As per title, any of you found where is located the boot sound folder for the Pixel?
If so, thanks for sharing!
The bootsound is in the bootanimation.zip and you can to Sound -> Other Sounds and remove sound on boot

It should be as simple as using an application such as "root tools" where it allows you to change the boot animation. Or you can use a file explore such as "Adao File Manager" after root access and going into the boot files and replacing the animation with one of your own...

It will be with a custom kernel that allows for bootanimation.zip support.
Suppressing Sound on Boot Animation
Hey Imnuts,
I know we had codes through the dialer for suppressing boot animation sounds for the fascinate. Anything like that for Charge that you know of?
Thanks
Zeek

The binary file for stock boot animations is /system/bin/samsungani as an FYI
I found the files, pulled it, edited it with the new images and pushed it back. Yet it plays the same animation. Any ideas?
Bump, anyone? Im sure someone knows the problem... Thanks.

..custom boot ani support is kernel dependent...must be done by a kernel developer

Thanks man but as of right now we cant modify these, right?
So I used Root Explorer to rename the poweron.wav to poweron.wav.bak, and now I have no retardulous bootup sound!
Has anybody tried renaming the bootup animation files to or replacing them with null files or something? I wouldn't be surprised if it results in failed bootup.

The above sounds intimidating, but I would be stoked if somebody posted a walkthrough.
I was thinking it might best be left up the ROM developer, but I'm sure many people on a given ROM would want the boot animation. I would like it disabled, or better yet, I would like to see what the phone is doing (kindof like Windows XP Safe Mode Startup)
Hi I was wondering if anybody knows if there is a way to make boot animation sound any louder? I've got the razr boot with sound working but it is extremely quiet. Thanks

Try the attached file.. it's loud (unzip, and the .ogg file is in there - xda said the .ogg was an invalid file type, so I just zipped it).
I'm assuming you know how to swap the files so i won't go into that (if not, just ask, or search).
In general, I don't think the boot animation volume is controlled by the system volume, so I think you need to amplify the original sound file with a sound editing program before you put it on your device..

Ok so I have my boot animation installed and working but can't get the sound ogg file to work. My desc.txt file is properly set.
It used to work great on my bionic but cant get it to work on the GS3. Where in the world do you put the darn sound file?? The original desc.txt also states that it will read the sound file at /system/media.
Of course I put it there and it doesn't work. The sound file is called bionic.ogg. anybody have any idea?
Bump?

need rom, and set up before anyone is going to touch this for response. All ROMs are different, i think, but would help
:cyclops:
Just running the newest stock rom out right now with lean kernel
Hi brother I have flashed custom.ROM mokee 6.1 mm but I want to add sound during boot can you send me the procedure and samples.. Plss help
First select your tone that you want to set as boot tone. Download a file converter and convert tone to .ogg format and rename it to poweron.ogg or something like that. place these tone to /system/media folder.
If it helped. Please thank me.
