Wi-Fi Calling, one of the big service improvements Freedom Mobile promised when it rebranded from Wind Mobile, is now available.
To start, the feature is only available to LG V20 users, with support for additional devices coming at a later date (additionally, the device needs to have been purchased directly from Freedom). Moreover, to enable the feature, Freedom Mobile subscribers are required to register their home address with the carrier due to regulation related to 911 calling.
1. Update to the latest software OS
2. Turn on Wi-Fi settings on your device
3. Tap on the Settings menu
4. Connect to an available Wi-Fi network
5. Choose “Call” menu
6. Activate “Wi-Fi Calling”
7. Select your Wi-Fi calling preferences, such as when you want Wi-Fi calling to be in use.

Figured I would give you guys that are using this phone on Freedom Mobile's network a big heads up.
Hello,
I have Huawei watch 2 sports with LTE.
I am only using it for phone calls and to attend calls forwarded from my phone. Not using for data. I could not find a way to off the data connection keeping the sim connection intact in the watch which we can do in android phone. I want to off the data connection as it is draining the battery about 12% per hour.
So if anybody knows how to off the data connection only in Huawei watch, kindly help me.
Also if there is any reliable method to root the watch , kindly help me
Thanking You
drsaidalavi
Took me a while to find this as well!
Apps > Settings > Connectivity > Mobile > Mobile ON
Apps > Battery > Smart Power Saving > ENABLE
Custom > Mobile Data OFF
This leaves all the normal call/receive functions but does not allow mobile data to activate.
Enjoy!
In settings > network & internet, the mobile network option is missing. It looks like I may be missing an app?
I have a working USB modem that is connected, with a correct APN and good signal, yet am showing a "No service" in the status bar. My hunch is it has something to do with the missing mobile network option. Any help appreciated.
Hi all,
I am facing a serious issue in the Contacts app of my new Google Pixel 7 Pro.
When I call somebody and they answer their phone, the call shows as "Private number" in the Recents tab.
If they do not answer, then the contact name is shown normally, as it should.
Take a look at the screenshot here: https://postimg.cc/jL1yT1NX
All items shown as "Private" are calls that I made and they answered.
I've searched online, but find the thread on Pixel 6 section Pixel 6 Contacts Bug related to this issue with no solutions.
The bug is releted to provider (Italy Fastweb for me) but as I read that the bug is noticed in hungary, germany and other countries
Any insights could help a lot.
Do you get the same issue in a third party phone app?

Yes, I have tried various dialers with the same behavior.
I tried with another provider (Italy TIM) and the behavior is correct.
I have never had these problems with the previous cellphone Pixel 5.
same problem of pixel 6...(fastweb)
Check your Calling accounts settings...
Phone > Settings > Calling accounts > Your SIM > Additional settings > Caller ID.
- Network default (whatever your network provider defaults to)
- Hide number (will attempt to override network provider defaults and hide the number and show up as Private number)
- Show number (will attempt to override network provider defaults and show the number)

Tried all the checks with no luck...is very strange, this behavior come only with specific provider(Fastweb for Italy).

The only other suggestion I have is requesting a new physical SIM / eSIM.

Did you try calling the network operator? It definitely looks like the operator has some configurations at the network level causing this.
LOL I confirm it's a pixel (7 pro, in my case) + fastweb issue. I had a OnePlus, same operator, and no issues.
Quite annoying
Same here, Pixel 7 Pro + Fastweb
If you are rooted
Check your carrier settings xml file
There might be some setting that you might be able to change
Same problem. Did you solve it?
Hello guys,
I used to have the same problem until yesterday. Today I attempted an outgoing call and unexpectedly did not face such issue. Maybe they fixed it.
Can anyone confirm it is behaving correctly, or is it just me?
italy+ fastweb today problem of private number is still present....
Spain + Jazztel and same behavior, some randome "Private Number" calls that should show my contact name
Pixel 7 + Fastweb (Italy) same problem. Started not a long time ago (maybe 5 days). I've had the phone since December 2022
hi, purchased this phone second hand locked to t-mob. Speaking with Samsung, they says that it was sold to Sprint. I'm Tmob customer.
Working Samsung, Spring, Tmob my attempts to unlock the phone failed.
Interesting that if I go Settings>APPs, I can find App info for Network Unlock. But the application is hidden. Any way to start it? If not any recommendations how to unlock it?
I was reading here, this all new to me but I gathered that U5.0 Android 13 is impossible to flash to stock FW. Is this correct? Thank you.
OMG i just unlocked a moto e with the same app. Its not hidden its somewhere in settings. Sorry i came across it by pure chance today and was so excited when it worked that i dont remember exactly where it was.
But I saw it in Apps just like you and wondered where it was. Try putting in another SIM card. A message box will pop up saying that you have a new SIM and if you want to network unlock. If that doesnt work just search through settings. It will just be a Button but when i clicked on it, i was asked if i wanted a temp or permanent unlock.I chose permanent. and was accepted right away
@explicitKC - good! But in my case the app is not there. Here is what Tmob says on the subject.
And reading more I see that flashing stock FW will not Unlock the phone, unfortunately. But some web sites advertise the service. Pre-req. is to have phone connected to PC and they will use it to unlock. Dont want to go there as they may drop whatever they want on the phone if have malicious intentions.
