I'm wondering if this is typical. I'm running DU with EX kernel. Cell reception was spotty for most of the day - would this cause such high Awake (Screen Off) time? Is there anyway to break down Android OS and Android System battery usage to determine what exactly is causing the drain?

The battery life on my Desire is horrible, and I would like to acheive some of the great battery performance I've been reading of other members. I've got LeeDroid 2.1a A2SD+ ver., with the 38.44 radio (I installed older versions in hopes of acheiving better battery). I am now getting far worse performance then when I had new versions of LD/radio, because "something" is draining the battery. ie. Before, I'd get 15% loss per hour during the day, and 1% loss per hour at night during my sleep, with the screen and wifi ON, (using GentleAlarm night clock, which shows the time but on a dimmed screen). Now, I have a 75% loss during 8 hrs of sleep! I even installed "Juice Defender" (Pro ver. with "Ultimate Juice"), which turns off wifi for a few hours, etc. It did nothing to improve battery life, or possibly made things worse. I tried uninstalling some programs, but nothing's changed yet. How can I find out which program or configuration is causing the battery drainage problem?
Battery Indicator Pro stats (8h40m since unplugged):
DISPLAY: 42%
CELL STANDBY: 26%
WIFI: 25%
ANDROID SYSTEM: 5%
PHONE IDLE: 2%
Quick Info stats:
Running: 95.9%
Screen on: 95.9%
Wifi On: 95.7%
Wifi Running: 95.6%
Wi-Fi drains faster than anything, if you're not using it then shut it off! Also, 15% drain per hour during the day and 1% at night isn't that bad. I would switch back to your first configuration. Maybe you're not taking into account how much you're really using your phone?
Well I'm comparing battery performance when I am NOT using my phone at all (during my sleep), and its night and day. When I was getting 15% per hr, 1% loss at night, that was with wifi ON (ie. JuiceDefender was not installed then, and it cuts off Wifi at scheduled times). I'd like to switch back to my first configuration, except that's my prob lem: I have no idea what that configuration was exactly. Lots of programs installed and uninstalled since. I'm going to take a look at a few apps though that might help me understand how to control battery performance.
OSMonitor from the market. See what may be hammering your CPU. Real time read out of CPU usage broken down by each process.
good day. From my Fascinate using the XDA app.
I just upgraded from GB to ICS - CM9 (cm-9-20120830-UNOFFICIAL-galaxys4gmtd.zip) on my Samsung Galaxy S 4G. After upgrading I put a new battery (original OEM) last week only.
But still I an getting very poor battery life..
When I check systems battery...
Most of the battery is consumed by "Standby Cell" ( > 40%) and "Android OS" ( > 20%)...
I have taken following steps to try out improving battery life...
1. Installing "Battery Booster Lite" as well but didn't helped.
2. Reducing Max CPU frequency to 400
3. Changing CPU GOVERNOR to SmartAssV2
4. Reduced brightness to 15% and sleep time to 30 sec.
5. Changed Wi-Fi settings to turn off on sleep.
In addition battery booster turns off wifi, data in night time and while on sleep.
But none of the above helps. In stand by battery drains out almost 5-10% in an hour. and if I use (for anything call, app, gps, data or just check settings) the phone it drains out almost 2% in a minute.
With GB i was getting atleast 35-40 hours life with moderate use. but with ICS it's not even 18 hours. And it's very hard to keep the phone on charging every 6 hours.
Please suggest, what should I do to improve battery life?
Thanks.
I'd read the thread on CM9 that is even on the page here where you posted -- this has been discusssed ad infinitum over the last two years.
Search xda for better battery stats (free version for us here). Install it and check to see which app(s) are causing the drainage (wake lock).
I just installed CM 11 on my xperia V but then I'm experiencing this terrible super fast battery drain. It's been 3 days. The first night I installed it it drained my whole battery while I was asleep. Usually standby time is great before I installed CM 11. Maybe its because of the sony stamina extended standby mode thingy. Last night, I reckon that it's probably because of the background process and the wifi, so I reboot the phone (so that all apps are killed) and didn't turn on the wifi. It eats 7% of my battery. Dafuq???
So, I checked the battery stats and 82% of my battery is used on android system. Then, I turned off location access. Brightness is at its lowest. It was on aeroplane mode. Bluetooth is off. I underclock the device to clock only at 1 ghz and i clear all recent apps. Only the wifi is turned on. I only left it for half an hour without even touching it but my battery went down from 100% to 93%.!!! Can you imagine?? This sucks. Can anyone please help me with this issue? Imagine after an hour my battery would be at 80%. That means i can only use the phone for 5 hours!! That is without any connectivity at all with slow processor and low brightness. If I were to push it to the max it would take maybe 2 hours of usage. I uploaded the battery stats included with this thread.
Fully stock SM-N920P. Only seeing 1.5% in Deep sleep since buying the phone. Average between 55% - 60% at 400Mhz. Something's off (IMO). I use System Monitor, GSam Battery Monitor, etc and Android System seems to account for the most battery drain which I think is OK. Screenshots attached. Any idea how to get the Deep sleep time up?
Is it me or when screen is off this phone still drain noticable amount of battery like 5% in 3:30hrs. P. S. No app is running in background. The battery usage shows xiaomi service framework and google taking 20% of battery total.
Edit : just saw on standby mode - radio battery drain is using up my battery, any fix for this?
I was also getting a 7 - 8% overnight battery drain which was unacceptable, however, I used the adb debloat tools to remove most of the shady systen apps that xiaomi pre-installs on the device and after that the drain doesn't happen at all. My phone sleeps like a baby with only 1 - 2 % drain overnight.

Is there a way to determine which miui tools are the ones draining the battery?
