Hello everyone,
so basically I need some help (obviously ) and my problem is that I can only get an E (Edge) mobile data connection, and I know for sure that my Simcard provider does support (European) 3G and a download speed of up to 4MB/s. I Tried a lot of stuff that I could find here on the xda-developers forums like dialing *#*#4696#*#* -> Phone Information then changing WCDMA preferred to GSM only and then back to WCDMA preferred and then going on options and selecting Europe from the "Select radio band" option. I've upgraded my radio from 1.20.50.05.16_10.31.50.08 to 1.35a.32.45.27_10.144.32.34aL with no success. I have tried flashing different ROMs for hboot2.16 starting from Android 4.2.2 up to 7.1.2, Sense based ROMs and AOSP ROMs, also with no success.
I've been trying different stuff, looking on other websites, even in different languages for a way to fix this with no success.
I'm starting to give up hope as I don't feel like getting POed because of this problem (although it was a great amusement to my BF to see how I act when I'm raging :good: xD )
Right now I went back to my normal ROM that I've used for the past couple of months which is Lineage 14.1 (I've clean flashed the newest release of it).
I really hope someone could help me because it's starting to go on my nerves ^-^
Thanks in advance!
EDIT:
I also wanted to say that I have an HTC One S (European S4 model) and my carrier is VodafoneDE and my Simcard is an "Edeka Mobil" card.
I've seen that about 100 people have seen my thread, a bit of help would be nice >.<

Hey guys,
I recently got a Telstra TP2 on a new contract, but I can't stand what they've done to the ROM. For those who don't know, Telstra have added 4 extra tabs on TF3D (downloads, telstra applications, tv, news and sport) which can't be removed or turned off, and they've put 12 locked (unremovable) program shortcuts on the start menu.
As I'm in a rural area, I need the 850 band the Telstra version of the phone supplies, and I'm worried that flashing a new cooked rom will lose this functionality (I'm very new to this). As it is, the shipped version of the Telstra rom isn't found on this site through the wiki (version 1.19.841.3 (51489) wwe), so I'm scared that I'll lose it forever and won't be able to put it back on if something goes squirly.
Is there anyway I can get around this besides flashing a cooked rom, and possibly losing the shipped rom forever?
Also, have any other telstra users been able to use HDWall on the phone to replace the crappy blue telstra background throughout the device?
Many thanks,
Tim
Welcome to forums
Have a look on Rhodium ROM development and choose another ROM!
Good luck,
Thanks for the welcome
I've had a look around, making some heads and tails of it, but I really need to know if I'm going to lose my 850 band with Telstra if I flash another cooked rom without all this Telstra garbage on it.
No you wont
850 is a hardware stuff related and you cant change it with any ROM, so you can install
Just have a deep read on the how to section in rhodium rom development
Enjoy,
Hi there, me again.
I was at the Windows 7/Windows Phone pre-launch in Melbourne on Tuesday, and picked the brains of the Microsoft employees manning the Windows Phone booth showing off Winmo 6.5 on the TP2 and D2. One of the first things I was asked during the conversation was if I had already flashed 6.5 on my phone, which I was surprised about. I mentioned my reservations about losing the 850mhz band with Telstra NextG, and the employee told me that the support for the band is built into Telstra's crappy ROM, and would be lost if flashed with anything else.
Are they yanking my chain or what?
I would like to know this too.
I`ve changed my ROM twice, saved my original one.. and I`ve finally encountered a connectivity issue...
Perhaps it`s my using a Telstra, Unlocked HTC Touch Pro 2 with an Athine ROM (though it really doesn`t make any difference what ROM I use... Maybe) on my Rogers BlackBerry Internet plan.
But I`ve used the Sony Ericsson Xperia on it and a few weeks prior to this date, have had no problem surfing the internet.
It MAY be the fact that Rogers is having problems with their network in downtown Toronto, so I`m hoping it`s not my TP2...
In any case, I`m using HDWalls on my phone.. but I`m just (un)installing the individual walls as I go along.
There`s something wrong with my computer that I have to fix because I cannot install the items necessary to use HDsWalls on the phone, and on the computer.
But so far, it`s been the best.
Although, I just have to say.. if you don`t have anything like "background for all" sort of cab files on the phone, I believe;
1) The phone runs faster
2) The background quality is crisper/better
Took me 2 weeks for me to get my Telstra Touch Pro 2 from Australia to Canada, and it was worth it.
I BELIEVE just changing the ROM will do nothing to the radio.
Moving into radio talk, I was wondering if I updated my Telstra phone with the latest AT&T radio build, because the hardware is for 850mhz and so is the build...
Will it enhance my connectivity?
Does anyone have any expertise on this and help shed some light?
Hi, I am using Inspire 4G for about a year in Central Europe (Czech republic) but since I bought it I am having difficulties to get a lock on GPS. It eventually almostT every time locks but it takes up to 5, sometimes even 10 minutes. Also I am receiving only EDGE signal, I have no 3G (I have 3G on Xperia X8 with the same SIM).
I am currently trying new roms and Inspiremod seems great but when flashing it I noticed something like "Configuring GPS for North America" which made me wonder - can I somehow configure GPS to Central Europe? If so - HOW?
Also, does anyone know which radio should I use to run 3G here? I tried a few but none works.
Thanks alot! :good:
oh and... While I am currently trying custom ROMs, I am thinking how could I ease myself from some trouble and pack my favorite apps into a ZIP so I could flash it the way I flash ROMs or GApps. Does anyone know the solution here (I bet you do :good: )?
Search for the gps fix, the rest click on my signature.

Hi All,
Just recently bought an N5, and really loving it. On stock ROM, I have no problem with LTE connectivity, wifi etc... but whenever I install a custom ROM, I lose that connectivity. I 'force' the LTE APN from settings, and I've also tried creating a new APN with the correct settings for my region, however I never get the LTE connection. The icon at the top just stays at the "H" or "H+", which if my memory serves me correct refers to HSDPA or something like that (aka 3g). I use an unlimited data plan, so this really sucks.
Anyone know a workaround where I can use custom ROMS and use them here in Korea? (SKT carrier)
Thanks,
J
p.s. any suggestions would be welcome, as I'm aware that this sort of problems exist for a lot of N5 owners after searching the web. However I could not find any fixes.
Problem solved, seems like certain ROMs are incompatible? Maybe something to do with the radio frequency / kernel etc...
Not sure why, but installing Xenon HD ROM has solved all my problems !
You can use the /etc/apns-conf.xml from any SK device, like a Korean s4 or the one from the stock n5 rom. Just replace the one in which ever rom you're using.
Hello,
I am new to the Android world coming from the iphones I had jailbroken. I searched for and found answers to a bunch of issues I had with this last flash but am not finding anything specific to my question below so I hoped someone might shed some light or point me in the right direction. I have a Xperia z3 6603 on kitkat 23.0.A.2.93. I downgraded the firmware from what it came with to get root which it now has, BL still locked. Over time it started acting up so I re flashed last week with a new downloaded ROM I used D6603_23.0.A.2.93_Generic_20GLOBAL.ftf.
The one last major issue (I hope) is the weak signal. I am on AT&T and since the flash I get max one or two bars LTE (full bars before) in the big metropolitan areas...briefly it goes to 4 bars. I don't get the signal strength on H+ I got before either so checked my APN configuration based on a post I found dated 2015 and it matches. I thought since it was a global rom I shouldn't have issues with the modem. Is there something I need to install or configure to get my signal strength back to where it was pre flash?
Thanks again for any help....definite android newbie trying to learn as much as I can so don't have to bug anyone.
Every firmware has its own radio ROM which is responsible for the signal/cell radio modem settings.
You might want to flash the ROM specific to your country, not the global/generic one.
If you want to play and tinker a bit, go to phone and dial *#*#7378423#*#*(*#*#SERVICE#*#*) to play around with Network Mode or the Antenna RX diversity tests.
Or you could try *#*#4636#*#* (*#*#INFO#*#*) to play around with Phone information.
Enjoy and good luck
Hello guys,
I have a you yureka plus phone which I bought a week ago. I'm facing network problems with it since the time II switched it on. I am not able to get network coverage and therefore very less Internet speed in my home whereas my older phone gets amazing coverage and very high internet speed.
I have contacted the sim card operator and they weren't able to help.
I tried almost all possible ways to get rid of the problem.
I tried the *#*#4636#*#* thing.
I tried changing different apns.
Rooted my phone and tried different custom ROMs and kernals.
So far global ROM miui v8 is the best one as it gives network bars but the internet speed is stilp very low compared to the other phone.
I flashed a different modem file found here in xda but that also didn't work.
I'm out of ideas and I'd really appreciate any help.
Sim cards- jio and tata DoCoMo
Current ROM - global miui v8 based on android 5.1.1
Kernal - velocity v10.3
Thank you.
Hi !
This seems to be a device specific issue , maybe your network doesn`t match the device basebands , try changing them from settings/prefered network type and also get in tuch with your provider about this
Cheers !
i tried all the options in the preferred network type with no success. my provider said there's something wrong with phone's software and he couldn't help with that

Are you sure that the phone supports your carriers bands ? You may find that you are only able to get 3g or only have one or two of the bands that your carrier uses

I'm sure it supports 4g, because I get good 4g speed in my workplace. I'm having this problem only in certain areas like my home and college. How do i check the exact bandwidth capabilities of my phone?
