In other words stop opening useless threads. Seriously I'm starting to get annoyed and that isn't easy. There are plenty of update, discussion threads. Are you going for a high score or something?

What is exact software version you talking about. I saw yesterday someone got update as 1.27.400.9 and that 400 part in software give hint at region, but I've not got update on my phone and I'm checked couple of time a day but no luck. I'm on 1.13.400.6, I do know that TW(Taiwan version of U11) also got new update and also HK, didn't hear any news about EU U11, like 1.13.401.x ...

is this FINALLY it?

sounds like we all get froyo tonight?
Delete Please
I went to SamsungMobile.com and USA is not listed nor does it say that I have that region selected by default based on my IP address or anything of the like.
So 2 questions...
How is this relevant to USA/AT&T customers ?
How do I verify I am reading information that's for my region ?
I'm 99% sure it's not for any US or Canadian versions of the galaxy s. If you guys check out the multiple threads pertaining to this very topic, you would know that. The update coming out today is for the European and Korean versions. Samsung has repeatedly said that the update rolling out today is only for Europe and the US will be getting it later this year.
LOL... No.
There are two things I know for FACT about the Froyo update.
Waiting for it is just part of it.
And when it drops the news WILL be unavoidable.
It's a Don't call us we'll call you kind of thing, and I bet the phone will ring right off the hook when it comes.
Don't want to get my hopes up, but this may be true.
I just connected to kies mini and instead of getting firmware version is up to date I got, "Failed to connect to the model information server". Others have been reporting this on another forum. So I guess it is worth a try tonight to see.
I definitely think something is in the works here. I have been trying to check for an update via Kies. Most of the morning I am getting "Failed to connect to the model information server". I believe some people received the same thing prior to the last update. Guess we will all have to wait and see.
http://kr.samsungmobile.com/notice/anycallpopup/froyo_up.jsp
go go go
That's in Korean ... so I am assuming the update is for Korean phones?

Looks like we can expect this update in the United States later today.
I just checked out samsungmobile.com and USA is not an available selection. So not really getting my hopes up about the reports of 2.2 later today.

Still, it's fun to see rumor threads pop up.
It'll be funnier when the "I flashed back to stock to get ready but nothing happened" threads pop up later.
**Waiting with baited breath**
Just connected mine to Kies and got the message saying I have the latest firmware version. Others have been having connection issues but mine synced right up ... I think this is another wild goose chase unless you are living in Korea.

I have been trying all morning and I think about 75% of the time I could not connect and the other 25% of the time I had the same results as you. Could be that everyone is trying the server is overwhelmed. Either way the link I put in my last post makes it sound like the update is likely to hit the US today.
I am not holding my breath though since every Samsung phone I have ever owned has been one goose chase after the next when it comes to updates.
I think waiting around for froyo has made me bitter. I keep getting my hopes up only to get shot down ... I have become a pessimist. Gee thanks Samsung haha.

I heared it was WEDNESDAY! LOL
This update is not for the US market but for everyone else. I found this comment on the Galaxy S twitter page:
@imms0fat Hi Rich. Thx for that article. It refers to non-US phones. Samsung USA and TMO should release 2.2 by the end of the year.
So us US folks are left in the cold til years end
Trust. Me if it was coming out for our phones (USA) android central would be all over it. So far nothing from them.

Updates tend to be staggered so keep trying. This is, of course, assuming you're on 1.27.161.1 at present
Yay!!
I'm downloading now
About time! Though having said that, the unbranded one was only rolled out last week, so not too long after I guess?
Umm... it's only 27.32 Mb???

It's only a small update, some bug fixes and the like. It's normal
Ah I see -
I'm not sure where I read, but for some reason I thought it was about 330 Mb!?
hmm...
Ok, well it's installed and now loading up
Will give you feedback in a few mins
Hmm....
Nothing spectacular at the moment...
Scrolling is smooth (it was smooth initially anyways though)...
Got a score of 1900 on Quadrant, whereas I was getting 1800 up till now...
Something is synchronising constantly for the last few minutes (the two arrows in a circle), that's about it at the moment
Really need to test this at home - hopefully the signal issue is fixed! (Kept dropping randomly)

The full RUU is about 400MB but the OTA is small. The article was for a test OTA and was quite large though
Since update

You caught me Hope you don't mind , I though my sig looked a buit Naff with nothing in it, lol
but yea, I wish voda would let the OS be, yea ok maybe add an app thats of use, but messing about with stock apps, thats not what I am paying for. I am hoping that rooting s-off will get rid of this vodafone restriction.
I a ( and have asked in the QA section) if it was possible to do what you could do with the old nokias, and thats edit the phones product code so that it would install the offical OTA update (i.e the Eu standard) rather than the branded one.
Also for Ireland
Also now available for Vodafone Ireland. They're possibly the same version of firmware though.

I don't mind at all mate!!
The gold card that worked on previous HTC handsets would've done the job here too but seems it doesn't with the Sensation at present (which worked in much the same way as old Nokia handsets in that it hid the phone real product code)
hopfully they are working on the gold card, I have seens ome threads regarding development and testing of the gold card, but I assume this is more likly to work when s-off has been achieved.
Once we have S-OFF we can go custom so stock RUUs will be pointless. Just use a custom ROM based on the stock ROM!
Have they done anything sneaky in it that will effect s-off later or is the H-Boot the same? I know the last update for the Legend from Vodafone made it a lot more awkward to root it and at the moment neither Htc nor Vodafone have said if Vodafone will allow s-off. Just a bit scared to update and be ****ed later.
well i asked this on the vodafone forum and the mods replied stating that they don't see why Vodafone would not allow the s-off update to go through. I guess its a good sign when you dont just get the generic 'We don't know at this time'
also I am guessing with a modded rom, this would be better than a stock rom, yet how would you go about getting updates for a modded rom? Just wait for a modder to release an update, also with a modded rom, do they just use the base rom i.e euro standard.

Updates?

I know a lot of people are saying an update is coming first week of August, where are people finding this info? Tried searching and came up with nothing.

Update

Hi , i have a honor 8 and the update should have arrived yet through hicare but it doesnt. I ddont know why but it doesnt , so i tried to upgrade it with firmware finder , who downloaded the latest version of nougat , and when i was installing it it says the firmware was incompatible . My version is frd l09 b131 and i looked to upgrade with charles app but im a noob and i couldnt . Am i doing something wrong ? Sorry for my english
Not everyone gets the update at this time. I'm very disappointed in Huawei. A few days rollout I can understand. Over a week? No.
I agree , i had 2 iphones and when An update rolls out the server became so busy that we cant download anything , but in one day our two we can download . Huawei isnt doing it right , i hope it apeers soon in my phone...
Nougat update
A lot of companies haven't released nougat especially in the US. Motorola promised G4 at end of 2016. Only country who received it was India.. As long as we get in February, I'm fine with that. Let others sort out the bugs.. Lol

Yes and I'm still waiting too. It's very disappointing.
U will get it though guys.
Try not to get caught up in the big I must have the update thing.
There are some changes that you can see from MM -N but most of it is under the skin.
U will get your updates.
Don't take risks with your phone unless you really know what your doing.
It would be such a shame to root your phone etc just to get an update and f-ck up your phones.

Anybody got any update above b190 for L29C567?

Anybody got any update above b190 for L29C567? US version that is. The Intl C432 version got 2 or 3 updates after our May update.
Should we consider rebranding?

There's a beta, B230, out for the US version. That's the latest release, albeit not an officially pushed one.
Probably new version will come soon, I'd think.

Where did you come across it? It is not showing up in FF.
I'm on b190 here as well. I seen the beta listed on the FunkyHuawei site. But I don't want to mess with anything right now lol.
Hoping we'll see Oreo released just after the Mate 10

Me either...I do appreciate those that run the betas, but 190 is VERY stable for me. I've gotten old enough, cranky
enough, and stubborn enough to just run official release versions. At the end of the day when I get home from
work, I don't even pick my phone up, unless someone actually calls me, and even with that, it better be a family
member or I won't touch it. I get enough calls, text, emails on the thing during the day.:cyclops:
Same here...was tempted to rebrand and try some of the custom ROMs but this phone is working so well for me. I also doubt the 230 version has any features that makes it worth it to update. I will wait for Oreo before I mess with it again.
