6. Open Solid Explorer hamburger menu (left side), press the 3 dots button, Storage manager
7. Press the Plus floating action button, then:
8. LAN / SMB --> Next
9. In Server details you should see your PC if you've set up home group correctly and the sharing options above. Tick that --> Next
10. Fill in your Windows username and password, tick remember password --> Next
11. Check in Review window that it's all right --> Next
12. Connect, Finish
13. Press the computer name / folder name item in the list to browse your computer and/or shared folder(s). When you come back later, just open the hamburger / left side menu and press on the computer / folder name.
Enjoy
This way it works great for me on my OnePlus 3 and Surface Pro 3 running Bliss-x86. Easy, wireless, secure and pretty fast file transfer and streaming!

Shortcuts to fullscreen pictures?

Hi all!
I've just become an uncle for the first time and want to show EVERYONE the picture of my gorgeous, 7 weeks premature niece. Set it as you wallpaper I hear you scream in frustation at the monitor! Alas, I can't live without HTC Home anymore. So how do you – and indeed can you – set a shortcut to a fullscreen picture?
Thanks for your help!
Dotting Uncle XaN
set a shortcut to a fullscreen pic?
you can try making a normal shortkut to the pic you like associated with a picture viewer most of them launch the pics in fullscreen hope I made my answer correctly
which shell are you using?
in MOST shells you can create shortcuts to whatever you want.
I'm using the standard WM6 shell. I take it I should link to the pictures and videos app but what do I put as an operator(?) after that?
Thanks again!
you must make the link straight to your image not to the application if you link the application it'll launch the application only
Okay, here you go, follow these step:
1. Long Press your desired picture, choose "copy"
2. Open File Explorer, go to, windows/start menu/programs
3. Long Press in the blank area the choose "Paste Shortcut"
4. Rename the file that generated in programs folder with your favourite name
5. With HTC home, just go to program tab, then choose "Add (+)"
6. Choose the file that generated, that you have renamed
7. Choose "OK"
8. There you go, everytime you choose that icon in HTC home program tab, you will have your favourite picture shown
Here you go the screenshot taken from my ROM, to make it more clear for you,.

This short & simple tutorial will allow anyone to remotely/locally search files on your home pc/local network/laptop in less than a second.Tried & tested this method on edge/wifi.
Step 1: (Ctrl+P) Goto Tools -> Options -> HTTP Tab
Fill in the desired port or leave as is.
Fill in the user name and password for authentication
Note : I have an android phone , so for me downloading only worked when the authentication was removed during configuration.
You can remove this authentication if download fails.
Step 2: Start the HTTP Server.
Step 3: Url Formation - http://[yourip]:[port]
If you are accessing your files remotely. You can find your global ip using http://whatismyip.com
Eg: Remote Url http://123.231.31.192:8080
If you are accessing files locally through wifi , find out your host pc's ip address
Eg: Local Url http://192.168.2.1:8080
Open the url in your mobile browser and search your entire pc/laptop
You can see search takes less than a second.Download speed as per your network.
This is just a straightforward method , so it should work on any mobile/tablet with a basic browser.I am not affiliated with the software in anyway.Hope this tutorial was helpful to you.
Update: It did'nt work for me on Opera Mini. For every other browser works fine.
Would highly appreciate a feedback.
Press 'Thanks' if this post was useful in anyway.
Well written and laid out. I'll give this a go. Thanks!
Good post.. Cheers

[How-To] Wireless PC to Phone File Transfer via LAN [Easy][Free]

I recently started looking in to ways to transfer files wirelessly over wifi and was surprised at how little info there is here on xda. Though there are quite a few ways to accomplish this, for now I discuss one which is easy, free, and offers the option of remote (as in from your couch) manipulation of files on your PC as well.
The first question you might ask is, "why". Personally, I transfer a lot of files and I always worry about damaging my usb port when connecting to my PC many times a day. Also, if you already damaged your usb port, this offers a faster and more simple alternative to uploading to Dropbox or Google Drive, then downloading to your device. And if you have wireless charging on your device, you have the option to go (almost) completely wireless.
Feel free to use this thread as a place to discuss and share other methods of wireless file transfer.
Anyway, enough intro. On to the guide...
What you need:
A PC (this guide is for Windows 7)
A phone or tablet
ES File Explorer
Wifi network
This method should work for just about any phone or tablet, and any PC.
Limitations:
This method in general is not as fast as usb transfer. As such, it is not really practical for transferring large amounts of data (as in gigabytes).

}
Phone screenshot
1) On your PC navigate to Control Panel, Network and Internet, Network and Sharing Center.
2) Click on your wifi network, Details, then write down your IPv4 Address.
3) On your phone open ES File Explorer, then navigate to LAN and hit the + (New) icon.
4) Enter your IPv4 Address, and user name and password for your PC.
5) Still in the LAN tab, click on the new PC icon. You have now accessed you PC hard drive from your phone!
At this point you have numerous options. I created a folder on my PC desktop named "Transfer" where I drop files to copy to my phone (you can find your desktop from ES File Explorer at Users, <your user name>, Desktop). Now I simply long-press the file to transfer, select "Move to" from the "More" menu, then select the destination on my phone.

[Guide] How to share audio during a phone call

Hello everyone!
Ive been struggling with this one for a while.. and finally I got a good solution. so lets dive into it.
the big downside for this method to work and its the fact that your PC will be doing the lifting here so it will work only when you can use your PC.
Here's what you will need:
- Any phone with bluetooth capabilities
- A PC with Windows 7 (this is the only one that work for now.... thank Microsoft for that)
- PC bluetooth adapter and installed driver.
- VAC software - Virtual Audio cable installed
- Windows media player (you can copy the settings here to any player)
1. Pair phone and PC using bluetooth (pretty simple)
2. Open VAC control panel, set "cables" to 2, make sure "line" and "mic" are marked, click "set"
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",
"lightbox_stop_slideshow": "Stop slideshow",
"lightbox_full_screen": "Full screen",
"lightbox_thumbnails": "Thumbnails",
"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
3. Now go to the speaker Icon on the bottom right of the screen, right click, "recording devices"
4. You will notice theres 2 new devices called "Line1" and "line2". make "Line1" default device.
5. choose the Microphone you would like to talk through in call, right click it, properties, go to "Listen" tab, mark "listen to this device" and from the list choose "line1".
6. Repeat step 4 for "Line2"
7. Go to windows media player, click ALT (in your keyboard) , Tools and Options. under "devices" tab click "speakers" and then "properties". from the list, choose "line2". save and close.
That's it!
now connect your phone and make a call. the call will go through your PC to the microphone connected to it and you can talk normal.
To play an audio so that the other side can hear it, open media player and play it. the sound is being played using digital audio so this is the best quality available.
If you want to hear the audio as well there is another small step:
8. go to "Start", Virtual audio cable, click "Audio repeater [MME]". in the window, under "wave in" choose "line2" and under "wave out" choose your speakers. click "start".
I hope this help as I know there are so many pepole asking for it.
Enjoy!

[Guide][ROOT] How to download & use AdAway

Welcome to this guide for beginners, hope you understand everything, if not ask your questions below.
----------- IF YOU'RE IN A HURRY ------------
Here's the direct link: https://f-droid.org/repo/org.adaway_57.apk
1. Install the app
2. Grant it root permission
3. Press the "Download files and apply ad blocking" button.
4. Done
----------------------------------------------------
Now for the full tutorial with extras:
First go to adaway.org on your phone or PC and scroll down to Installation and click F-Droid (Blue Button) [Or use the direct link]
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",
"lightbox_stop_slideshow": "Stop slideshow",
"lightbox_full_screen": "Full screen",
"lightbox_thumbnails": "Thumbnails",
"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Then scroll down to download apk (Otherwise you will download the F-Droid market) and download the app.
Once you install it and run it the first time there should be a popup asking for root permission. Tick "Remember my choice" and grant it root permission.
You're finally ready to start so press the "Download files and apply ad blocking" button.
It will take a little bit of time (depending on your internet connection), because it downloads the hosts file from different sources (which we'll learn about in a bit) and then merges them into the actual hosts file on your android.
When if finishes there will be another popup which asks if you want to reboot your phone (it's recommended but not necessary). I usually tick the box and press no, but it really doesn't matter.
Congratulations, you're done!
----------- ADVANCED SECTION ------------
1. ADWARE
Here you'll learn about blocking adware and adding/editing source hosts files.
First of all Adware means all the apps that AdAway can't block because they use (for example) Airpush notifications and other stuff. AdAway recommends uninstalling those apps, but I never really had a big problem with them.
If you press the three dots in the top right you can see the "Scan for Adware" button.
2. EDITING HOSTS FILE
If you press the same three dots as before and go into "Hosts sources" there should be four ticked boxes. You can leave those alone or untick them if you want. If you press the + button on the top right side you can add your own sources.
I recommend going to: https://github.com/AdAway/AdAway/wiki/HostsSources and choosing from a wide variety of sources.
3. OTHER STUFF TO DO
If you're still not satisfied you can manually edit the hosts file by clicking on the three dots in the main menu and choosing the third option from the top ("Open hosts file").
Also useful are the preferences which you can access at the very bottom of the 3 dot menu. There you can set the "Check for updates" when AdAway starts and also unhide the dialog that asks if you want to reboot. There are many more options which you can check out yourself.
Hope this guide helped you and if it did leave a like or a comment. :laugh:
