Sapphyx Launcher- A launcher built for you in mind - Android Apps and Games

This is simply the sequel to my last launcher project, Sapphire Launcher. I started this project last August and began the beta in June of this year. So, Instead of boring you with a story of how I started and what an android launcher is, I will start with what is important to know before you post any comments.
Sapphyx Launcher is not intended to be another Pixel based Launcher. I provide the settings needed to transform the launcher from the "Pixel" interface back to the original launcherinterface. I am not a code junky, this is a learning project for me to learn how to properly use Google Services, Firebase, Analytics, Communicate properly with the user base and community on Google Plus, learn android from within the launcher application and provide cool customization options to your android device. Sapphyx is for Android 6.0 and above because of the code structure I use and the performance I promise.
Sapphyx Launcher is my vision of what I would call an original launcher. Its the kind of experience that slaps you in the face alittle bit to get you thinking why havn't other developers taken up such originality in their homescreen replacement projects. Like my old custom roms (Bionx Roms), i promise a unique experience and a very good customer feedback appreciation program. The launcher, like many other custom launchers, offer customization to pretty much everything. Label text size and color, grid options, toggling views and menus, unique navigation from point A to point B, material user interface, Context Pages, Gestures, Notification bubbles and more! Sapphyx Launcher has been called the ADW of its time as it brings back memories of my current users of the original ADW launcher from gingerbread with the amount of options that are offered. In Sapphyx Launcher, I offer a unique and exclusive feature called Context Pages (Now available in the latest beta) which are my replacement of a swipe to left add on. These pages offer different tools, features and shortcuts to daily tasked completed by the user. Sapphyx Launcher is a premium application and requires a license to use some of the advanced options. I also offer free license to users on certain occasions. Sapphyx Launcher is fully optimized for 64bit environment and Snapdragon chipsets.
MAIN FEATURES (Based on latest beta release)
-Transitional Themeing
-Notification Bubbles
-Homescreen Customization
-Dock Preferences
-Folder Preferences
-Unique Launcher Drawer with toolbar
-Context Pages (With Chooser)
-Unique Wallpaper manager
-Powerful Launcher Settings
-Google Services and Firebase
-Fabric Error Reporting
And more...
If a Licensed is missing, its because I am still testing the code and determining if its reliable for my project. I have no intentions to add Google Now or Oreo features. I may create my own implementation of something similar going forward if requested.
I urge you to join the Google Plus Group as that is my home and where I will be posting majority of what I am working on and previews and also you can sign up from for beta build releases.

Rollouts/Updates
Sapphyx Launcher will be distributed in 3 ways. On Google Play, users have a choice of the stable channel and beta channel. The stable channel will distribute builds that are dependable, less buggy and user friendly. Beta builds will have experimental settings, have relatively new features readying for the stable channel and is open.
Xda Labs will feature dev preview builds in the Alpha Channel, mirrored beta versions and stable versions.
The Google Play Rating system for beta builds point users to this forum.
Ratings
I take the rating system seriously. If you abuse the system you will be pointed out or ignored. If you call out a user or developer, i will call you out publicly. Rate the application based on its performance, its features and reliability. Not what you think it should be or what you want it to be. Do not demand features.
License
I may not include license to a 3rd party resource if i am testing it or its relatively new. A license will be included if its solid and dependable and plan to be kept in the project.

#first!! Excellent launcher bro!!

Hoping to have the final beta update out before the end of August. After that, the next update after that will begin locking features and settings and users will be required to purchase either my premium or onyx license key (no difference except value and support). A handful of features will stay unlocked like icon editing and icon pack support.

Is there a way not to use the extended homescreen. I am not able to go back to homescreen when i am on another screen without opening that ****in extended screen

I am currently working on a way to lock it out for users who don't like the intentions of it. Its based on a Drawer layout thus the launcher layout is placed inside of it so its not something i can just disable with a view toggle. I have to find a way to lock the drawer from being accessed. Right now, its i provided an enforced lock toggle. Yes, this is a priority im working on.

This actually looks really good, seems to fix the handful of things that bother me about the pixel launcher.ill give it a shot for a few days and see how it does on my s8(TouchWiz is ehh), I'll be sure to post any bugs I find to the g+ group

Very much appreciated. I like to tell users they don't have to keep Sapphyx installed, i care more about what they noticed or found that could be wrong.

Pushed out an update today to the following apps in regards to Sapphyx Launcher.
GSD Premium license now adds a Time Page module for Static Pages (Simple Widget, may add more to it later).
Sapphyx SideDrawer now listens to Drawer Background Color and Column Count shared preferences.
Getting ready to release the API for devs to mess around with as well as adding Shared Preferences inside Sapphyx Launcher settings they will have access to. For example: Static Pages background color.
Happy weekend everyone.

Update 1.00.25 available on playstore, xda labs coming soon.

woow seems very promising launcher!
can you implement a static page that have same feature of oneplus shelf or arrow launcher? i hate google now page on the left, and i would love a scrollable page where i can add my widget and app shortcut!
Hope this can be a added soon1

I already have plans to develop a page similar to Shelf. If I don't get to it, another dev will be able to soon as I will be releasing the API soon todo so. Im just not their yet to be satisfied with public usage.
I felt the same while developing this launcher, i wanted the same concept just another package or feature.

great work man!

I started working on publishing the Sapphyx Launcher API on github. Repository is live but the tutorial and setup isn't finished yet, been busy.
If you have any interest in it, feel free to star it. Github account can be accessed in the launcher about information. Il have some things documented above in OP when everything on github is finalized.

API is live on my github. I will be publishing some of my pages on my Github for examples.
The next update will be official release anf as a reminder will be locking all premium settings and requiring a key to unlock.
As apart of the update, Im compiling on Android Oreo which has broken a few things and improved performance so Im in the middle of a massive rework right now. The Extended homescreen is more aggressive now, making it feel more like a drawer than a extra page on your homescreen. This makes it less visible for users to notice if you do not want to use it vs users who will be using it. A large number of Force Closes have been patched. Ive gone through the launcher settings and moved a few things around while revamping a few views (Like the Avatar bottom menu).
Il be focusing on more user requests near release so keep the logs and requests and feedback coming.

A new feature im currently working on for Sapphyx Launcher. Kinda like a mock of the One plus Shelf.

looks lit man !
cant wait

Another look at the redesigned Left and Right Panes in Sapphyx Launcher's new update currently in development.
Static Pages now have an indicator to indicate which page you are on and how far left you are. Above the container is now a Google Now search widget which solves the delima of Now on left as clicking on it opens Google Now in that view. (I could add the Companion code from lawnchair but i really don't want to copy from them)
The Smart Pane has pretty much a final design. Just lacking its features at the moment. Currently looking at some options users could benefit from if they choose to use this feature for a cleaner homescreen setup.
This new update is planned for the end of September or beginning of October. I have a few things i want to touch up as far as existing tweaks, revamp the UX for the launcher settings, fix a few straggling bugs in a few tweaks and finalize the new Smart Pane and lock all premium settings.

A project update for xda followers.
I plan on doing a dev preview as an alpha build on xda labs soon. This build would be labled as an Alpha build and be a preview of the fall update. I hope to have this live next week. If you use this build, I expect feeeback. I will announce when it goes live.
I recently just switched to the newest Android Studio 3 beta and updated the launcher to compile on Oreo. The result was a massive amount of broken activities and actions because of new behavior and deprecated code and rules in Oreo. I have been working hard to fix everything and patch anything in need and remove anything that was completely broken. The result was a faster launcher but their is some weird behavior still and we're trying to locate the bugs and fix them (For example the drawer hangs or gets stuck as you swipe up from the dock)
I have been finishing up what I need to for a few new features, one of them being Sleeve. Sleeve is my representation of the One Plus Shelf feature. Altho it isn't 100% complete yet, I want users to get to try it and here from them what All could go in this hidden home screen. This screen is summoned via a gesture or launcher action.
A great amount of the launcher and interface has been rewritten to be more user friendly and easier to use as well as make that first impressions on many. The launcher settings has been re organized, a new long click listener was added to the carrot indicator. A few fixes to icon pack helper for Oreo and patches to pre existing tweaks so they behave correctly.
Be sure to follow the google plus group for more info and previews and to share your feedback and requests easier.

Dev preview builds are available on xda labs. Please select Alpha channel.

Initial impression is that its very confussing and difficult to use... it took me a while to work out what I was looking at. Don't get the widget folder as it negates what a widget is. I do like the potential concept, but this really needs a lot more thought into user experience.
To start with look at changing the folder controls to make them easier to select.
This is a very original approach and I'll going to watch this one with interest...

Often only shows black screen on HTC legend.
The dock icons are too big and there is hardly any customization possible.
But it is a really interesting idea and different from other launcher. I'll stay tuned.

We would really appreciate any more detail you can provide about Widgets. We are tweaking the UI throughout the beta program and any additional ideas or recommendations would be really helpful.

Unless I'm missing something the only place to add widgets is in the folder at the top of the screen. This limited the use of widgets... for example if I add a 2x2 clock thats all I can see and use unless I expand the folder. This is compounded by the difficulty in using the folder controls. Widgets are supposed to provide quick and easy access and viewing of apps and info you use most, currently this is lost in Claystone... If you could make widget use a little more traditional it would go a long way...
Like I said previously though the whole user experience would be vastly improved if you added larger controls to the folders making it quick and easy to expand/close etc.
Like ms_green says the dock is a little large and it makes the screen feel a little cramped.
A very short review, sorry for being blunt:
* On my Droid Incredible: great, now applications are even smaller/hard to read. UI is not very responsive. Toolbar buttons are too small but making them any bigger would mean even less real estate.
* Tablet: Ooooh now you're talking! The layout makes much more sense, especially in landscape mode. This is actually getting closer to WebOs' take on multitasked UI.
I think this app has a great future on tablets.
Ima dl right now

Can someone post screenshots? Thanks
This is great!!! VERY GOOD!!! the concept is amazing
things u might want to improve:
The loading speed of panels are slow. Even opening the appdrawer takes no less than 3 seconds, not to mention browser etc
When u scroll vertically but a bit sideways on a panel it just pops u into another panel, very excruciating
Panels. seriously, all u can have is a home panel and a widget panel? i want to make my own (not just folders) for example media, games etc
"items" u can add. to be honest all there is is file explorer, browser and youtube (not to mention the youtube one really sucks). U need more of these "items", but i understand this is a beta
lol no offense
I could see this possibly having potential on a bigger screen, like a tablet maybe. But as it stands things feel too cramped on my 3.7 inch screen. Also things are a bit slow atm.
It's an interesting concept, but implemented in a moderately confusing fashion. The widget box resizes widgets oddly, making things look bulky, etc.
Great idea, though.
Opening the inbuilt contacts force closes the app for me.
But apart from that, a brilliant concept! I can't wait for new additions! Great job

Thanks for the great feedback!
You can create more panels ("folders") as well, you can copy and paste any item in any panel. In our next drop we are going to make it simple by adding applications to the "create" menu.

[APP][2.1+] Appsi sidebar, a plugin supported sidebar application

September 13th
Today I released Appsi 1.5. This release includes the following new features:
1. A new (100% free and a part of Appsi itself) page in the sidebar with support for
- App widgets in the sidebar
- Home plugins (Appsi specific plugins, more below)
- DashClock extensions
2. Full freedom in placing the hotspots and the amount of them.
3. Fast scrolling support
4. More cutomizations and look & feel options
5. Music player controls (with special thanks to xda member Dr.Alexander_Breen for his excellent guide)
.. And a lot more.
September 4th (beta 1.4.21):
It's been a while and I think it is time to give you all a little update on what's going on behind the scenes in beta. I am working on fixing the issues that are left and hope to release the upcoming version as Appsi 1.5 soon.
I have got tons of new cool features coming up. To name a few:
1. A new (100% free and a part of Appsi itself) page in the sidebar with support for
- App widgets in the sidebar
- Home plugins (Appsi specific plugins, more below)
- DashClock extensions
2. Full freedom in placing the hotspots and the amount of them.
3. Fast scrolling support
4. More cutomizations and look & feel options
5. Music player controls (with special thanks to xda member Dr.Alexander_Breen for his excellent guide)
.. And a lot more.
The Home Plugins are small extensions to the home tab/plugin. The are small plugins you can add to the home tab in Appsi. They can be used to show things like, missed calls count, launching certain intents and a lot more. There is an open source sample project with docs on Github. And there's some instructions right here.
If you are looking for screenshots, take a look in the G+ beta community.
July 30th: Version 1.4 released
Last weekend I updated Appsi to version 1.4
New features:
1. Customize the size of the text and icons
2. Change the spacing between the items
3. Global search
4. New icon
July 15th: Version 1.3.3 in beta.
Very small amount of changes for this beta. Moving to production on 18th if no issues arise.
1. Option to minimize the notification. (no icon and smallest possible notification, no extra actions etc)
2. Bug fix for android 4.0.3 and 4.0.4 devices, causing crashed with hardware acceleration enabled.
3. Fix issue with long texts on items in the sidebar when there is a title and a description. The title will now also have ellipsis.
July 13th: Version 1.3 released.
Today I moved version 1.3 from beta to production. The following changes are probably going to make 1.4:
Improved search: Search through all apps, even if the section is disabled. If you have plugins, search will include all results from all plugins.
Live folder support in Appsi (add a live folder as if it is a plugin)
If you have a suggestion, just let me know.
Also I will add new translations once they have been completed. This is just a matter of time. If you would like to help out, pm me.
July 6th: Version 1.3 beta released.
I just finished uploading the new beta version of Appsi to Google play. This new version contains the following new features:
Proper favorites manager
Contextual action bar to perform actions on long press.
Switch plugins by swiping left or right on the sidebar
Updates to all plugins for the contextual actions
Fixes:
Fixed a bug in the icon caching mechanism
This is a beta release, so for now only accessible for beta testers (wanna be a beta tester? let me know). This version will most likely move to production within one week.
July 1st: version 1.2.4 was released
Although it may not sound like a big update, This version adds support for the following new features:
* transparency in the sidebar
* the ability to choose a background image for the sidebar
* Choice between light and dark theme
* Improved the way to get the data from the plugins.
* Improved user experience, especially for new users.
Special thanks go out to all the people helping with translations and beta testing. Thank you very much!
See https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.appsimobile.appsi for the Google play listing.
Appsi sidebar is a sidebar application for android. It comes with an embedded App plugin (more about that later) that allows you to see all your apps and add your favorite 5 apps as favorites.
It supports 3 distinct gestures when opening the sidebar, by default they will all open the sidebar normally. The gestures are moving horizontally after touching the hotspot, moving up or moving down. For each of these you can set the action to perform, these actions are:
- open the sidebar (default)
- open favorites swiper
- open recents swiper (needs plugins with recents)
- open plugin swiper (swipe to the plugin you'd like to open and then open the sidebar)
The swiper is the same as what you might know from other apps (like swipepad), it allows you to open something with one single touch, by moving your finger from the sidebar to the item.
The hotpot is either on the left or right side of the screen, it can be positioned manually and can be as big as you want.
Thanks to the wonderful people on this forum Russian translations have been added in the latest version. Also simplified Chinese has been added. I'd like to know what you all think about this app
Appsi is plugin based (and supported). This means it allows you to buy plugins to extend the functionality. This is not needed for normal operation, but it will add more types of things you can add as a sidebar.
You can either add a hotspot for each plugin, or use one hotspot for all plugins. The opened plugin can be changed by tapping the title of the sidebar.
If anyone has suggestions or improvement, either for plugins or Appsi itself, please let me know.

Appsi 1.5 release
Hello everybody,
If there are people out here that would like to test the app and provide feedback that would be great. I am open to suggestions and have a list of upcoming features. One of the features I just released as beta is the ability to change the alpha and to set a background for the sidebar. And the ability to be always up to date with the plugins (no need to load the data when the sidebar opens)
So if you'd like to do beta testing, send me your Google account (e-mail address) and I'll add you to the testers list.
If you do not want to test the beta version but would prefer to test the current version, that will also help very much.
Any feedback will help.
Thank you all!
If I'm right, this sidebar uses a service as "sidebar", doesn't it?
All other apps I've seen start up an activity if you touch the gesture area. If you press the home button and try to launch an activity from the gesture area, it has a 5 second delay.
So that's a really good thing.
Overall UI looks pretty good, which makes the users first thoughts about the app very positive.
ActionBar in the sidebar is awesome and usefull.
Logo isn't the best I've seen, you could improve that.
This is my opinion 4 seconds after installation.
Edit: search bar is very usefull
Sent from my Nexus 4 running Android 4.2 JB
I will try it ASAP and report.
I tried a lot already.... almost all to be honest, and i stick right now to a cryptic one but which really work well. Can be used for inspiration, so here it is (and i am not advertsing, ok. It is just for reference as this one is relly unknown) : overlay launcher.
Gonna install your app and report from my of course subjective point of view.
Cheers
Really like it thus far! Would it be possible to make it easier to switch between plug ins, I.e, when the sidebar is open instead of going to the top to switch plug ins, maybe you can swipe left and right within in the sidebar to switch between plug ins. It will make it a lot easier to use instead of going to the top.

It is mandatory to add an option to dismiss notification from the notification panel... It's way too big, and it is very annoying for me!
App works really well indeed, and I'm looking forward to try a couple of plugins!
Keep up the good work mate!

Thanks! Yes I know I'll ask try to find someone to do some icon design later on. Will become better. I am focusing on improving the usability right now and other performance improvements. They are all in beta now, and if no more issues are found in these versions, I'll be putting this beta to production.

Thanks, the problem with this is running as a service. Android will kill the app if it needs resources. I have tested it and it will kill it quite often and restart it within a few moments. I can add an option (a discouraged one) to disable running as a foreground service. I can also suggest the user to disable notifications for the app if running on jelly bean, and take them there. Another thought was the ability to set a 100% transparent icon so that it does not show up in the notification bar.
The upcoming version (current beta) adds the following features:
custom backgrounds on the sidebar
light and dark theme (dark theme is the current theme, light is like holo light)
better synchronization between appsi and the plugins. (less data loading needed and better user experience)
Improved getting started experience (visible hotspots until the user disables it and an arrow showing how to open the sidebar once the hotspot is touched)
For the next version (after the current beta), I will add the following features for sure:
Favorites manager: Manage the favorites in a proper way and allow for an unlimited amount of favorites.
Navigating between plugins with a simple swipe.
and possibly:
integration with live folders
widgets plugin (already working on this)
Thank you all, and if you have any more ideas or suggestions, please let me know!
May I add something to this already rich and awesome list?
I would REALLY REALLY LIKE to have the possibility to add shortcuts to the apps plugin (as I can do on the launcher screen, for example). That would be really helpful!!
...Maybe also an option to change app icons and names, and a way to hide the "X" for apps removal (which I find quite ugly, this function might be moved to a separate and specific menu to add/remove things maybe?) ?
you may also think about offering an "all plugins package" at a discounted price, rather than having to buy all plugins separately (which, btw, makes the sum of all prices quite high). So that the user can choose if selectively buy the only one or two plugins he needs at their actual price, or directly going for the full thing.. I hope it's clear what I mean!
Cheers and keep up the good work!!

May I add something to this already rich and awesome list?
I would REALLY REALLY LIKE to have the possibility to add shortcuts to the apps plugin (as I can do on the launcher screen, for example). That would be really helpful!!

Yes, the favorites manager will at first be used to replace the current way of adding and removing the favorites. But later on it will also be improved to allow changing names and icons. Also I am planning to do something with icon themes, I still need to determine how and what, but a new theming format is not what I am aiming for (we are talking several releases in the future now)
Shortcuts is definitely on the list of to-dos for the apps plugin. I can't say yet when it will be added but it is something that will definitely be there in the future.
Well beta testers are always very welcome. The XDA Android app testers community is a good starting point, https://plus.google.com/communities/100406373096097711894 . If you join this group and opt-in for beta testing at https://play.google.com/apps/testing/com.appsimobile.appsi you'll be able to get the beta version. I still need to add this community to the plugins, I will update my original post with the details when it is done.
Appsi sidebar is well beyond 1000 downloads from play store! Yay!
I really recommend this app guys, try it out and you'll see that it is even more comfortable to use than it looks!

This feature is included in the beta that was released today. I loved it from the moment it worked. Very good suggestion
Today the beta was moved to production. See the original post at the start of the thread for the changes
Very cool app and working great so far.

New Beta release, for all of you who want the notification icon gone, it is in beta now!
I'm joining this too.
Gonna try out.
Keep the good work.

New version released, 1.4 see original post for details
Newest version is great!! An awesome improvement, really!! Appsi is becoming more and more polished and feature rich, while staying lightning fast. Can't think of anything better!!
Now we only need some more theming options, like changing icons (as we do on launchers like nova, apex...)
Cheers and keep up the good work!!

Appsi crashing
Firstly, after 24 hours of using Appsi, I have to say that Appsi has become one of my favourite apps. It is well done and provides needed functionality.
However, from time to time Appsi freezes and the only way to get the sidebar back is to force close the app from the application manager and then restart the app.
I'm using CM 10.1 (Android 4.2.1) on Samsung S3.
Any idea why this is happening?
Cheers,
Eran

Never ever had a freeze or FC on Alliance Rom.. Maybe the problem you have is only tied to aosp roms and not stock or derivative ones?

[App 5+] SlimLauncher [Discontinued] [Fork | Open Source]

Since I don't have the time too support this project. At the moment I will not longer support or update this project.
Hi,
I want to share my fork of SlimLauncher, the popular launcher from SlimRoms. It is based on the latest 7.1 branch but works on Lollipop+. Since in the actual SlimLauncher many settings from previous versions are missing, I implemented the things, which I mostly missed. All features (also app shortcuts) from original SlimLauncher are working also.
Screenshots: second post
Downloads: third post
Added features:
dark/light theme
enable fullscreen mode
hide dock background
increase padding of folders in the dock
hide apps
Resizing icons
lock screen (gesture)
open notifications (gesture)
By users requested features:
Icon pack support (I think this is possible in near future)
Changing colours in app card (I think this is possible in near future)
Swipe right for Google Now (will not be implemented by me)
Google Search Bar (will not be implemented by me)
date on the desktop (Pixel like) (will not be implemented by me)
Notes:
This app can be installed beneath the regular SlimLauncher. The package name is "com.android.launcher3.unofficial", the app name "Launcher3". My source can be found here. I also started apull request on Github. Perhaps it gets merged...
Important:
I made this for my personal use. So if you want more features to be implemented or have some other suggestions, you can tell me but be patient. I have also other things to do. Don't ask for ETAs. If you want to help me, just contact me or fork my Githubrepo and send a pull request.
Thanks

Looks nice , clean, simple, and smooth. Don't have to much features. :good::fingers-crossed:
Thanks for taking the time to re-compile this amazing launcher.
I've attached screenshots from the classic v1.2, which had TONS of features that were for some odd reason removed from newer builds.
I'm currently running v1.2 on HTC M9 SENSE 8 Nougat, and it's working 99% well.

Yes I tested it also, but a few things I'm missing:
- fullscreen (who needs a clock in status bar on homescreen, when having a widget?)
- missing appshortcuts
- increase padding between folders in the dock (n needed of I use more than four items in dock)
Icon pack support would be great as I'm stuck with squares lol.
Filling that space after disabling search bar would be nice (in apps card).
Also. Resizing icons and layout in card apps.
I'm talking about place from screen.
is it possible to add icon support....that would be best.....simplest launcher with icon support ???
I suggest adding a date on the desktop (like in Pixel Launcher) only this thing I'm missing. Good job.
thanks for the dark mod ?
So interesting man, nice modern 'n compact design. I'm gonna try it later!
very nice launcher and indeed slim
Candy7 ROM comes default with SlimLauncher. This is a perfect candidate for replacement without going to another launcher.
Big thanks for this. ???

I will look at it, when I have the time next days... Even didn't recognize it, since I never disabled searchbar...
Sure. Changing colours in app card would also gladly welcomed.
Disabling Searchbar seems to be fixed. I'll test or a bit and upload an update tomorrow (of out works).

If you don't mind me asking, how do you have custom icons working? And what icon pack is that? They're beautiful.
Awsome Launcher :good:
Thanks for keeping it so simple........i would choose this launcher over Pixel Launcher.
I request you add some features
1) Swipe right on home screen for Google Now........like what Google Now Launcher offers
2)Google Search Bar and Date........Like what Pixel Luncher have
Thanks

[App][5.0+] Drywall - Wallpaper Management and Dashboard

Drywall is a wallpaper management and Dashboard combo, an open source alternative to Google Wallpapers. The app consists of 3 pages. A wallpaper management page, a featured page and a wallpaper category page. The app is designed to be a utility for wallpaper management and a custom homebrew built dashboard for wallpapers. I was alittle bored of other open source dashboards because well, who keeps an app installed in their device that just holds wallpapers. Your gonna download the one you like and be on your way.
The Device Page shows your current wallpaper. From this page, you may adjust the offset, blur it, clear it, or set a custom image as a background. The Dashboard is also smart enough to count all of the items currently available to you so you as a user can compare the change and variation in content over time. The app has a default count but as you start to browse, the counts will increase or subtract and the dashboard will keep track of this.
The Featured Page just show cases a specific category to the user.
The collections tab works the same way. These wallpapers can also be downloaded for personal use. Drywall will also find any other wallpaper providers installed on your device for other uses.
These wallpapers are loaded via RSS rather than JSON. Reason i use RSS because i use the Title, Description, Author, and Image strings of which RSS usually provides so it works for me.
Majority of my collections will be forked from Unsplash.
Usage
You are more than welcomed to use the code for any other projects but just credit me where needed. EX: Custom Roms, fork into launcher projects, implement in wallpaper Dashboard project or repackage as your own. Link here for reference.

Released an update yesterday.
This update migrated the application to AndroidX, updated dependencies and a slight revision to the user interface. Users have already noticed a huge difference in performance and wallpaper rendering.
I wanted to build a category for live wallpapers with my own interface but I haven't figured it out yet without tapping into mirroring.
Il be working on updating the seasonal category soon and bringing uo some new walls soon. I think a notification system is in store soon.

Winx Launcher developer is actually showing love for the Surface Duo

I am so pleased to share the launcher I have found that best complements the surface duo for those looking for an amazing launcher for this desktop tier device is Winx Launcher. I actually tried at least 30 launcher apps and of all of them (including the very similar computer launcher and other apps), I found the Winx Launcher to be the most powerful, elegant, compatible launcher for Surface Duo users.
What's more is that I am so proud to announce that literally two days after I shared my feedback of the app on Google play, the developer immediately responded with promises for even further Surface Duo specific features coming to add to the rare "foldable" device settings. Literally two days later he has ALREADY demonstrated a new update coming delivering further Surface Duo support! The developer does not even own a Duo but that was so beautiful to see our rare devices get individualized attention and so I encourage you to show support for this app if you are looking for a launcher that literally changes your device into a more professional one rather than a (sloppy highly restricted android experience designed for candy bars launcher like our stock version of the Microsoft Launcher)
Seperate your Duo from other devices and give this launcher a try so that hopefully we can all benefit from increased support because literally no other launcher I've seen seems to care about the rare foldable device users. This developer actually cares and is also extremely taleneted!
While the launcher is free and add free by default, it is literally 2 dollars to get access to the premium features however I believe he still offers a 1 week trial so you can access the foldable device settings which I believe is extremely worth the money considering it absolutely changes the whole way you may view & approach your Duo... And again, it's SUPERIOR to the other simular desktop like launchers, believe me I tried them!!!
I believe if people help showcase their appreciation then based on the urgent attention I received that it will expedite the developer to add the most desired feature I'd presume for us Duo users which is for the entire home screen to slidd to the inactive screen when an app is launch. I believe he can do this no problem, and that it's not a dream just something no other developers have cared to address (despite Microsoft giving them all the tools to develop on for the Surface, other developers haven't batted an eye our way even when trying to bring a Windows like experience to Android)
Also he did all this in two days, despite when looking for comments from other reviewers using my device mod, there was only one other person, as if he simply needs solid feedback to give him ideas of ways to further improve this already daily driver ready launcher!

And here is a video he just released today showcasing the new Surface Duo user optimizations and other updates already getting ready to be released!
Subscribe to him to see what he's up to like me!
If you love the fact someone is helping to fine tune such a core application for our devices you can even donate a coffee to him from within the app (might speed him up even further lol)
I'm attaching images of my customizations to hopefully encourage you that your Duo can also be as clean as mine with hard work and effort but if you'd like I could share my general settings which could size icons and stuff the way I have (even tho my display is set at slightly different dpi via developer settings)
BTW I'm using this awesome icon pack, but obviously I hand selected and replaced many of the typical ones with other ones, using the custom icons features.. Also I rename some apps. I haven't yet found great widgets but the app has support for widgets too in addition to the many MANY useful abilities you'll find..

HALO ICON PACK
I have decided it's easy enough to attach my settings if you want to quickly have a tested base layout like mine to start with, you might need to clean up the custom icons but maybe not but hey I have spent time adjusting this so just be happy I knocked out the fundamentals of beautifying it up for you. You should easily be able to use the offline back up restore setting to paste this folder in your documentz and then import in... The quick one drive backup feature btw makes it worth spending time customizing. I'm so pleased with this launchers impact on my Duo's experience, and have found its lighter on resources the the heavily crippled bland stock launcher
Also I attached my exact dpi settings... Note it looks even better if you haven't disabled windows level blur in the developer settings like me for benchmarking purposes... however I have it off and am too lazy to redo screenshots. And the system font I'm using (for those who know how to actually customize system fonts [root]) is CoconOrignial but I don't think that will make a huge difference between my screenshots and what you'll get with the base system fonts. I'm just trying to share some drip with you guys.
