My problem as it stands:
TWRP 2.8.6.0 is installed
The Pure XL will boot, load all the way into android, and load all the built in apps.
I cannot install apps, and the google play store sits in a downloading loop.
The internal storage is empty save for a twrp folder. I can still read and write to the internal storage via twrp
I believe what I have done is erase all the contents of the internal storage.
Factory resets with the 3-15-2016 OTA update does not restore these folders/files.
Biggest issue: THIS IS MY WIFE'S PHONE AND SHE WILL KILL ME IF I CAN'T FIX IT.
Was wondering if one you fine fellow/ladies would upload a copy on the internal storage folders and files from a clean install of the 3-15-2016 OTA update so that I can attempt to copy them manually into my internal storage.
I would also take any help in restoring these files myself if a straight copy of the files isn't an option.
Any help will be appreciated!

With root explorer app of your choice. Or Odin back to stock.
in the CM10 rar is has 2 folders: system and meta-inf
When i copied it to the phone the system folder merged with system folder on my phone, along with all the other deeper folders.
So so i have to go through an manually select ALL the files that merged and arent supposed to be there since im still running my stock rom.
That's essentially my question.
Think you need to Odin stock firmware .tar image to format and restore system partition unless those folders are still intact and show as system/system and system/meta which is possible. They need to run the binary to split the files inside the folders. You only copied the folders to the root. Should not have split them up. I could be wrong. Not sure how you copied them to system root. Should have went to SD root. Can't access system root from PC via USB. Would have to put there with file explorer.
Download the original zip, explore all its contents and remove each one individually.

They should just be sitting on the sd card. There are no original system, meta ect folders on sd card to merge with. Has me confused. Can't access system root from PC without using ADB. Also if on SD root would not affect anything and would not be in backup. Just delete the main folders that were extracted from the zip from the SD card.
Agreed
i have no sd card. I installed abd then moved then extracted zip to the root of my internal memory. ATM i have installed CM10 and have no issues except for a huge chunk of my memory is gone.. if i delete the system folder from the root is it going to mess up a bunch of other things??

As long as it is on internal memory (SD) and not in the system partition should be no problem. If you mounted system in adb it is on or in the partition and not sure what to do except odin to reformat the partition. Some AOSP roms report the memory available wrong.
But he should have no issue finding it regardless of aosp storage issues. Op has no external, so he's either mnt/sdcard, internal, or usb storage. Emmc is out of play. Files should be clear as day. If you can put them on your root, you can take them off.
Agree with prdog, just Odin back if your unsure. But completely fixable.....
If I were you I'd give it more of a try without Odin just for the educational value.
Hi
I have managed to flash cm12 onto my S2 GT-I9100 and it is by far the best custom rom I have tried so far, but, when I went to flash GAPPS it stated to me that there was insufficient space, so I tried every size of GAPPS until the only one that would flash was "Pico".
My phone memory is using about 9Gb of the available 11Gb, surely when I did factory reset and Dalvik clear etc it should have wiped everything from this drive?
Maybe there are some files that I need to manually remove to free up some space?
Cheers
CM12 definitely does not need 9 GB storage. You most likely have junk files leftover in orphan directories. Use a root file manager to explore your internal storage and delete everything that you don't need. Don't delete DCIM (photos) or music directories, unless you do not care about them.
I have run into a problem, I was trying to install CM12 and besides factory reset I did format data in TWRP and and now internal memory was formated. I am not able to see any zip files of nandroid backup now. I had copied the nandroid backup to pc but phone's storage is neither shown in PC. What to do now.
If you can still boot in twrp use the adb sideload. Just seaech on youtube how to copy files by that.
:crying::crying::crying::crying::crying:
Hi,
Today i wanted to install Sultanxda CM13, so I carefully wiped only data, system, cache, dalvik cache & ART in Multirom-TWRP 3.0.0 after taking backups in Titanium Backup & nandroid backups. Then I went to wipe>advanced wipe>ticked system>fs options>change fs>selected f2fs & swiped . Same I did for data & cache (formatted only /data, /system & /cache). After that, when I when I went to install zip, MY INTERNAL STORAGE WAS EMPTY! (Also, 54GB space remaining in internal storage) :crying::crying::crying::crying:: OH DAMN S**T . I am very very sure I didnt wipe or format Internal Storage. And now my whole internal storage is gone (IT HAD VERY VERY IMPORTANT VIDEOS, PHOTOS & DOCUMENTS).
SO PLEASE HELP ME IN RECOVERING THE FILES. And curse you TWRP 3.0.0!
EDIT 1: I just saw this xda thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/gal...de-internal-memory-data-recovery-yes-t1994705. But it needs ADB & root access, and I dont have OS. Installing OS isnt a problem or me, but if I install OS, some files would be written on data partition, and that would decrease the chances of file recovery. So any way to access root & adb without OS? @DaxNagtegaal and other people can you please help?
EDIT 2: I tried to use root in adb (in TWRP), but it doesnt work. So I installed COS12.1 YOG7DAS2K1-signed flashable zip & SUperSU 2.65 as a last resort in TWRP, booted it, skipped any data restore (to do it later), installed busybox and now I am trying the long-method given here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/gal...de-internal-memory-data-recovery-yes-t1994705 (Now I am making .raw file of the internal storage block through adb). (It seems its gonna take about 8 hours to completely make the vhd file).
Buy an otg cable download a rom on your pc,transfer it to your pc and voila else you can also buy a usb which can be plug directly in your mobile.i think you will be able to recover some file because rom won't take over 54gb.
Please read properly. I installed COS 12.1 YOG7DAS2K1 as a last resort. Now I am trying to recover the data.
I don't think you will be able to recover all the files but atleast some will be recoverable as rom won't take over all space, how many files were there?which files were valuable to you? it its photos?as i once lost my pictures since then im using google photos!
Yup, many pics, some documents, some text files (in which I save all my passwords, usernames, etc) & videos (also game data ).
ah ok i feel you mate, now when you are up and running just use google photos for pictures and googledrive or dropbox for your important files, atleast you know you will be safe if ever you encounter any issue.
Try " delete " like recovery app .once i tried and recover nearly 500 photos but i hadn't try to recover files .
If you change data to f2fs this will wipe your internal storage. Just do a backup next time and inform you more.
I know I did an internal storage backup with TWRP. I have extracted the system and data TWRP files and see all the apps, system, etc.. but am not seeing the Internal Storage. Can someone please point me to where in the directory structure the internal is? (there is no storage folder or mnt)

@SyCoREAPER I'm not sure you can backup internal storage with TWRP. If memory serves me right you can back up System, Cache, Data, Boot and EFS. However, having just woke up maybe I'm not reading your provided information right or possibly I'm completely wrong. When I back up internal storage I use my laptop or PC OS file manager.

You know you are right. I remembered seeing it in Wipe, not in Backup. Well that sucks turds. Google Photos backup turned on from now on. At least I have a partial outdated backup but all my TSO (Trans Syberian Orchestra) shots are gone. Had great seats too
