Hello all! I'm looking for some info. Can stock unbranded software be put onto the phone? If so, where can I find it?
Is there a way to stop Sprint from installing software automatically?
I don't have teh S-8 yet but you should be able to transfer any APKs and just run them (dbl-click) and they will install. Be careful though.

I have the Samsung Galaxy S3 (T-Mobile) and it includes all the unneccesary bloatware. Since I'm not a T-Mobile customer, I would prefer not to have all the extra T-Mobile applications, so I was wondering when rooting with Odin 3, instead of using T-Mobiles stock image, can I possibly use a different carriers, like WIND Mobile.
The instructions I got were from:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1771687
When I tried using the WIND image on my T-Mobile device, rooting fails!
Any suggestions?

You probably can some way, but you could also just use the T-Mobile one and de-bloat after root.

Yea, I've tried that already but the issue is I want to remove the T-Mobile Hotspot application that they've integrated into the stock hotspot which does not seem to remove (cannot be found in the applications).
Any other suggestions?
I have a rooted Metro PCS Galaxy S3 (SGH-T999N) with Clockwork mod recovery installed.
My question is simple and if anybody can answer it I would greatly be appreciated I'll provide as much info as you guys want as long as you walk me through of what needs to be done.
INFO
--------------
I have a stock rom on it I didn't install any custom roms at all I just heard that clockworkmod could allow you to do so but as I know of from some research there is no roms available for it yet. at least the variant I'm using that is, Now I have change the host files around and not sure if that can mess it up or not. thanks to freedom messing up my host file as well as adblock so i had to manually go back in and fix it but I'm not sure if I'm using the right ip address for the file. I mean everything seems to work fine now I'm connected to google and surfing the web and such.
Bottom Line
--------------------
I'm not trying to get over the air updates (OTA) I just wanna know when the time comes and I can download the official update from samsung can I flash that over the preexisting stock rom that im using even though it says custom not official?

So I've been trying to make my phone permissive so that way I can install a new ROM. However whenever I try to do this I get this message:

Hi,
I am pretty sure you need to be running as lot to change SELinux in this manner which I'm guessing is what you're trying to get in the first place.
Chances are you need to run a different exploit on your device to obtain root
Looks like a Samsung device judging by the font, but would need to know more info to point you in the proper direction such as make, model, android version, carrier etc
EDIT:
Just saw your signature and it appears you have a version branded S4, depending on the version this guide should help you out

Let me know if you have further questions
You are correct however. I am actually already rooted and I don't understand why it's giving me a hard time. I have been on this device. I have to do this again was because I loaded a stock rom so that way I could get it fixed. When I got it back is when I had this issue. What I am trying to do is install safestrap.

Hey guys! So I'm trying to use the T-Mobile Unlock App. Unfortunately it's not working. I uninstalled the one that came on my phone via Titanium backup. I installed the play store one and it's saying that it's not compatible with my device. Is there a working apk lingering around? Or possibly a flashable zip? Thanks in advance, you guys always save my butt.

So I made the mistake of not backing up the MetroPCS sim unlock app and couldn't make a nandroid due to the encryption limitations, which I've since fixed.
I was seeing if anyone could upload the app, then we can also have this for archive purposes and incluebitnin custom ROMs
Anybody? ?

There is the simlocker folder
Thank you very much downloading now
Update: so I placed the files in the priv-app folder and it shows up and runs fine. Unfortunately, I think since I'm running Walker blue v2 and not stock. I get the message saying the app is incompatible with this device. That because the rom reports that it's an S7 I believe.
When I'm eligible for the network unlock, I'm going to flash back to stock.
Just a heads up to anyone that needed this as well.
