Hi
You are right but the phone model was not mention...and this is the international S8+ forum ( Exynos) so I assumed we were talking about an Exynos model

Hi
That is a good start but maybe you may have better luck if you ask in the right forum..
https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s8+
At the bottom of the page you will see all the S8+ Snapdragon , US carriers , check out what is going on over there

This has never been international only forum. We talk about all versions of s8+.

yes we have root, we are waiting for the write up on, "the how to.."
most of the other threads are closed cause of the arguments and discussions of getting root, and not being patient for the release of the files. and the progress thread got closed also... but these are the threads to keep an eye on...

Did they block Samsung pay with rooted phones?

I can't get into Samsung pay now on my rooted Nexus 6 and it tells me it is because my device is rooted. Any workarounds? I know it used to work with my phone before while rooted....

This is probably a really dumb question, but i need to know... How do you make sure you order a phone that's got Exynos & not snapdragon?

[I wish we had] Root for s8 and s8+ (Snapdragon variants)

So it looks like chainfire has developed a root for the Snapdragon variants of the s8 using CF Auto root. Still no unlocked bootloader or TWRP but it's a start.

Check my screen shot below. This is for Snapdragon
I'm guessing it will block samsung pay from working?

The linky provided does not link you to chainfire dude. Give the right information or you are risking people bricking their device!

The EngBoot.img will be released within the next couple days. That means that root will come soon after that.
Delete this thread. People have already talked about this so much. Those files were released by a bot that generates it for any device. We don't have an unlocked bootloader, flashing this will fail. You're essentially baiting people and wasting their time.

Not going to buy it not worth the hassle and if everyone look the the gsmfourm they have it posted for the open public I see no reason to use it because the bootloader are locked not point what so ever

Root DOES exist on the S8 Plus CAN and US variants
I just went on Chainfire's website and the root DOES exist.
Just do CTRL + F or Command +F for Macs and type in the Model Number. In my case it was the G955W. So yes the OP is right and yes there is a root out for all S8 Plus devices for Snapdragon variants.
And no this is not a bot that generates it, this is the real thing.

Oreo for LG Flex 2

I found this link http://www.aosprom.com/2017/11/update-lg-g-flex-2-to-android-oreo.html
It seems to offer a way to import Oreo to LG Flex 2.
Can anyone tell if this is for real?

petraru1 is a senior member with 501 posts and 358 thanksmeter. I dont think he tries to fool anyone. Lets wait to see what he has to say. I have to admit that the site with the oreo rom seems legit (i have come across others that you could tell that they are fake).

Ok after waiting a few days i now have come to believe that petraru1 is full of s....t. Since bootloaders are still locked there is no way to import anything customized, as far as i know. So i guess there is no way this oreo rom is for real.
I was obviously trolling, forget about updates for this phone, it will never happen.
You can check for updates here http://devtester.ro/projects/lg-firmwares/ just enter imei or search for your country or model. And i am not trolling now.

I've read the instructions, and the fact that is says "Don't bother to Google or search for this, because I have uploaded it for you." makes me thinking that it's not real at all. Also, it would have been posted on XDA before that article, so no, I don't think so, But you can try

Can I flash on SM-G9650 Snapdragon version?
ZRJ7 is up on firmware.science
You need to be on ARI6 to flash, and it has to be US snapdragon.
It's very smooth and comes with November security patches. Must be from the future.
