Honor 8 brick impossible - Honor 8 Questions & Answers

Good evening
Sorry in advance if this is not the right section to describe my problem,
I have a Honor 8 Chinese version of Frd-L10 I did the shredding procedure to make it European with twrp-3.1.1 and https://forum.xda-developers.com/hon...d-l19-t3632220 then Rinived with marshmallow and then updated for you official procedure performed perfectly.
The phone worked for about 10 o'clock when one morning asked me to take a further update that I trusted but that the phone did not like not restarting and stopping at the screen where she asks with the three black screen keys with the three Download keys Latest version and recovery - reboot - shutdown.
I tried to roll back with the dload both with the FRD-L19C432B120 and with the FRD-L19C432B131 but came up to 10% and exclamation point and can not continue.
The only two zones he can enter is the ignition key coming in wipe that I also ran and the normal ignition as I described above.
It does not enter key jun mode and power Fastboot & resecue
I hope in some great mind that it can help me
I hope I have described it well

I am free now 2 days holiday, i am willing to help all, so if some one wants me to help, I definitely will .

Thanks for your answers now I am explaining my situation I have a HONOR 8 4GB 64Gb FRD_AL10 and I had a strong brick
Only through DC-UNLOKED I managed to reprogram the FIRM_FACTORY and then insert a new firm .....
My problem is that I can not find a proper combination between Firm factory and Firm stock
Here's what I put in DC-UNLOCKED on the poor server:
firm_factory:
FRD-AL10_HL1FRDAL00M303_Factory_firmware_general_Android_6.0_EMUI_4.1
FRD-L04_M001035_Factory_firmware_general_Android_6.0_EMUI_4.1
I then add to these a FRD-L19C432B131 firm
Everything so far is done perfectly by making combinations between
FRD-L04_M001035_Factory_firmware_general_Android_6.0_EMUI_4.1
FRD-L19C432B131 (European model)
The problem that when I run an update with Firmware Finder at nougat any edition 360 380 381 etc etc. the phone assumes after the update goes to the cursed NRD90M test-key, which is why the firmware used is not the right one.
Can you help me if you have any sources to have a proper firmware combination ???
I need the Europa Italia version
Thank you all

Someone can help me ???
during an installation and reboot my honor 8 is dead ....
At this time if boot from power the screen stays black usb dead high only the green color notification LEDs flashing ..............

HELP Honor 8 Boot-Loop After OTA out of the box [FRD-L19].

Hi all
My honor 8 just arrived yesterday,
Turned it on and it prompted me for a software update and it went in to a boot-loop.
Not sure what fw it was on before the update, also unsure what version it was upgrading to.
Later found out trough fastboot that it is (FRD-L19C636B386).
Tried to factory reset (no luck)
Tried eRecovery method, keeps showing (Getting package info failed)
Tried the 3 finger method with FRD-L19C636B380, keeps showing (Software install failed Get help from http://www.emui.com/emotiondownload.php?mod=restore)
Tried to flash trough fastboot, unfortunately it can't be done without unlocking the bootloader.
Wanted to unlock the bootloader but seems like it requires the phone to be able to boot to OS before I can get the unlock code.
Anyone having the same issue or have other alternatives/solutons for me to try?
Cheers!
Try rollback package

Hi I also have L19 and trying to update to B380 from B360 thru OTA using Firmware Finder. And your issue happened to me. It just bootloops then goes to eRecovery but it has error " Getting package into failed".
So can you help me step by step on how you fixed your phone? Thanks!
Tried using Rollback package. but now my new error is "Data partition was damaged seriously! ..."
I dont know what to do anymore, I just bought this phone 5 days ago, sad life.

I just checked the fastboot mode it says:
Phone Locked
FRP Lock
1. what to do to unlock bootloader?
2. Whats happening now is, the "Honor" logo boots twice then goes to Huawei eRecovery. Under eRecovery it has option "Download latest version and recovery" > "Download and recovery" > "Starting WIFI failed". Actually I can connect to wifi earlier and this what happens to the eRecovery "Getting package info failed". But now it CANT connect to the wifi.
3. I tried the firmware rollback but it didnt help
Rommco05 said:
2. Try remove password from your wifi connection and again try download recovery
Or, download full firmware B360 (2 zips) unzip both and separately put to dload foldet on sdcard

This is what I'm doing now downloading FRD-L19C636B360 Full OTA which is 1.4GB from boycracked.com then will use the 3 button combo to install it using dload folder in the sd card. Still waiting to download the file. Will update you once tried
What do you mean by the "(2 zips)" ? What I only know it has UPDATE.APP.

There were 2 b380 available, 1st is 300mb 2nd file is full ota. I only downloaded d full ota. No PV at d end as far as i remember. Used wifi proxy > system update ota > start download pause > return wifi config > resume ota update.
Rommco05 said:
Ithink this was issue, if you want install some firmware or update (Nougat) must be always labeled with PV, with this is able to install over dload or twrp

I think PV filenames is for twrp. I just read that updating to b380 you need to rollback to b120 which is marshmallow then jump to b380. As long as i can return it to my stock b360 Im fine with it. I will just wait for Oreo or OTA update without using FF since this issue is driving me nuts. It's just 5 day old phone n this already happened. My download is still at 50% very frustrating download speed
Rommco05 said:
As far I know every update must by labeled with PV if will can be installed manualy, this is "offline firmwares" wich don't need be checked online by Huawei

I have downloaded the 2 files. When I extract the 1st file it has 3 files ( meta-INF, update.app, full_mainpkg.tag). Should I put these 3 files to the dload folder or just the update.app?

It may be because you flashed it manually. And unless we have rollback package for your model you may not be able to rollback to MM. Are you planning to install custom ROM or want to be on stock rom only.
Updater is not there means tou wont get OTA bit test build wont impact anything.
You may need to flash the oeminfo of your model as well.

I would advise to wait for official OTA (as you got the phone yesterday) but if you really want to do it-
Download this- http://update.hicloud.com:8180/TDS/data/files/p3/s15/G1279/g104/v82620/f2/full/update.zip
and this http://update.hicloud.com:8180/TDS/...cseas/update_data_full_BLL-L22_hw_spcseas.zip
Flash first file and boot to system. Then 2nd and boot.
You need to use dload method as below
Unzip 1st file and extract the package. You will get few files including update.app.
Few suggest to use only update.app file but I would advise, based on my personal experience for all dload method I tried, use all the files.
Create a folder dload under SD card and copy all the files to this folder.
Power off the phone. Remove USB cable, if connected.
Press volume up+volume down keys and simultaneously press power button (3 keys together)
Your phone will automatically detect the package and will start the update process.
Once the update process is successful, you will get a message as update was successful and your phone will restart automatically.
During restart, phone will verify the system image.
This verification and 1st boot may take upto 2-3 minutes so do not panic.
Repeat the same with 2nd zip file.
Good luck. Happy Flashing.

[HELP] Honor 6X brick

Hello everyone,
Today around 12:00, my phone did install the latest EMUI update available (365). However, I didn't noticed it and then I couldn't stop it ...
It messed up my system and I wasn't able to boot. eRecovery wasn't working either (unable to get packages).
I had twrp so I thought this was no big deal, but I couldn't manage to reinstall a stock rom, nor install a custom rom (I've tried them all, and none was working : blackscreens all the time), even thought I have experience in flashing roms and messing around with smartphones
I tried to rollback to an older version of my stock rom using huawei's rollback package (even if the manual says that I shouldn't do this since I unlocked my bootloader). The installation was flawless, and then it rebooted to reset my user data. The reset failed, and still couldn't boot.
I've tried to install custom roms again after that, but I was missing "/vendor" and "/product".
I am desperate and out of ideas.
I have access to bootloader, I have fastboot, twrp, and I have experience in flashing and all this stuff.
If you like challenges and you wanna proove that you're the very best like no one ever was, your help is much appreciated
Best regards,
Hazreath

I was talking about the second one. The first one was ghe dload flash. You use it if you want to manually flash a firmware. Maybe you cantry that too. Download a full firmware for your model (more or less 2GB in size), extract the update.app inside and put it in dload folder inside storage, and press the volume up, volume down and power buttons.
Sent from my Honor 8 Pro using XDA Labs
I already tried that and it led me to nothing :/
I tried both the EMUI 5.0 firmware and the rollback to EMUI 4.1. They were the only ones availables.
5.0 install failed(uncompatible), and rollback install worked but then user data reset failed...
What was your idea with the second one ? I can access to it, I was wrong (I modified my post a minute ago )
Thanks again
Problem solved !
I made a dload with a update.zip that I found here -> http://update.hicloud.com:8180/TDS/data/files/p3/s15/G1277/g104/v74972/f1/full/update.zip
I'm in EMUI 4.1 and everything works fine (I miss the drawer but it works).
Thanks for your investment sir, and have a nice day

Get the zip file and extract it in a "dload" folder (create it) to your sdcard.
Put the sdcard into your phone and boot by pressing vol+,vol- and power, then click on the first option and wait !
Sorry I saw your answer a bit late :/

[SOLVED] Hard bricked honor 8

Hello guys
My H8 is hard bricked. There is basically no rom, no custom recovery on the phone. So it's kinda useless. I already tried to flash TWRP recovery but that doesn't work, it flashes but the phone always ends up in a bootloop. Restoring EMUI 5 through e-recovery doesn't work either. So i'm basically stuck with a phone that doesn't work at all. I was on EMUI 5 and my phone is a FRD-L09. Can anyone help me please? I've tried everything I could but nothing seems to work. Please help me, i'm stressing out.
Thanks
Have you tried the dload method by first installing the roolback then the original firmware?

Yeah I did, however the instructions weren't always clear. So I had to "guess" what I had to do.

Firstly you need to get the rollback package and the firmware for your phone from your countries Huawei's/Honor's website. Then you should unzip the files if they zipped while downloading. After that, you need to put the rollback dload package on the root of an SD card. Then keep on holding all the 3 buttons for some time, you should leave the keys after the phone vibrates and takes you to the installing screen or something((I cannot exactly remember). If you see it successfully covers the 100% then remove the rollback dload file from the SD card replace it with the firmware dload file and do the same thing that u just did. (it may take some time while flashing the firmware

Hey, sorry for the late reply, but I was away from the website for some time hoping someone can reach out, and yet there you are!
Well i actually got over the issue with the voice from Google and I have a keyboard now , but there are somethings out of place on my phone, like for example the clock is gone , my precious Notepad is gone as well along with all the important notes, before I attempted to root my device I made a full back up ( the root on my phone is terribly difficult, can't find a good guide that fits my need to do it safely.
My build number is: FRD-L09C1858B387

Can you elaborate more ? should I reflash it? I've read on some issue resolving contents that I have to reflash the update.zip, but can't quite get an idea of how to do it?
I don't want to brick my phone that's why I stopped from rooting it
And I want to get my clock back and more importantly to get the notes from notepad back :/
Thanks in advance!

Did not post any guide..
Its simple..but you need correct files to do it successfully..
Download correct stock firmware file
Correct I mean according to you model and build number.
The firmware number should be same or higher ..
If you have any question post here.

if i want to flash the stock firmware i should do it with which tool ? is it the same tool that is used with rooting which is TWRP , or do i use something else
and when you say the correct files , is the file required for this process called update.zip?

No tool is needed , you just need to place the correct UPDATE.APP (downloaded from honor official site) in a folder called dload a
at the root of your SD card, shut down your phone then hold power + both volume buttons. When the phone is starting release the power button but keep holding volume buttons. It should start installing the firmware.
If it doesn't work you probably need to install a stock recovery and retry.
If the firmware you have chosen is the wrong one the phone won't accept it . (Upgrade failed)
Please take note that if the process succeed it will erase all your data, you should take a backup before
Good luck bro even if it isn't a tough process, and let us know the end of the story

I want to try to root and fix my phone before the weekend started so I can have fun, can I annoy you or anyone else with this?
I need to get help with two things, first get the flash on my FRD-L09 FRD-L09C185B387, emui 5 androids 7.0 and get my notepad and clock back, second, i need to root it, in the right way with no issues.
Thanks best regards
To root it you first need to install a clean ROM without missing apps. In order to do that you need to perform the dload method that I detailed previously.
Then unlock bootloader, flash TWRP, flash superSU and you're rooted
