I know that Xperia has a theme engine, and I managed to make a simple substratum theme that sets useroundicon=false which kind of works without root if you have substratum rootless. Is it possible to modify the bools of framework-res through Xperia themes too? If you want, I can explain how I made that substratum theme. I'd be really thankful if someone made an equivalent Sony theme that just sets useroundicon to false.
I would root and just modify framework-res, but seeing as you can't backup the DRM keys yet, or pass safetynet using magisk, the sacrifice is too large currently.
I don't have an XZ Premium yet, but I'm planning on buying one, and I strongly despise round icons. I know that there's icon pack support, and I will opt for it if I have no choice, but I would much rather go through the useroundicon=false route.
Any luck? It's a minor thing, but I find the round icons annoying as well.

You can download icon packs. The Xperia Home launcher supports different icons and shapes.
You can access the home launcher settings by holding the home screen and going to the icon appearance.

Either that or just use Nova Launcher instead of the default one.

I've never needed or bothered with icon packs before. Can you recommend a source or or a specific icon pack with "normal" icons?

Thanks, that is indeed an option but the default is sufficient for my launching needs and I prefer not to install redundant software if I can avoid it.
I already use an icon pack with Nova.
I'm talking about the framework-res.apk bool "useroundicons=true".

So what exactly does this update do?
Kind of hard to tell based on the screenshots.
Absolutely fantastic! I was hoping to get something like this. A simple very useful addition. Installed like a dream over Cyan Beta 4 + Smooth Black bar(metamorph)

Overwrites your launcher.2apk with a modified one with 2 buttons for dialer and web (lower part of screen)
FCs on Launcher2 (is this the updated launcher2?)
I'm getting many FCs using this Launcher2. This is very reminiscent of the Launcher2 of the original ROM before the latest Google update.
The update corrected the FCs but I suspect that this modified version is based on the original code (with it's bugs).
I'm not sure the modified version source has been released but since the concept is good (optimizing screen real estate) it would be great to get a version based on the new corrected code.
BTW the leftmost screen drops the phone icon and the right most screen drops the browser icon (although the functionality remains). Is this a feature or a bug ?

A couple i saw on alldroid, not bugs being reported by me
Just wondering, the browser button doesn't go to the last viewed webpage, instead it opens a new homepage window. Is it meant to be like that?
thanks for letting us know. the other button, phone, i know some people may realize when you're in a call and you go to the homescreen, pressing the phone button from the launcher doesn't bring you back to the call in progress- it opens up a new phone dialer, which then has no effect on the current call or anything
(lots of FC's). I have a lot of problems when going in and out of landscape mode.

Only for rooted phones?
So Since launcher pro doesn't really lend itself to being completely switched to the HTC Sense layout (though it's doable), and I prefer being able to have more than 3 items on my dock anyways, I decided to make a skin Based on The Sense bar that works more in the launcher pro environment. the borders between buttons have been removes, and there is less curve, so more icons will look ok on the edges. Still I usually have to scale down any icons I use though. Anyways, here's some screenshots.
The dock was made based on this file Credit to the original author.
I have included a few of the wallpapers I made that go well with this theme, and the original HTC Sense wallpaper scaled for the DX.
I HIGHLY recommend "Wallpaper Set and Save" to apply wallpapers, as it doesn't resample images at all, and gradients will still look smooth.
I am using Webst3r's SenseX 2.2 beta theme for the notification bar and stuff.

Also I am on 210 display density using LCD density changer.

Some of the launcher icons included are from scratch, some were modified from launcherpro's default icons.
This one is using the Labradorite.png wallpaper that I made, and the homescreen switchers for two of the shortcuts.
UPDATE V02: All the same icons the LP has by default are included in this in a form factor and style to fit.
The zip file includes a PSD file for the icons I have made already, in case you want to see my scale and make your own icons.
DOWNLOAD v02 This link is hosted by me. Please try it before using the attachment file as if there are updates to this, mine will be up to date first.
damn that looks great. actually tempts me to finally go through with deodexing (makes me hella nervous).
only the notification theme needs deodexing. the LP part will work fine without.
Thanks btw!
Looks great May use it on my N1. Shouldn't be an issue.
Thank you sir im gonna use this on my droid
Going to be updating this in a few minutes with all of the icons that launcher pro has, in form factor for this dock.
EDIT: The link now points to the newest version with the new icons.

haha yea i know, but i liked your setup so much that i went ahead and deodexed because i would like the same exact thing on my phone.
this is where you installed the theme from, right?: http://alldroid.org/default.aspx?g=posts&t=770
right now im on the early leaked froyo, is that what you're using? a lot of ppl have posted recently saying they're getting stuck in bootloop after trying to install the SenseX theme and i think it may be because of the OTA Froyo update. so being on the leaked froyo i'm hoping this theme still works. i'll go ahead and apply the theme based on your response.
well against my better judgement i went ahead and installed the SenseX theme lol. i only installed services.jar and framework-res.apk since i'm gonna be using your LP dock and didn't want the reskinned widgets. worked great, looks great. thanks a lot!
thanks, again!
How do you install this theme on launcher pro?? im lost

hey how do you do that background on the app menu? thats pretty cool
thumbs up for the theme and thumbs up for listening to Junip
INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Download the files
2. copy all the files to your SD-card
3. once installed launcher-pro press the menu key and select "preferences" --> Appearance Settings --> Dock background --> custom --> select the "dock" folder you previously uploaded to the SD-card and select the only file which is there: Sense-esqueDock.png
4. Long click somewhere in the dock for changing a shortcut --> decide which shortcut you want to use --> custom icon --> select one of the images you previously uploaded.
5. play around with the settings if you want to have scrollable dock: press the menu key and select "preferences" --> dock settings --> Number of docks and eventually --> Enable loop scrolling.
Hopes this helps..

I am not sure if we can make them that transparent - even when the values set to 100% transparency it looks like 30% tinted =( At least i could not make it more transparent
I don't know if fully transparent is possible, not sure if it's values + resources that make the softs like that, but the icons sure yea

I'm using GMD auto hide soft keys and lmt launcher but what I hate is that my ram goes to about 90 mb available and that's with some apps greenified, I used GMD gesture control also but my phone freezes up with these "extras" applied.

I also use a lot of extra (tasker, launcher gestures, lighflow, lmt, udn, various widgets) without troubles. Check what app are the most memory hungry and greenify or replace them.
FYI I tested a few fullscreen/navbar replacement and UDN not only appeared to me to be the most practical, but it is also very well coded, using an average of 4,5 mo on my system :good:

CALLING FOR SUPPORT ON NATIVE BLUR PROJECT
Hello community,
I really hate the fact that Samsung decided to NOT implement NATIVE BLUR into ALL OF THEIR software, for all phones and tablets. Only a few phones have native blur, and I think it would be possible to bring it to all tablets and phones, first for the above mentioned tablet, because I have it and could test it. I HAVE READ a few tutorials on this forum, but they are old and not up to the firmware. Are there any guys who would like to work on this project? Thanks!

I dont think that that would work, since the tablet doesnt have the native blur icorporated into the System UI file ...
But I already have this option "plus I can now swipe up and down to access my Apps drawer than to only press the Apps button to access the drawer."
Can I do the steps without root? Can i clone the app with an AppCloner App?
CSM Fol said:
The key to Native Blur is in the TouchWiz launcher that you are using. My Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 doesn't have Native Blur because of its launcher's version, but after I had manually updated it to v9.0.01.51 (an Oreo beta TouchWiz version), I now have Native Blur, plus I can now swipe up and down to access my Apps drawer than to only press the Apps button to access the drawer.

I really think that it doesnt have anything to do with the Launcher .. I think it is the system ui ... the same way with GoodLock i think or something like that, you can download a samsung app to change the status bar (notification bar) and when you enter the app you can enable blur BUT it doesnt work, the blur in the app doesnt work to blur the background of the notification bar
Im on Oreo, that works only on 9+ (Pie)
I just did ... no blur
I just got HUGE icons on the home screen
The blur isnt in the launcher it is in this: https://forum.xda-developers.com/ga...ide-how-to-add-native-blur-stock-rom-t3717950

I just switched from Nova to a KLWP preset based setup. The one I use is called CMX - Modern. It's completely customizable and has sweet animations. Everything you need on two screens. You still have Nova running in the background but KLWP powers everything.

Yeah it's not super intuitive, you'll need some time to learn which settings change what.
Once you start to figure it out, you can do pretty much anything though.
For this one, you'll need Nova set to 2 screens and CMX - Modern preset.
Remember these are Presets so you'll have to adjust the vertical and horizontal layouts of some of the objects so they look right on the OnePlus 7 Pro and your padding setup etc.
Check out the Global tab for quick changes the developer builds in. You can set to dark theme, change your name, the globe image, and change wallpapers and stuff here.
You need to reassign any of the objects to the specific app that you want to use. Even if Google is set to the Google app, go ahead and reassign it. Not sure why it just won't link out of the box, but go ahead and make those changes.
Feel free to reply here if you get stuck and I'll see if I can help.
