Probably a demo unit, I think is only capable to connect a wireless network.
Only changing the mainboard, try find a s8 from Europe with a faulty screen.... the back cracked.
You have to figure out the real cost of that repair and you loose the warranty! Isn't easy and probably with more a few euros you buy a new!

Where in France. I am near Metz and I have a phone repair shop. I think I might have a board for you. But I am leaving for vacation to Spain for 2 weeks. So nothing right away is possible

Return it and ask for a valid one! Or don't you have a receipt?

If you have a sim port I thinks install the apropriate Rom and create the partition EFS with an IMEI can be working.. but not sure.

Edit... Good imei*
First you See your set Model Number
SM-G955X (LDU) unit has no network hardware. No any solution except motherboard change.
Only 2 model boards fit and work in SM-G955X
1.SM-G955F 2.SM-G955FD other model board not work/fit in sm-g955x
If you have any other model except SM-G955X.try with flashing new software

Hello there....
I bought a second hand phone for my girlfriend, which appears to be blocked on all UK networks. I'm guessing it was an insurance scam or something like that.
Question is.... would this phone still work in the USA?
It's a Sony Ericsson K800i
Any help would be much apreciated because currently, i'm about £220 out of pocket. I know i was stupid to do this, but you know what it's like when they start pecking your head for something......
Thanks in advance.....
G
Should work in USA, as the IMEIs are only blocked on the UK networks.
Thanks for the response. Can anyone verify this for me 100% though? I rally don't want to cause anyone else the same problems i have.

Yes you definately can use the device in us as far you mentioned the devise imei is locked by uk service provider....so there should not be any problem usng it other place/other service provider then of those...i also used one set like then a years ago....
but the problem might not get solved if the device is sim locked....that means the device is ment to use with a single operator 4m whome it was been brought on a contract.... otherwise then of the sim locking things you should be fine...
Thanks
Hi could anyone help me get one of these, I have tried to contact my local HTC vendor but they said since its not a phone sold in Australia and the sim tray is a hardware part they do not supply it. I have paypal and am happy to reimburse anyone who can help me.

Hello,
I just came back from US, I`m from Brazil.
Bought a SG6 edge from craigslist. Posted a "Wanted" topic and arranged a metting with a man who said the phone was unlocked and would work with any carrier GSM.
Well, only discovered that this was a Sprint model (SM-G925P) and that it was locked by sprint when got in Brazil (**I know that was kinda dumb).
My question is: This model could work with GSM carriers? in Brazil we only have GSM carriers..
If first answer is Yes, It is unlockable with unlock code?
Or should I just re-sell it on Ebay and pay the international shipping?
Edit: Ohhhh great, also just found out that this phone has a Bad IMEI/ESN. This is bad for me, even overseas?
Thanks!
The bad ESN should only keep you from activating it on Sprint. Sorry that you got scammed...that sucks.
Thank you. ]
does this work with GSM also?
How could I unlock it?

The only way to get it unlock is thru Sprint. Sorry you got scammed, but you should have asked for the ESN before you bought it.

I know this is an old thread but looking for any advice. In a similar situation/scam. The ESN is not blacklisted, just still attached to a account. Thought I did my homework and called Sprint before purchasing and verified that ESN could be used. They didn't tell me it was still attached. Do I have any options as far as using this phone or should i just try to sell it to be used on another carrier or overseas? Any help is greatly appreciated?
i have the same model.. unlocked in Mexico... what firmware do you have? if you need help send me a message on facebook search me up with this exact name...

Hi.
It was also my first guess that your imei is probably used by someone else.
I saw something similar in turkey, where you have to register your smartphone on your name in the national communication office, to be able to use it completely free, or otherwise your sim gets blocked for that specific imei. And the registration costs about 200 euros i guess ( not sure ) .. so people transfered imei numbers from already activated smartphones or (notlegal!) other devices with stolen imei (/notlegal!)
I don't want to give you bad advice but as far as i know, it doesn't look that well for you.....
Their a guy on Facebook that can unblacklist my s6 but for $80 US but considering the rand to dollor is so weak, it will just be very expensive.

Root your phone try phone id changer pro apk google it change imei with it see if it works...
so i bought this s8 using offerup app. when i checked the imei sitting in the parking lot the site i used said it was fine, however when i got home and checked using boost mobile's site it showed bad lost/stolen. my question, is there anyway for me to fix this? or am i completely screwed. i planned on using it on t-mobile
