Google Play Music consuming humongous amounts of battery - Moto G 2015 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Around a couple of weeks back, my phone battery started draining really quickly. In the battery settings view, I could see that Google Play Music is consuming huge amounts of battery.
I have tried reporting the app, so far gotten no response. Other measures such as Force Close, removing permissions, restricting background data access haven't had any effect as well.
I even performed a factory reset a couple of days back, reinstalled all apps, but to no avail. As a last measure, I disabled the app (restore to factory version). Although after I did this, the battery hogging didn't stop, in fact it increased. And it's almost using ALL of the battery. Refer screenshots attached.

Any help is hugely appreciated!

If you are root you can remove the app with system app remover.
If you are not, try to turn off auto download and cache music while streaming.
Also that probably sounds dumb but have you tried some other versions of the app?

I'm rooted with the GB 2.3.3 update and stock battery with Juicedefender and Setcpu installed. Battery life has definitely made a difference over Froyo and I'm pretty satisfied with the fewer trips to the wall-charger. However, I was wondering why the camera and gallery takes up 46% of my battery I haven't used the camera and I've tried restarting it the phone, but they still persist in the battery list. Anyone with a similar issue?
I don't see an issue. That doesn't mean the camera is still running. It just means you havn't really used your phone for anything. With the power saving settings you have, and the fact that you hardly used the phone in two days, you could have used the camera for 3 minutes and probably would have counted for 20 %
You don't wanna know where this was sent from.
I thought about that too. I did put the phone into airplane mode over-night and also used it to play music with the screen off for a couple of hours, which it why the levels might indicate like I hardly used the phone. But that's the mystery, I never used the camera, at all over the past 2 days.

Galaxy Nexus and incredibly HIGH data usage!

Hi everyone,
I hope that this question is out of place and that someone here can provide an answer!
In the past week, my cell data usage and/or wifi usage has gone through the roof and it's all coming from Android OS. I have not rooted the phone, so it's the stock kernel. I am currently on OS 4.0.2.
I have included several screen caps showing the amount of data being transferred. I have checked all the other apps and they are showing a very average amount of data transfer. Android OS is consuming the vast majority of it!
Does anyone here have a clue as to what could be the culprit?
Thanks,
RMFlagg

Under accounts and sync do you have background data and auto-sync checked on? If yes that could be the problem because i think that counts as an android system procces.
Everything is set to sync, the problem is that services like GMail, Google +, Currents, Reader and the like all have their own catagories. They show fairly normal data usage, but Android OS was consuming at an alarming rate!(I have since had to turn off mobile data)

Can someone make sense of my data usage?

So I after a long time saw what apps were consuming data on my phone and its rather disturbing what I saw. This is one month's figures.

Why on earth is talkback using that much data when I dont even have the service enabled??
Next up is nova launcher prime. I did grant it permission to collect data but that much in just a month??
Next up is beautiful widgets, again why on earth does a weather app need to use that much data??
Next up is clean master, I dont even use it that much so how could it be using that much data?
The last one is actually the most shocking one "MultiTouch tester" app because I havent even opened that app in like months.
Is it really normal for apps that gather data to do it that much in a month? Not only does it seem a problem with privacy but also with battery life under wifi. Remember all of these apps have many downloads and great ratings on the play store so its not a case of them being shoddy apps.
What is your opinion on all this?

Battery drains due bloadware but can't remove it.

Hello,
I have a Samsung Galaxy s5 but I have bloadware on it.
My battery drains extremely fast.
I added a picture with the name etc.

None of those are bloatware, all save two of them are 3rd party apps that were downloaded later. The system apps are Calendar Storage and, I think, Trip Widget. Neither of those two is the problem.
Looks like that game is the culprit. Try using Greenify to force-stop it after you stop playing.
I'll include your image here for you, for everyone else's convenience:

More than bloatware, I've found that there are some Android services that really eat the battery alive. If you don't need them, try disabling Google Now, and most of all disallowing google from tracking your current position. THIS one in particularly can change your battery life.
You have to root, try towelroot and then use appmaster or apkmaster, or if you don't want to delete but you want to have them gone, try using appfrezer, hope I helped

Try to install system app remover
Or stop and turn off the apps you don't want to see in apps manager if you don't want to root it

Phone keeping itself awake - airplane mode, data off, wifi off

Can nyone help me out with why this happens, only sometimes??
This time it looks like the main culprit is the kernel, but i have no idea: how id fix it, why its only sometimes, what else i oculd do to prevent it. i have even de-greenified google play services and google services framework as they never seem to stay hibernated. Yet this still happened, again....
i also noticed hsic was kept awake for a while, but since im not sure what it is, maybe that is normal...
help??
If it was always draining like that every night, id say maybe its time for a new battery... but it only happens once every few weeks, at most.
it was in the upper 80s last night percent wise. all things in the regular battery usage screen looked normal with screen showing the most usage...

Which phone is it? Go through the apps you installed just before it started and try uninstalling them one-by-one and see if the problem still persists, this helps eliminate those apps. Other than that, factory reset? Probably not what you wanted to hear but that will 99% of the time fix the issue.
