I925 Note 10.1 - Galaxy Note 10.1 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello all,
I have my brother's Note 10.1 that he wanted me to put a newer custom rom on so that he could use a more recent version of Android. He bought this used. When I look in the about section of settings, it says the Model Number is SCH-I925. Which according to Google and Samsung websites is correct, it is the Note 10.1 first edition. If I type the model number into the device search bar here in XDA it comes up as a phone. So, through some research, I was at least able to find out this tablet is not the 2014 version (Looked at the camera and it only goes up to 5MP so must be original version). However, I am not seeing any roms with the I925 in the title. Most are for 800, 8000, etc. So just looking for a little guidance. I am no stranger to flashing roms so I can work my way through the actual process. But usually the model number matches the roms and at this point I am not getting any matches.
What says you guys?

Thats the Verizon model .
I dont know of any roms .

One S S3 vs S4 ROM Support

Hi,
To all the dev:
As we all know,there is 2 derivative of One S.S3 1.7ghz vs S4 1.5ghz.
As far as Custom ROM,is the ROM same for both platform??(EG:ROM for S4 flash into S3 and vice versa)??
The answer to this question will be one of the main deciding factor
Unfortunately,my region's One S come with S3 i think
From what i have read on this forums various threads, few people have said that it should work on both, though i haven't tested it yet myself because i am happy with stock at the moment.
My country has S3 as well and i have to say that it's a cracking phone, works like a charm.
Oh and greetings to everyone, this is my first forum post although i have been lurking in these forums for a while now!
So any input from developer??
I'm No developer soo anyone feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.
My guess is that there will be no issue regarding roms except for the kernel, assuming both models (S3 and S4) have the same partition tables. Since kernel is the one that controls hardware you'll have to flash your corresponding kernel .
Isn't the screen resolution different as well? (720HD on S3 vs. QHD on S4)
Apparently not :

What is P3113?

Hello. I've never owned a smart phone or tablet of any sort. I'm trying to root and I keep seeing things like P3113, P3110, P5100...I'm trying to figure out which one I have. What do these mean? I have a Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7". When I look in the "about device" section I don't see anything like any of the things listed above. Model number is SCH-i705, Android version is 4.0.4...What am I looking for? How do I find out?
Write the model number in google and see
Or try to dial *#1234# if you can
Or see the back of your tab soooo small fonts
Or see the packaging of the tab
I think it is verizon wireless as this link ( variant of tab2 branded by carrier) if so do not use files in this tab2 forum to root or so it may brick the tab as internal hardware may be different so files and roms etc here do not apply

Yes, I did buy my tab from a Verizon wireless store. I didn't know that would make a difference. But yes, I looked on the back of my tab and on the packaging and everything and I don't see any P- numbers. Only SCH numbers. This is frustrating. I've looked and can't find any information on rooting a SCH-whatever tablet.

I have a Samsung Galaxy S4 But it's a demo version, HELP

Hello!
My friends told me you guys could help me here, so here my story/question:
I got a Samsung Galaxy S4 from my work and I can keep it 2 months. I need to promote these phones.
Samsung gave me a free "demo version" of the Samsung Galaxy S4. I can do almost everything with it except calling.
How can I remove the "demo version" and use it for these 2 months as my own phone ?
Thanks!
I have one to,
Already try root/CWM didnt work...and i have put a "normal" rom (last one) and wifi stop working.
Im trying now to find a place with the devo version rom, but can’t find it
To make phone call it’s impossible because doesn’t have the hardware to make it.
i have the same problem. no way to fix it.

[q] at&t sgh-i497

I got this Tab from someone who did not want it anymore. It has 4.1.2, stock it looks like. I see many updated for the P51xx. It looks like it may be the same thing, but since Tabs are a new thing, always had a Note, but went to an S4 for work, so wanted the Tab to read on and web browse.
Should I follow the directions for the P51xx for my tablet? or just the ones that say SGH-I497?
Specs:
16GB AT&T 3G +Wifi
Android 4.1.2 (Stock?)
Baseband-i497UCMF2
Thanks in advance. Have a great day! :good:

Different firmware for a Samsung tablet

Hey there, I recently found out Samsung Galaxy Tab S4 will get a DeX mode and thought about how to get it on the previous flagship tablet of Samsung - Tab S3. I have one and I really think that DeX mode will be a nice thing to have on a tablet with a pen. We all know, that Samsung can add that feature later like it did with S9 camera functions on S8 with last firmware update. So there is the question: is it possible to install a Tab S4 firmware on a Tab S3? They have different screen ratio but that must be all differences out there. Maybe hardware home button also. I read about installing different firmware on Android tablets but often people said something like "the devices must be nearly identical to use the same firmware" and all that stuff. But really, the only thing that is really alarming me is the software buttons on Tab S4. I think they will float there for no reason if it si possible to install Tab S4 firmware on Tab S3. If you know something about a different firmware on Android device, please, tell me. Thanks.

It is possible to flash a firmware from a different device but they have to be of the same hardware chipset. For example, some models of US versions of Galaxy S3 can share each others firmware, but the S4 cannot use the S3 firmware.
But, generally speaking(95% of the time or more) flashing a firmware from a different device results in a hardbricked device. This is mostly due to differences in bootloader and modem. I have a Galaxy S3 SCH-S968C(Straight Talk) that can use the custom ROMs from the SCH-I535(Verizon) because they are virtually the same device BUT the SCH-S968C CANNOT flash the SCH-I535 stock firmware, it results in a hardbricked device, even though they are the exact same device.
There is no definitive answer to your question other than it is "possible" to use another firmware. But it is ALWAYS a special case scenario because you have to research the devices in question to see exactly how similar they are or are not.
There are cases of devices from one country being used in another country by flashing the firmware from the country the device is being used in, but it is not possible on ALL devices.
