It's good. The good news is we can update it via OTA even without verizon simcard

I'm done update from vs98727A to vs98728B with uppercut LG up, now i have an hotspot and everythings seems ok so far..

New update, December 27th, 2017. Seems harmless so far, supposedly added something new but I don't see it, maybe because I run Nova launcher?
So where is Oreo? Probably not this quarter and never for me since new phone arrives in two days.

New Update received

Just got a new update...don't know what is...since I'm on OG5...I'm taking it. Here goes...
So what is it?
New everything. OG7...new baseband kernel...I haven't seen any new things outright. Phone seems more responsive... Holds an LTE signal better in my area. Still looking.
3 options in Notifications On Lockscreen now...the new option to Hide Content is present
I can confirm an update is available on mine too. I'm currently on OG5 and downloading a new OTA now. I'm in Oregon.
Memory leak issue fixed?
What about the new icons like the international version? Oh and live broadcast mode in camera?

Have you disabled any apps particularly system apps? Maybe something was inadvertently disabled and is keeping the update from being able to install. Do you receive any error message or codes?

posting that this update allowed for new locked LTE bands to become unlocked. Is this possible? I need to know because updating the phone is going to be a big hassle since mine is rooted and cannot update without first restoring it..
Please let me know if this is possible and if you find any links confirming it.

Updated last night. Today, using iheartradio, rebooted 3 times today. App worked great on 6.01 on Nexus 6. Cleared cache, reinstalled app. No good. Trying other radio apps. If it is just iheart, I don't care.
Overall, smooth. But one MM feature missing are the feature updates that 6.01 brought to my Nexus. On the Nexus Do Not Disturb became event controlled, but it is missing from my Note.
Installed the update last night with no problems. One thing missing is the ability to pin a contact to the homescreen which I use a lot. Found an app called SpeedDial that does the same thing.

Guess I won't be using Marshmallow for a while. Big no go for me: device encryption. Why was this taken out? Hopefully, it doesn't have something to do with that FBI BS...

What settings are you using to get LTE? I'm using Cricket and I've been trying to figure out how to get LTE working since I unlocked the phone a few days ago.

Well if you are worried that your phone will update automatically, it won't because your /system partition has been modified (you have root access). Either way, you will be notified about the update and you can simply ignore it.

Did you have any issues using LG Bridge? I getting an error on my device right at 49% that says "Image Verifying Failed", two times in red. After that message I get a message in Bridge that I need to retry the update (retrying gets the same error).

Nope
I also used LG Bridge. Fingerprint scanner works great now with my Otterbox case. I had no problems updating through Bridge, took maybe 20 minutes.

I took the update thru the LG Bridge. It came thru flawlessly. Things I've noticed...
- Fingerprint scanner seems to be very sensitive now. Registering a new fingerprint was effortless, unlike the first times I did it. MUCH improved.
- 2nd screen functionality for notifications seem better. My messages wouldn't scroll when they got displayed, now they do.
- MUCH better battery life.
- Sharing options are improved BIG TIME. It gives frequently used phone numbers now.
- The dialer has a native video call option now and it's awesome. I called my girlfriend on her Galaxy S6 Edge and she got the option to answer or answer in a video call. Very nice.
- Maybe placebo, but the camera seems a bit snappier.
Anyway, those are my thoughts on the update. Very nice and welcomed update. Also, this is the only phone I've never had to root just to get some extra functionality.

Did anybody else notice a difference in front and rear camera quality while taking a picture and the marshmallow update?
I'm excited about the update I'm one of the few who have problems with the fingerprint scanner when I put a case on my phone but without a case this is got to be one of the fastest unlocking phones with fingerprint I've ever owned and I've owned quite a few phones... I'm going to update to marshmallow tonight

No Bluetooth audio

OK... Updated to marshmallow, did a factory reset. Then did my normal device setup and connect my device via Bluetooth to an external speaker, headset and to my truck. Everything works except media files. I've read through the forums and see no mention of it. But when I googled it, it comes up on one website with no solution other then waiting for another system update. Has anyone else experienced this and has been a solution found.

You might take it to your carrier to see if they can reflash lolliepop for you. If they can, i can guide you on how to get a cleaner install of marshmellow.

My device upgrade through OTA... There's a cleaner way to do it?... honestly between the dialer bug and not connecting via blue tooth..I may just trade my phone in.

There is a cleaner way, but nothing beats a new phone, and with it rendering your bluetooth almost useless they should trade it out no problem, or they may try to reflash LP or MM. Depends if they have the equipment and how much work they wanna do.

ATT Software Update 4/21 (Breaks Bixby button remap)

Aww crap, I got the phone yesterday and got a software update pushed to my phone just now... (Build NRD90M.G950USQU1AQD9)

Update at your own peril.
Same for t-mobile variants as well.

It makes facial recognition much worse. Sounds like they changed it to make out harder to unlock with a picture but the end result is unlocking it with your face doesn't work as often and takes longer to unlock when it does work.
They also reorganized the full-screen apps settings page, that's all I've noticed. I'm on the +
It also makes battery drain. Fyi gotta activate once with att to get updates.. use provided sim to activate as gophone account(free) then connect to wifi and set date 3 days later and check for update
