My crazy wife just totally destroyed her Z3 Dual (+ busted LCD twice before). I also have a Z3 Dual and I am super happy with it still. It lasts 2 days on a charge and speed is more than sufficient. I'm considering giving it to her and getting something else, little newer. It has to be dual SIM with dedicated SD slot. Xperia XZ versions nowadays use hybrid SD/SIM2 slot and that's totally useless to me.
I can see Z5 Dual (6683) for about $400+ on eBay. Compared to Z3 it has uncovered USB port and slightly faster CPU. Premium (6883) with 4k screen is $500+, not worth expense, I think.
Reading comments here, it's seems like Z5 has quality and overheating issues. Would you buy Z5 again if you had a choice?
I would like to have the same question answered.
Buy Xperia X Performance instead

Xperia X Performance has a hybrid SIM 2 slot. To my knowledge, Z5 is last dual SIM Sony Xperia phone that has dedicated SD slot.
I both have z5 single and dual. Z5 dual cant handle multitasking and overheats instantly while using bluetooth and browsing the net at the same time. Z5 dual would freeze and restart by itself. I didnt experience it on z5 single sim though. Im planning to reflash the firmware and see if it would still restart.

That must be unit specific, there is hardly any appreciable hardware difference between single and dual SIM models...

Hi buddies, I´m still searching a good Android smartphone to replace my old Live Walkman. I´m looking for a mid range phone to use everyday, I´m taking so seriously the Xperia L, but I have some questions before buy it:
Can you tell me your Xperiance (jajaja) with the L? Tell me about bugs, sound, camera, screen, battery and performance. I´m coming to Xperia L family from the Live Walkman.
What´s the difference between C2104 and C2105 models ? Who´s the best one, or the universal one? Take the example between WT19a and WT19i models (Live Walkman). In my country only the Chilean models are aviable.
Some things I may consider to use this smartphone?
The Xperia L supports a San Disk 16 GB class 4 microSD :fingers-crossed:? Have you used it? I know it supports ´til 32 GB, but I heard about problems with 16 GB cards (like songs bug)
The Xperia L supports 64 GB cards?
How will I know if my bootloader is unlockable?
Thanks in advance, I´m totally a noob
Sorry for my poor English if you find any mistake
Fairly speaking, the newer Moto G looked like a better deal to me, but I'm really happy with XL
Bugs : The newest update (.14) removed most of them, I can't seem the notice the reported ones too.
Experience : From the first day onwards, the phone felt amazing, coming from a mtk chipset. Sound is loud, earphones are amazing (but some like nokia are incompatible due to different standards), the camera I was happy with from day one, no idea why everybody was complaining, but the night shots were terrible, which eventually got fixed. The screen is sometimes too bright, when reading at night, and is ample during the day. The battery, on normal usage (1hr dead trigger 2, an hour or so of calls, constant 3G, messaging) lasts around 18-20 hours easily from 100%. Performance? COME ON! It can take any damn game, dead trigger 2, asphalt 8, without any noticeable lags.
There's no real difference except the baseband I think. I have the c2104 model and it gave the same benchmarks as the c2105 so not much of a difference i'd say.
I have a 16GB microsd class 4 and it works beautifully. No bugs whatsoever.
No, XL does not support 64 gb sd but considering that even 16gb is sometimes too much for me, I'd say im okay with it
To know if the bootloader is unlockable, enter *#*#7378423#*#* in the dialer, it takes you to the service details (if i recall correctly)
Please do not forget to thank! I'm a newbie too, its okay

I can give you good, useful advice. I also used the Live with Walkman before the Xperia L and my brother has the Moto G which I have tested. Below I have given a comparison...
Xperia L vs Live with Walkman
- Live with Walkman: better screen sensitivity.
- Live with Walkman: better front facing camera.
- Live with Walkman: louder (stereo speakers).
- Xperia L is better in every other way, better specs, newer android version, better design (imo) etc...
Xperia L vs Moto G
- Moto G: faster/better processing power.
- Moto G: nearly AOSP experience, very fast/fluid.
- Moto G: android 4.4/Kit-Kat.
- Moto G: cheaper!
- Xperia L: better design.
- Xperia L: better rear camera (not front, front camera on Xperia L is awful).
- Xperia L: sony features (media apps, launcher, themes etc...)
Verdict
Go for the Moto G, unless your getting the Xperia L cheap (like I did ), the Moto G will do you better in the long run.
hi,
I own an Xperia TX and was thinking of upgrading to the latest Xperia phone but I still haven't made up my mind.
For me the TX is a good phone but slow. Flicking through apps is not as quick as I would like and I was wondering is the Z3 much quicker ? The screen I have is 720p and is good enough for me but I do like 1080p on my laptop. Lastly the thing that gets me is the battery on the TX, I use the phone a lot for video and browsing and I barely scrap though a day, minding my use is a chore. Would the upgrade be much of a boost ?

Quad Code 2.5GHz
+ 3GB RAM on Snapdragon 801
means
Faster Browsing
Smoother Gaming
and improvement in all aspects
+ High density FHD Display
+ Stereo Speakers & NC
and ...
all these means do it upgrade to Z3 :good:
Went from Z2 to Z3. Upgrade is not phenomenal, but in my opinion, worth it.
Yeah the Z2 is only out 6 months. My Xperia TX is kinda slow... was the Z2 ever slow when you had lots of apps running and jumping from one to the next ?
My Xperia TX is :
Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Plus MSM8260A - Dual core, 1500 MHz, Krait
1024 MB RAM
720 x 1280 pixels - 319 ppi

Go for the upgrade. there's more than enough of new things in the Z3 compared to the TX. You'll love the phone.
The biggest thing for general snappiness is RAM. The difference between 1Gb and 2Gb is night and day
2Gb to 3Gb is not gonna be quite so dramatic so (from a memory perspective) I wouldn't think Z2 to Z3 would feel all that different but since the TX is only 1Gb, you'll definitely notice the difference if you upgrade.

Sounds like a computer. I do like my TX, it does everything I want it to do but I could never pick the phone up and do exactly what I wanted to do in my head - I would have to wait till it unclogs itself from whatever is in memory.
Do you think 3GB is enough ? I use a lot of YouTube, Twitter, Chrome, email app, and its never done with updates.
Hell yeah, 3Gb is a ****load of ram for a phone. My PC is only running 4Gb and it's not even very old.
My Nexus 5 is 2Gb and I never see any lag or hesitation at all. It's blazing. It is running vanilla android but even if the Xperia overlay is a memory hog (which there is no evidence to suggest it is) 3Gb will be plenty.
I just checked out my phone company and they are already offering the Xperia Z3 Compact for €459.99. The only thing is that they don't do colours and its black only. I was looking for white, damn.
I own a IPOD Touch 32GB and I take it out with me when I'm cycling. The only thing is that it is not waterproof and its never done switching itself on and off again(kinda broke?). I wonder if you could bring the Xperia Z3 Compact out on a cycle. I have an arm band for running with the Ipod Touch, not sure if I could bring Z3c out running either ? If so I could dump my IPod Touch and instead just buy a bit SDCard.
Currently using a Galaxy S4 and want to change with a nice phone (duh). There is one question I'm asking - is it a good idea to get a phone with Snapdragon 801/805 instead of 810? If so, which would you recommend - Xperia Z3 or Moto X 2014? I'm worried that if I get them, in a year or two, some apps will only support 64 bit chips.

It's going to be a long time before anything but perhaps the most intense games require 64 bit over 32 bit.
Of those 2, the Xperia Z3 is definitely the better phone than the Moto X. The Moto X has its qualities, but the Z3 has the dual speakers, waterpfoofness, expandable storage, and like twice the battery life.

Do you think I should go and get the Z3 or wait for the Z4 (which we barely have news on)?

Personally I would go ahead with the Z3. Sony's Xperia Z line is rather iterative; the changes between successive models are pretty gradual. It is thought that the only major upgrade will be to the GPU from Adreno 330 to 430, according to leaked benchmarks. It is doubted that there will be any bump in screen technology, size or resolution.
Ultimately, your call.
I have HTC One M7 now planning to change and get other brand phone my previous all phone are Htc any body suggest what can i get or better 4 me.

Now looking at the X, I'm actually tempted to go and buy the N6, both the N6 and Z3 have got similar pricing where I live, but it'll be another week or two for me to decide on which phone to get.
Anyway, thanks for your guys' opinions.
Can I use all the roms and stash for z3 on the z3+?
Can I install xposed framework on z3 plus with Lollipop?
No for the first question as the chipset is different.
Yes for second question.
It's a great phone, the speakers and battery life are among the best, just don't get the T-Mobile USA version, get the international version as it has better build quality consistency.
I would strongly recommend the original Z3 over the Z3+
Snapdragon 810 is a battery hog. The 801 is far more power efficient and in almost all real-world situations runs faster than the 810 because it is much harder to driver it into thermal throttling.

I think so too. My Xperia Z2 got broken. I decided to go for original Z3. I even wanted another Z2. But definitely not a Z3+
I will avoid S810.
