Awesome, i loved candy on my old samsung tab, nice to see it on our z
I have been testing many roms, and among all this has surprised me, the battery life is very good and next to the kernel Valyrian (for magisk) I feel it is the best! I look forward to new updates and thank you very much for your work!
Hello
i can´t make substratum to work i just have the option to Install the theme but i don´t have the option to Compilate and Install, does anyone have this problem?
New build :
Camera : switched to aurora snapdragoncamera
substratum update
sepolicy enforcing
bring Adaway
some kernel work : mainly CRC, f2fs systemless patch, Lionfish governor, ZZMoove governor
updates in device tree from lineage tree by Alberto
post flash :
if you don't need it, recommanded to disable adb in developper options and disable Unknown sources in security.
for battery if you don't use it, disable NFC
in developper options you can disable Animations (x 3 ) if you prefer speed (like me)
issue (may be) :
if you have some troubles with camera like "can't access to camera" error, (like some people experiment with lineage too ) i have found that disable camera permission to google play services in settings\applications and reboot fix it.

First, thank you for this amazing ROM!
I flashed and got setup wizard fc so I flashed a second time the ROM first , installed and then flashed the gapps.
So far it's very smooth I will report other bugs if I find.
Edit: there is a glitch with the navbar when the keyboard opens, the navbar buttons shift to the right. It's because the 3 dots menu button disappears.
Niiice, I ran slim6 on my moto e.

Thanks, you mean the battery optimization for the google play music , under battery settings ?
Did that and couldn't get music to work on any player.
Anyone else having issue while playing music ? I have no sound.
Edit: Poweramp is working fine.
When flashing the Super Su my SIM card stops working immediately after restarting the phone. I tried to install version 2.77 and 2.78.
Does it have volume button media controls?

Folks, you may get a SystemUI FC when you first boot the device. You can dismiss it with the power key and it seems fine but I think there's an issue with Bluetooth. I'll look into this later.

Well I've taken the original build down and uploaded the last version I have, which doesn't have the security updates nor rootless OMS commits. Everything works though. So for now, you can try that until I can sort out the Bluetooth issues. It looks like upstream LineageOS rebased quite a few repos, so I've forked them and I'm building to test...
Here's the build if you want to play with it. Be forewarned that once rootless OMS is good, you may end up having to clean flash.

Thanks... the pre-rootless-OMS build was near perfect... but then when you want the latest, greatest stuff, you sometimes take 2 steps forward, and one step back!
The March 8th build works overall fine. Running with the latest magisk. Performance is pretty smooth. Last time I used a Candy ROM was on my old grouper, used it until the storage kinda died. I'm looking forward to awesome stuff getting posted here.

- Toggle airplane mode to see if it fixes the problem. Please check your APN and Preferred Network Type in Mobile Network Settings. If your APN is missing, please share the APN you want me to add.
6. Why is the security patch in "About phone" outdated?
This ROM tracks CAF, which lags behind AOSP by a bit. However, you shouldn't be worried about this because CAF brings in the latest security commits even when the stated security patch level in "About phone" is outdated. Trust me, I've compared the commits of our CAF tag with the latest AOSP branch commits, and also with the Android Security Bulletin. Please just wait patiently for CAF to update the security patch string. I can easily change it and 'cheat' you guys, but I'm never going to do such a thing. So please be patient and know that your device has the security patches.
7. Facing odd drains and issues with apps (message notifications not showing)?
* Stop restoring them with Titanium Backup
* Stop using hacky tweaks
8. Google Play Services drains?
* Clean flash
* Stop restoring everything with Titanium Backup
9. Losing Magisk root?
* Don't enable the BusyBox option
10.Can I dirty flash over previous builds?
* Yes but you may face some issues.
11.Is it Pre-rooted?
* NO.
12.What about Google Assistant?
* Its in the Project by Default.

I really like the rom so far! Have been waiting for a good replacement for PN and except for the status bar theming issue there has been no problem at all! It's snappy, full of custumizations and battery-friendly (using EX Kernel though). I think this will be my new daily driver.
Hope more people will give it a chance, thanks for your work!

Thank you man, you're awesome ..
Good to see so many pie roms. This rom is very special.
Is device encryption bug still existing?
Wow finally pe pie is here
This highlight of the thread
Thanks to the poster.
NF1102 said:
1. Battery Saver automatically turning on.
A: This is not a rom specific bug, it is a pie related bug.
2. How to transfer from USB/Enable MTP?
A: Enable developer settings and inside it select File Transfer/MTP as USB Configuration.
3. GApps/Google Apps FCs/Force closing issue. [Fix credit - BLUE HACK]
A: Remove SD Card on first boot after installing ROM.
4. Notifications from Play Store not showing when downloading.
A: Go to settings, search for 'Data Transfer Tool', go to storage>clear storage>yes and then reboot your phone. Downloading status from Play Store should now appear in notifications.
5. Non-Certified Play Store. [Fix credit - mitchelldemarucot]
A: For most of the users, it shows certified on Play Store, but if yours show not certified then follow these steps:
1. Clear all apps in the background (Recent apps)
2. Open Settings
3. Go to 'Apps & notifications'
4. Click 'Google Play Store' > Storage > CLEAR DATA> Ok
5. Do the same with 'Google Play services' (To see this app, click the three dot icons at the top right corner and click 'Show System') [Note: This is an optional step if just clearing 'Google Play Store' doesn't work for you]
6. Reboot your device.
6. What are the GApps installed?
A: Pico GApps.
7. How do I enable on screen navigation and pie gestures?
A: Add this line - 'qemu.hw.mainkeys=0' to the build.prop in /system (without the ') & reboot and then go to settings and enable swipe up gesture (you can search for it).
8. Sim reset issues at every boot.
A: This is a bug common on all Pie-based ROMs out there, so this is again not a ROM specific bug, but hopefully it'll be solved soon.
BONUS: If you are coming from another ROM or another android version (eg. 8.1 Oreo) or if you are coming from a sGSI image then clean flash is recommended:
1. Backup all your data
2. TWRP>WIPE>FORMAT DATA>'YES'
3. Wipe>System-Data-Vendor-Cache-Dalvik Cache
4. Reboot recovery
5. Flash Pixel Experience ROM (No need to flash GApps)
6. Reboot to system.
Hit 'thanks/like' if this helped you.

FAQs -
Q1. How do I update it/Can I dirty flash?
A1. Yes you can dirty flash this update over the previous builds of this ROM, here is the exact way to do it correctly –
1. Go to recovery (TWRP/Orange Fox).
2. Flash the latest build.
3. Go to advance and wipe cache and dalvik cache.
4. Reboot and enjoy.
Q2. What are the bugs that are still available?
A2. Bugs that I have noticed –
1. Cast does not work.
2. Operator video calling doesn't work.
Q3. Can you confirm if all the stated changes are actually working?
A3. Yes sure. Here we go –
1. Add weather on lockscreen – Working.
2. Add ambient play – Working.
3. Removed XiaomiParts – Yes it was really useless.
4. Removed HD Icon – Finally it’s gone!
5. Removed pop-up for select SIM on every reboot – Yes! No more pop-ups.
6. Fixed LED not blinking – Working.
7. Fixed download notification – Working.
8. Fixed slow FP – Yes this is a major improvement.
Q4. Any issues with Bluetooth, Wifi etc?
A4. Everything seems to be working perfectly well including hotspot. Casting does not work.
Q5. Any issues with Network/Signal Reception?
A5. Yes, I can confirm this bug - the network/signal reception is fluctuating a lot and is not stable (Tested on Jio 4G VoLTE).
Q6. What is ambient play and how do I enable it?
A6. Ambient play is a always-listening music recognition feature from the pixel 2 phone that shows you information about the music playing around you. To enable it –
1. Go to settings>display>ambient display.
2. Go to Now Playing.
3. Turn it on and adjust the settings to your likeness.
Q7. How to enable weather on lockscreen?
A7. Here's how –
1. Go to settings>Security & Location>Lock screen Preferences.
2. Change the temperature unit to your likeness - Celsius or Fahrenheit.
3. The weather should show up on lockscreen.
Q8. Do you recommend this build?
A8. Absolutely! Vitor has done a wonderful job with this build. A lot of optimisation has been done to the kernel too so it’s really smooth and there are no lags whatsoever until now. I have been using this for 2 hours now and I love it.
If something is not working for you, or there are some bugs, then you probably have done something wrong, kindly do not blame the build or Vitor, though you can still ask for a resolution to your problem with kindness.
At last, a heartful thank you to Vitor for building and maintaining the pixel experience rom for our lovely mido, you are doing a great job friend!
Edit: I think I found a new bug – Theme settings does not apply on the notification panel. It remains dark themed no matter what you select in the theme settings - Automatic/Light/Dark - it just stays dark.
