Hi folks. As described in the title, can you post here any guide on how to root our device with /data and /cache formatted as F2FS? I tried rooting my device using magisk since chainfire's supersu dont work, but both of them are not working. Can you please show me the exact way? Thanks!

I want to boot the stock ROM from the SD Card. So i must know the Size from the /data, /system, /cache... Partitions.
Did someone know how big they are?
I need to format the partition with ext2 or ext4?

Ok guys, just as the title states; I am having no luck in converting my /data filesystem to F2FS using TWRP versions 2.7.0.0 - 2.8.7.0 and its f***ing killing me as every other aspect of the tablet works flawlessly. I have modified many tablets/phones and I most definitely know what I am doing so hit me with whatever you've got and I will understand perfectly.
I am on the latest version of the bootloader and its unlocked
TWRP .2.8.7.0 recovery
flashed omni 5.1 and changed /data from ext3 to ext4
All diagnostic access points (Fastboot etc) work perfect and I've also enabled NVFLASH and have brickproofed myself using flatline.
Anytime I go to Repair/Change and choose F2FS for /data it simply fails and says the following
"Unable to wipe /data"
"Unknown MTP message Type 1"
"Error changing filesystem"
This has been for "EVERY" version of TWRP from 2.7 to Current 2.8.7.0 every time I try and I am about to break this thing over my leg.
I do not ever post unless I have done due diligence and combed/searched through the the forum using any string and phrase I can think of relating to the topic. All instructions which involve changing to F2FS within every post related to the topic have failed me. Absolutely ANY help on this would be GREATLY appreciated!!
i will share with you my experience with flashing the tf300t and formatting. everithing went smooth... just a lot of preparation...
firstly i flashed twrp 2.8.x.x from kang
http://forum.xda-developers.com/transformer-tf300t/development/recovery-twrp-t3046479
than i copyed all needed files to my external SD card:
image file katkiss 5.1 #25
superSu
gapps image file
and K.A.T tool apk
device buttery must be full..
After being sure that i have everything on my sd card i entered twrp recovery and went to wipe everything exept of external sd card.
second i went to format /data to f2fs file system
third i flashed Katkiss image
fourth SuperSU for root access
fifth gapps
sixth wipe delvick/cache
Everyything went smooth as silk... hope that this helps you..
Hi floks,
I have a oneplus X phone (Onyx) with the weirdest problem with AOSP 8.1 (this rom). I am trying to mount my partitioned external SDCard (ext2 primary partition) in /data/sd to be able to move some app data to my card and free up internal space. Mounting works ok from adb ("su"+"mount -o bind /dev/block/mmcblk1p1 /data/sd") but doesn't work from terminal. I used Magisk to root my phone. I tried other methods such as fbind magisk module and all kind of apps like link2SD, App2SD, none managed to mount my partition from the phone. Mounting from the phone is mandatory to be able to mount at boot so my apps always work.
Can someone help me with that issue ? I'm a bit lost, searched a lot around but couldn't find anything. Maybe it's kernel related, or systemless root, or the way the rom is built. Note that android sees my partition and can mount it by itself on other mount points (unmounting it before mounting doesn't help)
Hello guys.
I have a problem with my tecno y4
firstly, i flashed a baseband zip and it success but not. after it i got a problem /system /data /cache can't be mounted or wiped.. 0 storage
i tried all ways but only system is mounted after changed the format of it to ext2 then ext4 again but the /data and /cache still the same can't be wiped or anything....
i don't have any backup
I also tried to format data and i couldn't
i have the stock rom but i have another problem with my phone it's not connected to pc i guess there's a broken ic or chip in phone because it's only charging and pc can't detect it even in device manager for manual driver installation.. all i have now is twrp 2.8.2.0 and no os installed,
i'm stuck..
should i throw my phone??
please help me i don't have phone now and I'm not able to buy i new one i really need it...
