Looks like I'll have to bring my charger to work.. - Samsung Galaxy S8+ Questions & Answers

So I got the s8+ two days ago and I gotta say, I'm not that impressed with the battery, my nexus 6p was more reliable.. Just got home from work and had ~17% left with 3.5h sot. This means that when I get home from work I'll have to charge my phone for half an hour atleast before I can go out and enjoy my spare time, I can't just go out straight from work
Anyone have any pointers?
Some key notes, no wifi at work (working within the government in Sweden is retarded)
And the 4g is pretty weak.
Brightness is around 50% and I have disabled bixby and 100 other services (package disabler)
Played games for like 1h
Some browsing, no video watching
Nobody called me during the say because I'm an asshole
That's pretty much it

Two days isn't really a good test to see what the battery life will be like. Especially since you are installing apps and setting up the phone.

I suggest use a black theme to save battery, as AMOLED screens doesn't need much power producing black color.
Also in the bottom of Battery settings, there's "always sleeping apps". Add all apps here that you don't need running in the background.
Also disable mobile internet if not needed, or at least turn on data saver.

Yeah im happy both of you responded to me, I do realize that 2 days is way too soon to judge the battery, and I am not going to do so, you are both right and I did follow the advice you posted, got all the apps I don't need running in the background etc! Thanks guys, let's see if I end up with more %tomorrow after work

WOW! I wonder what's draining you so quickly? I'm getting right at 7hrs SOT with no WiFi and marginal cell service at work!

You must've disabled an app that keeps pinging the system. Try to enable all apps and go from there. You shouldn't have to disable anything. Just watch for resource hungry apps like Facebook or Snapchat

Yeah im not enjoying this.. it's been 3 hours, barely used the phone and im down to 80% already (30 min sot)
I renabled everything in package disabler again, won't be using it untill people get more comfortable and researched in the subject of matter.
4g signal is pretty bad at work though, and these idiots dont have wifi lol. (getting like 1-2 bars)

Maybe it was package disabler causing the problem, if you disable something which something else relies on it might constantly try and connect to the disabled package causing battery draining
if you do continue to have a poor experience i definitely suggest using a pure black theme, This will boost your SOT buy a few hours minimum

I did re-enable all apps within package disabler again in the morning, im at 65% now thats 5h battery usage and 1.5h SOT.
How are people getting 8-9 hours SOT... HOW
also I am using a black theme atm, it's the "high contrast" on samsung theme store
I appreciate the help

You may have a dud. I'm coming from a 6p too and I usually have about 30% batter at the end of the day when I was shutting down right before leaving. I run a dark substratum theme with brightness at 35%. I get 6hrs but I stream video and game off and on.Give it a few days and if things don't improve try a new one.

Hey man. I had this same issue when i bought my phone. Apparently my phone wasn't going into deep sleep mode. Install an app called CPU spy and you'll be able to see if you're phone isn't going into deep sleep due to an app. If your phone is going into deep sleep but you still have battery drain like that. It could be a defective device. Btw the issue I had was facebook app. I disabled it and now I'm getting at least 8:30 hours sot.

I'll look into that theme, thank you for the tip Vermicious!
I am going to install cpu spy, I do use facebook, i dont know why tbh, might actually disable it and might just use the messenger app whitch is the app i pretty much only use anyways (for social media)
I have verified that I can return the phone unlike my note 3 that I bought a couple of years ago (battery laster 4 hours first charge, wanted to return it but since i had peeled the plastic off they rejekted it lol, such dicks xD)
Other than the battery being a big off the device is absolutely incredible, I am happy I gave samsung another chance, (I had sworn to never use a samsung device again after the note3)
again, many thanks for taking your time to look into my issue!

"Hypermiler" (Battery Life) Tips

This is a little bit of a boast, I guess you could say... but also educational in a way.
This is my most recent battery life. I found that when I posted my screenshots, people think they are faked in some way. (Posted it here and other GS3 forums) They are not. I am using the stock battery my phone came with. NOT an extended battery. And you can see from the battery graph that the phone was not charged. I guess this is to show that you can use your phone heavily, and still get amazing battery life.
I am using the stock jellybean leak. Not rooted or unlocked.
This is everything I have done to get good battery life.
-I turned the LED touch lights off (I don't like them, they're so bright)
-I have all vibrations off. My phone does not ever vibrate.
-I have power save on.
-I have S-Voice "wake command" off.
-I have motion control disabled.
-I am almost always on wifi (work & home)
-When I am on wifi, I turn mobile data off.
-When I am going to bed, I put my phone in airplane mode.
-I rely heavily on the task manager, I clear my open windows and under the "RAM" tab I clear memory. Probably once an hour.
-I have my sync OFF. I check my email manually.
-Auto brightness.
-I never partially charge. I let my battery go all the way down to 1% then I charge it to 100%. Always.
-Always have a dark background, if possible.
Thats everything. Mind you, I didn't make or receive any phone calls on this cycle. But I did use my phone, as you can see I didn't just let it sit around. Device idle was like 3%?
Anyone else a "hypermiler" like me? I don't get this much screen time every time, it ranges from 5-7. I've gotten more than this and I've gotten less.
Hope this can help even if it's only a little.

-Clearing the ram too much actually drains the battery more because certain apps will have to auto start again every time you clear memory
-Keeping it at around 0-30% all the time should save you more.(I can still see my screen during the day at 30%)
-That doesn't do anything.

-Are there no A/C outlets in your bedroom?
-What the previous guy said, this is a stupid thing to do. Java was designed around efficient use of resources, and restarting running apps (which would happen, unless you have them removed entirely) would use more processing power than you had saved by not having the tasks running in the first place.
-Using Auto is causing the system to periodically poll the light sensor, draining more battery than used otherwise.
-This is how you kill Li-Ion batteries (one way, at least). The whole spiel about discharging fully, THEN charging fully or the battery will have some sort of "memory" of capacity less than actual capacity is how Ni-Cad rechargables work, not Li-Ions. Li-Ion batteries are the opposite. For superior life, keep them topped up as much as possible. FYI
I hope THIS helped, more than a little.
There are plenty of outlets in my room. Lol I just don't need to use them that often as you can see also I hate getting calls and messages in the middle of the night but I use my phone as an alarm sometimes so airplane mode just seems convenient.
This is just what I do. I mean, some of the things I do may not help at all. But this is what I do with Android phones and I've always gotten really good battery life. I've always, always gone down to 1% then charged up to 100% and I've never had a battery go bad on me. Then again I only ever keep a phone for 1 year. I do know that these batteries don't have the memory problem, I just can't bring myself to not fully discharge or charge. I have mild OCD, for real. Little things like that brother me
I'll play with backlighting to see what that does for me.
I've gotta be doing something right. Idk about the task manager, I've just always liked not having programs running if I don't need them to be. I know they arent "running" but it just gives me peace of mind, I guess.
Thanks for the recommendations I will try them.

You getting really good battery life =/= you getting the best battery life possible.
I have pushed ~2 days of battery life without charging many times on my GS3 (with all the bells and whistles running, just mobile data turned off when i'm not commuting), i just don't have a reliable measurement because:
1. I'm flashing mods/roms/kernels/whatever multiple times per week, and
2. I usually charge my phone when it's convenient, which is fairly often.

I stopped flashing because of my OCD. I mean, I'm not crazy but it causes perfection issues and all the ROMs I was flashing had glitches here and there and Idk if you've known anyone with OCD but with the perfection issue, those glitches were all I could think about. So there went flashing. Lol.
Also comes into play with the charging thing. You seem knowledgeable in what you said but even though you said keeping it topped up is best, in my mind, that's destroying my battery. Lol. I really do appreciate your info though.

I read your post and the first thing that came to mind was, "there is medication for that, you know."
Here's my .02. My battery never lasts that long. Not even close. I'd feel disappointed if it did. I bought my gsiii with the intent of gobbling up unlimited data and using the oc'd processor to run apps till the phone is so hot I have to set it down. I've burned up almost 6gigs of data since the 7th. I get around 4 hours of screen on time most generally. I also throw it on a charger whenever I have the chance. My battery rarely dips below 50%. Like others have said, full discharge cycles are for ni-cad batteries. Li-ion doesn't benefit. Good battery life for me is the lg flip phone we have on a diff line that lasts a couple weeks.

Okay, okay, as long as you admit it... I'll stop being a snarky jerk. I'm totally the same way though. Perfectionist to the core.
It's a very bad idea to let the battery go down to 1% regularly, lithium batteries should be charged more often for better life and more cycles
Sorry but I still just don't believe 7 hours of screen on time. 4 is above average even amazing screen on time for this phone and stock battery. I suppose there is the possibility of using 0 percent brightness, or even lux brightness or something similar to get the brightness even lower.
You said you use auto brightness, I'm sorry I just don't buy it.
People with the extended batteries are getting 7 hours of screen on time not stock batteries.
7 hours of screen on time is literally double almost every other phone on the market with stock batteries. I really fail to see how having minimum usage and a high performing rom will get you double screen on time.
Edit: with that said, in my current situation I will never have wifi access plus I tether a lot so I really have yet to personally see screen on time since I rooted. Before root and stock I got about 3.5 of screen on time.
Not trying to be a douche or anything just very curious about how 7 hours comes about.

you dont get 7 hours because you are not doing what op did for perfection, and you just like other "4 hour" guys in this thread. I can confirm 7 hours usage is totally possible and what left can support one day idle time when you turn off data etc. Iusually dont do that because I like my phone work at full functionality, but I also like tinkering around to keep maximum use of juice, by eliminating wake locks and autostart.
killing background helps sometimes because some stupid apps keeping using cpu after backgrounded. op go and get a iphone, its perfect for OCD since it can get zero unwanted background activity, amazing idle time and stable usage with relatively easier configuration and tweaking.
1% is NO. 1 battery killer, heat is NO. 2, top up at 100% is NO. 3. Li based battery is at best 40%. but plaese its just a phone, charge and use anytime you want. phone outdated way earlier than battery.

While I understand what you're saying I think you misread my post. I was strickly referring to the screen on time which 7 hours of screen on time with stock battery is inconceivable. 4 is about the most you would normally see.
7 hours of USAGE is common.

I got 7 hours screen on time with the stock battery. The battery says "3.8 v li-ion battery"
I've gotten more than this is the past but I've also gotten less.
Like I said you don't have to believe me but... I'm using the stock battery.
And to the poster who mentioned to get an iPhone - I have one for my business line

put my phone through the paces with fantasy football.
held up pretty well. stock battery mind you. on pace for nearly 8 hrs of on screen time. This isnt with typical use though... With typical use I can get 20hrs and 5-6 hrs of screen time. I thought anywhere from 4-6 hours of on screen time was what people were suppposed to be getting.
Yeah we all use our phone differently. I rarely actually talk on the phone with my GS3 because I use my iPhone for that. But everything else I do on my GS3, reading news, some browsing, xda.

Then I shouldn't use the word "usage". I meant 7 hours screen on time. Sometimes I got 8 or more, but only use it continuously after charging, no idle time.

Yet that involves turning off data. IMO the smartphone should always stay online. In my experience, iPhone can get constant -4 ~ -5ma juice flow during idle even with data (2G) and all the push notifications on, which are the only things I want for stay online. I feel its hard to get similar result on my GS3 though.

I'm always online, whether it's wi-fi or 4G. Luckily I have wi-fi at home and at work.
Like, literally as I'm walking out the door of my house, I turn on my mobile data, and when I get to work I turn it off. When I'm leaving work I turn mobile data back on and when I get home I turn it off.

what you did is pointless. If you leave data on, data is not connected when wifi is connected, and it will connect automatically when no wifi connection.

It's not pointless to me. As I said a few posts before... I have OCD, obsessive compulsive disorder. Things like this affect me. I know that being connected to Wi-Fi that data is not connected, but in my brain, it's as if something is telling me that because my data toggle is on, it's running.
I really can't help it.

Note 3 battery drain...

Ok so i've seen a few threads between here and other websites regarding the Note 3s battery issues but felt the need to make my own as I still haven't found any kind of solution.
I purchased my Note 3 N9005 (I live in the UK) around a month ago and ever since my battery has been terrible ever since. I am basing this on the fact that I have owned a Note 3 twice previously (I managed to get one just after they came out for a reasonable price second hand and also owned one around 6 months ago for a while) and battery life on those two devices were fantastic.
Around a week and a half ago I decided to root and try a couple of roms to see if it would make any difference after making sure it wasn't my SD card causing the problem and couldn't really try anything else. After going from the CMRemix, CM11 and Echoe 5.0 not a great deal changed on each after using each one for a couple of days, every day my battery gets hammered by 'android system' and 'android os'. After seeing a post about it I have gone back to stock touchwiz using the 4.4.2 Nordic firmware. This made no difference either.
I have posted some pictures of my battery life since getting up this morning. I always have sync turned off and my screen is always just above the minimum brightness. Im on Wifi a lot between work and home which in theory should use less power. I've been playing contest of champions quite a bit recently which I would expect to be a battery drainer but it is still beaten by my screen and this android system and OS combo. I also don't get why battery dropped around 18% (30 something to the 15% warning) in around 20 minutes which is the red line on the battery graph. Last Friday I went to sleep with my battery on around 78%, when I woke up it had dropped to 42% with no apps left running.
I'm literally out of ideas. I've tried everything i've seen on forums and it hasn't worked. I've owned an S5, m8 and z2 but ended up coming back to a note because they are simply fantastic phones. I am however seriously considering selling this and getting a different phone if I don't figure this out soon though. Can anyone help or is this simply an unsolvable problem caused by horrendous software implementation, or am I being stupid and should be content with 13 hours irregular battery life???

Thats just not normal, try to use app wakelock detector (from playstore) to see what apps are currently running, you can also go to the device app manager and then go to "running apps" and then see what apps are running on backround, that would give you a general idea of where are the battery draining apps. Then all you have to do is to disable/freeze them , using the inbuilt disable option under the app settings or using a third party program like app quarantine (from playstore). Note that i also recommend you disabling apps you dont use , like for example samsung apps etc.

Thanks for the advice. I even ordered a new battery from samsung which arrived this morning but that doesn't seem to have made much difference either. If I hadn't seen similar cases to mine i'd think my phone was broken but honestly I'm starting to think that is down to samsung software and won't ever be fixed. It's a shame because the Note 3 is the best phone i've owned but ill be steering clear of samsung devices in the future

If I hadn't seen similar cases to mine i'd think my phone was broken but honestly I'm starting to think that is down to samsung software and won't ever be fixed. It's a shame because the Note 3 is the best phone i've owned but ill be steering clear of samsung devices in the future

Use Greenify to hibernate apps..it will save ur battery..
Greenify is a big help. Also use Titanium Backup to freeze or uninstall anything with the word 'Samsung' in it that you don't need (they're terrible, in my experience).
Some other things that can help are turning off GPS and Bluetooth when you don't need them, raising your wi-fi scan interval if you typically leave wi-fi on in areas you're not connected, using an app like AutoStarts to control what apps wake up when, and you should check what apps you have auto-syncing, and how often. If you don't need gmail and facebook to sync every 5 minutes (just an example), then change the interval. And unless you spent a good bit of time playing it before you took those screenshots, I would highly recommend ditching that Champions game.
Aside from that, another thing you might want to consider is trying a different kernel. Some kernels are just bad on battery life.
I'm on my original, stock battery, and I get 22-26 hours typically, with moderate usage, and anywhere from 6-10+ hours of screen on time. Right now I'm sitting at 18h5m29s with 5h26m3s screen on, with 27% battery left.

Trying a custom kernel is something else I'd though about. It's crazy that you've got those battery stats. My brightness is always near minimum and I only get 4 hours on a good day. Judging from posts I've read those android os and system percentages are accurate for the note 3 nowadays. I never have sync turned on so that can't be the issue. I've got this phone on ebay now so if I don't sort this out in the next couple of days I'll be moving on unfortunately, bit sad as this is the best phone I've owned

I'm in the same boat. Stock 4.3 with tons of apps frozen, greenify doing its thing and Google Play Services tamed as it was draining the battery. To me everything looks ok in WLD but I have noticed that something called 1013 which is always at the top with most amount of wakes, is that system audio? I also have screen brightness on minimum, powersaving mode on, bluetooth and gps off, sync on and most of the time usually on wifi networks.
I have managed 6hrs screen on before but when using device moderately over 2 days I get 4 hrs screen on time at best, usually 3 or 2.5 hrs.
The 6 hrs was managed when I watched 3 movies in a row, it seems sleep takes more than it should? Wake ups are a problem?

Yeah something has definitely gone wrong at the core of the phones software, especially when different roms and stock firmware builds are making no difference at all. I flashed AEL kernel yesterday so i'm seeing how that goes today. I'll post screenshots when i get home from work, so far my batteries only dropped 10% in 3 hours but thats with 30mins screen on time.
Had similar battery draining issues, I froze Unified Daemon (EUR) this appears to have fixed it.
I have faced this issue after my phone got the last update.
Even the android system was consuming more than the screen.
I removed Google account and put it back again but this time i limited the Google features that do the sync to the required only, gave a full recharge, the second day the android system consumption decrease a bit.
I gave it a full recharge cycle each day for the next 3 days and later it came back to normal.
I hope that helps.

I had the same problem. for months and no solution anywhere. what I did was to downgrade back to jellybean. this is the only thing that seemed to stop the drain. though I still believe my battery was much better on the initial jellybean.

[Q] Battery saving tips

Hi all,
Although I am more than pleased with the Ascend Mate 7 (silver edition) battery life, I was used to try and save as much battery as I could on my Gnex.
Do any of you use any apps or settings on the Mate to stop it's battery from dropping when the screen is off? I've got Greenify installed as well as Amplify, but although apps are hibernating I still get that popup that app X is using battery in the background. I've also got the usual strange wake locks keeping my device from falling asleep (*backup*, framework services...) , but I'm trying not to get too bothered by them because I know nothing about those sort of things to start messing around.
What do you do to keep the battery life to a maximum?

Battery life is fine for me, I like to have speed so no power saving for me, brightness high (auto), everything allowed data etc.
I just dont worry about battery life, a day of heavy use and I still have a bit left so all is well.

It is the modem that is the biggest battery drainer in this device. best battery tips is use wifi if possible...
This will give you a few more extra battery life.. up to 9 hours screen on time.

Hmmmm. So you say: kill mobile data when you are on wifi?
Do you know of an app that does this automatically, switching between wifi when there is a trusted network and using data when there is not?

This is my observation, people who use minimal amount of 3G or 4G data and wifi instead is those who get 9 hours Screen on time.
People who use no wifi and only 3G/4G and maybe 200-400 MB per day are those who get 4.5 hours of screen on time.
This is nothing unique for this device however this modem is for sure not the most power efficient modem out there..
This is also the reason why people get astronomical differences in battery time.
Do you guys use titanium backup? What apps do you freeze?
I've got it installed but lack the knowledge to use it safely. I am interested to know as well, also which system/stock apps to uninstall safely

Had my mate 7 delivered yesterday. After using it till 2% battery I then charged it up for about 4 hours till fully charged. I took it of charge and went to bed. This morning it says 76% how can it use that much power in standby? It did have a notification about Google play services waking up many times. Any fix? Surely this isn't correct for a phone to do.

Hi @vimto25 I don't really know how to shut down the google play services wake ups. I've tried to use System Tuner to limit the wake locks like in this and this thread, but ultimately I found it made things worse on my Mate 7. Have you installed Better Battery Stats to see what is really keeping your phone awake? Then just search around this forum for a solution or post your wake locks in the better battery stats thread!
Could it bee (this is a laymans opinion) that since this was your first time, your email was busy syncing all your mail?
Hopefully someone else really knows how to help you out! At night I always use the ultrabattery powersave option and never lose more than 10%. And if I do, I usually have a strange wake lock myself, like google play services, *backup* or framework.

I only have 25 emails synced which they synced when I set the phone up earlier that day.
I have looked how frequent it.synced and it said every 15mins which sounds very frequent but all my devices I've had emails syncing around 10 mins.
But I'm guessing it's email that's my problem hence why it said 40% with over 1 hour cpu time. Hmmm I've changed the sync time but I can't see that helping much.
I think I'll do what you have done by enabling power saving mode at night. I currently use normal all the time.
I LOVE this phone just need this small problem sorting.

It would be nice if someone can list some information on how he has set up his phone for battery performance.
Anyway i always use ''smart mode'' of the battery,
i have 5 email accounts in push , always pushing , but my battery on 8 hours a day of screen on and messenger chatting, on mobile data or wifi always on its battery lasts like 1day and 3/4 on !
you can enter the phone manager app and disable the user apps from booting up. just live the ones you need, like whatsap, messenger, google service, gmail, super user or smth else.
Hope it helps !

So far battery isn't very good for me but I can see it has potential so it's how the device is set up the end of the day. Samsung Galaxy S7 Battery Life

Hi,
It has been a week since i bought my s7. I was not quite pleased with the battery life. It was just ok. But now it is getting worse.
battery is 10% at the time of writing this.
Total usage is 22 hours
Screen on time is 3 hours
Android system is taking 23% battery
Screen 19 %
Facebook 17 %
Is this normal? I was expecting atleast 4 to 5 hours SOT?
I have the AOD turned on. Sync is always off. I dont even have the mobile data turned on. I mostly use wifi for facebook and browsing.
Any suggestions on how to improve it?
Aod takes 1% in 1 hour. Facebook takes too much but its known issue. Facebook knows that too and making fix right now. You can disable and enable it and then it will be ok.

Though I own a S7 Edge, the following is from my experience with Note II & S2. I am not facing this with S7 Edge.
When I get a new device or get updates, I do a factory reset and start over. Just clearing the cache doesn't help.
I am using Package Disabler Pro to disable apps when not required and it doesn't require root access.

Disable aod. Aod doesn't let doze kick in. So idle drain with AOD is 2-3% per hr.

Hello, I'd like some help about battery drain too.
I've been using my S7 for 4 months and never made factory reset after the OTA updates.
Today, for example, the battery level fell down from 100 to 43% in 6 hours.
I've taken some screenshots from battery usage screen and the items described inside de Android System item, which is the most drainer one.
If you could give me your thoughts and forgive my poor English, I'd appreciate!
I had the complete opposite to you, well in the first few weeks anyways. It would take like an hour to kill like 3% and I left my phone at 60% once, left it overnight without charge and only dropped 2% - This was the case a number of times
Fjesuino. I wiped my cache, and the battery time did improve a little. Try it out, it might work. But i think there is something wrong with your device android system and sd shouldn't be that high.

S7 Exynos and back then I didn't really use AOD. It wouldn't be fair to show battery usage right now though as I'm using quite a heavy custom kernel.
As well as all the other tips you're getting above, I'd recommend flashing the Hydra ROM onto your phone as there are a lot of features to save battery. It ports to the Note 7 and you get features like reducing screen resolution, reduce background processes, it's even got its own RAM manager.
Personally, I don't see the battery as that much of an issue though and I do bash my phone a lot through the day as well.
Have you got a lot of apps installed? Do you have a SD?

The phones here in pakistan are mostly "smuggled" or imported. I have an imported one from canada g930w8, so it's without warranty.

Google App Causing severe battery drain??

Anyone else seeing this? My Google App is causing severe battery drain. It's been off the charger for 3 hours, sot is 1:52 and battery is at 85%. Google is accounting for 17.4% of drain and only active for 6 minutes and background for 12h7m. I have it set to sleep when not in use. I was watching youtube this morning for 14 minutes and it only accounted for 1.3% drain.
Yesterday it accounted for 20.3% drain and only active for 6m and background 13h 21 m. Day before that 11.5% with active 7m and background 8h 14m.
This is weird. Coming from a Pixel 4XL and didn't see this much battery drain with so little use.

Has it been doing that since you got it? How long have you had it? Because usually Google is saving a lot of your stuff and creating backups in the background but you can deny background activity by going into the app and ticking the slider over to deny background activity but that might preven automatic backups and saves.

That's not normal.. is there any updates to that specific app or able to tap uninstall on it to roll it back to a possible previous version?
Edit: this is the screen I'm talking about to stop background activity.
I guess it's still not showing the pictures that are being uploaded.. I'm going to talk to the owner.
I'll try rolling back any updates, but I do see when I do a general internet search that other people have had the problem with Android 10 and Samsung devices. Most have fixed it by disabling the app. But that's not an option I want to take. LOL
I've cleared cache and rebooted. I'll see if I still see a large battery drain. If so, I'll uninstall and reinstall and see if that fixes it.

By the way, do you have a ton of apps and pictures and all kinds of stuff on the phone? Because if you do the carrier's don't give very fast upload speeds and if it's trying to save a ton of data it's definitely going to take quite a while on carrier data.. I'd use a business or someone's wifi if possible so it can do it quickly.

I have a lot of apps disabled and yes you can still use it, don't know anything about kilallapps though. If I charge my phone to 100% before going to bed and lay it on the table until morning in 10 hours it won't lose 5%. depending on what apps you have installed may not be quite the same. And yes it puts the phone into a deep sleep. You can have it turn bluetooth, wifi and others off while in doze

If I charge my phone to 100% before going to bed and lay it on the table until morning in 10 hours it won't lose 5%. depending on what apps you have installed may not be quite the same. And yes it puts the phone into a deep sleep. You can have it turn bluetooth, wifi and others off while in doze
