am watching movies from macbook using plex media server if it's helpfull...
Thx by advance
opensubtitles.org protocol looks like being changed or broken somehow.
We will contact opensubtitles.org.
I warned you about it in a previous contributions, and no one answered. I hope you manage to fix it soon. This feature I often used.
thx for the reply so I understand it's about the opensubtitles api
I do not think there is a problem in Opensubtitles.org api, because other applications have already corrected the loading of the title. I got the MX Player buy and support the developer, but 4 months on the application did not reach anyone. 10 days no response to gmail or here on the forum. Hmm .- (

The developer is busy with the major upgrade 1.8.
It's almost in final stages. He may start the beta testing anytime soon.
Be patient.

Thank you for the answer. I will look forward to a new version comes out, perhaps as soon as possible, because I drive searching for subtitles of your application often used. Among other supports as the only search from opensubtitles.org Regardless of the name of the video, which seek out other applications by inserting video, but when I have a video that is: 448548sdssda45545sada5sd45.mp4 so I do not find in others. That was not the case.
Anyway, if it is possible to add the possibility of a larger set subtitle line and also searching always have the latest version according to the searched word. I should be if I was looking for: The Simpsons S27 E02 showed it to me always locate the latest headlines.
ps: please do not have the possibility to make action on the MX PLAYER and data necessary to apk for $ 1? You would have bought your application more people. Thanks for your time and service.

Do you get any messages?
Can you specify what you are searching for..?
I regularly get the message "error occurred during communicating with opensubtitles.org. please try again later" but the main issue is for 3 days now when it dose work and get subtitles it get a long list of subtitles that has no relation to the search text.
infect I believe the returned subtitle list is the same regardless of what the search text I enter is.
lets say for example I enter "haven s02e03" in the search for subtitles I get the same long list of irrelevant subtitles.
the online subtitle is unusable now at all.

It might be temporary issue on opensubtitles.org side. It's working on my device as of now.
