Non-square icons in Nova Launcher - Android Apps and Games

I have DCikonZ for icons pack under Look and Feel. These are square icons 114x114. I've tried to replace manually some of them with icons (not from a set), 144x130. After I choose the new icon, it is displayed in an editing box where I'm forced to cut some parts of the image to make it square. I could not figure out how to use icons with a custom aspect ratio (different than 1:1). I'll appreciate any help!
Update:
I still didn't figure out if Nova Launcher supports icons with aspect ratios different than 1:1. However, I found a way around it. I've modified the icon canvas size to 144 x 144, on a transparent background. Now the icons are shown at the original aspect ratio (144 x 130), because they are part of a transparent square.

Large Icons

Can anyone give suggestions on how to get an icon to overlap multiple slots. Launcherpro allows you to resize widgets, but if you use an icon to resize it doesn't make it bigger just centers it, thoughts?
I've never tried this but what if you reduced the number of rows and columns?

Glad to help
Does anyone know how to make the icons in the dock of LauncherPro bigger? I have put some icons on my dock but they are too small for my liking. I have searched this board and online for a while, and I haven't found a solution.
I just want my dock icons bigger.
bump - anyway to do this ?
Don't think you can make them bigger. I think the size is 84x84 but if the icons you're using has transparent pixels around it, that would make it seem smaller.
You could try lcd density changer, and just go bigger instead of smaller like everyone else is doing. Default is 240, try 280 maybe.

launcher icon customization

Hi,
I am trying to customize my launcher icons for the eee pad transformer tablet. I've tried Desktop VisualizeR and Bettercut, both resize the icons smaller than stock launcher icons. I'm using 512x512 and 256x256 png files from DeviantArt. I can't find a setting in either app to configure the size of the resulting icon.
I thought I'd try resizing the images to the "native" format to see if that would help.
After reading these pages:
developer.android.com/guide/practices/ui_guidelines/icon_design_launcher.html
developer.android.com/guide/practices/screens_support.html
I have come to realize that the current Honeycomb tablets (or at least eee pad) are:
screen size: xlarge
density: mdpi
According to these docs mdpi is 48x48 and hdpi is 72x72. So I tried resizing the images to 48x48 and also tried 72x72 pixels, neither of which solved the problem.
48x48, looks like what DVR and Bettercut are resizing them to, so they seems to be following the rules.
They say px (pixel) for the unit, but do they mean dp (density-independent pixel)?
I don't get it. Can anyone help me out here?
Thanks
Icons that appear in the launcher typically display at 72x72 pixels. Try resizing them to 72x72 before loading them with DTV or BetterCut. If neither app is displaying the icons at the right size, then it is a problem with the app that will need to be resolved by the developer.
Thanks, yes you are right. I did some calculations based on the 1280x800 resolution spec and the actual physical dimensions of the screen and icons and came up with this:
The dpi is actually 150, but that is close enough to 160 that you can assume that px = dp
The width of the GMail launcher icon is 61px which makes in the correct recommended size for a full 72px "asset".
I guess I need to take it up with the developers but I find it strange that this device is categorized as mdpi in the android Best Practices page, and that the recommended launcher icon size for mdpi is 48px.
Ok, I don't know why it took me this long to come to this epiphany but, call me an idiot, but the issue here is that the screen size should be the deciding factor for icon size not dpi. dpi is, essentially, irrelevant in so much as the limitation of dpi on a particular device is it's problem, not android's. So... is this a "bug" in android's recommendations in the Best Practices page? Icon size should be based on screen size not dpi.
I think I need to clarify, icon size should be based on screen size and defined in terms of device-independent pixels. Or I may be wrong, my head is spinning right now.

[Q] Launcher - Adjust Icon Size & Icon Text Size?

I'm looking for a launcher that can adjust icon size and text size for both the icons on the home screen as well as the icons in the app drawer. Also needs to be able to adjust number of columns and rows.
Best I've found so far is ADW Launcher EX - allows one to adjust icon text size and icon size for the home screen icons, but the icons become blurry when enlarging, so rather pointless.
Or is there an easy way of doing this manually?
Or you could use an application to change the LCD density. Search on market for LCD Density. You should find plenty.

What icon sizes can I use on Note?

Been playing arond with varous apps to increase the font and icon sizes, and wondered whats the max icon size (in pixels) I can use on the note?
Looking round for some hi-res icons that are larger than default, some of the apps Ive used tend to zoom in, which look awful.. I want to make the most out of the phones res....
Would also help when trawling through the thousands of icon packs, to find ones that have bigger icons...
Love my new note, sold my gs2 to get one, best move Ive made!
Cheers
EDIT:
Ive got an icon pack (zip file) which contains icons of 125x125 pixel, hi res, and am using GO Launcher EX with grid of 5 rows 4 columns, and I the icons aeem the same size.. I notice when I move an icon, and the grid shows, the spaces between the drid marks is huge, how do I make my icons use more of this space???
I think Go Launcher automatically re-sizes the icons. Don't know if GO has an option to turn it off, but i know ADW has it.
the Note is xhdpi (320 dpi)
(Extra-high density screen)
96x96
