Light use endurance - Wileyfox Swift 2 Real Life Review

Once in a while, when your significant other yells at you, you might use your phone a bit less. Rate this thread to express how the Wileyfox Swift 2's battery performs under light use. A higher rating indicates that the device goes a long time when you're using the phone sparingly: no gaming or video/audio streaming, light web browsing, some calling and texts, etc.

Is GPRS used up much power?

I keep my brand new XDA2 always connected GRPS to receive instant e-mail?
However, I found that my XDA2 using power very quickly.
In the past, when I used the XDA1, my GPRS plan is not that much so that I can keep it on-line all the time and the phone battery gone out reasonably.
Any thoughts?
Try a longer interval between checking the email. I originally had my XDA set to check every 15 minutes but I could see that it was sapping the battery strength. I dialed it back to once per hour (this is the longest interval you can choose) and I can go a few days at a time this way (depending on how much I use the XDA otherwise).
That means GPRS really consume too much power.
I will adjust setting to an hour.
Thanks a lot.
let me add small comment on this, it's not the 'alway on' that drain the battary, but any type of data traffic . it would be the same if you use CSD line. I'm not sure, but I noticed that phone calls do not consume that much ... maybe coz data traffic uses lot of buffering and errors handling.

Browser to save on Bandwith with Flash?

I used TMobile and so I can only use 5 gb of data per month.
When I'm at work I like to listen to sermons that broadcast with flash from this website. This kills my data usage. Is there a browser that can somehow lesson the quality of the stream so the data usage is less? I don't care about the visual quality, I'm mainly just listening.
I use skyfire which does save on bandwith for flash, but it doesn't have a pause button and I often have to pause for stuff at work.
Miren has a mode like this. Can set it so it only activates when its on mobile data.
Never live in the past but always learn from it.
Thanks...I tried it but it won't play videos when the bandwith conserve is enabled.

12% battery drain <1hr HSPA+

All I do is tweet, Google+, xda and browse during my 50 minute commute to college and my battery goes haywire.
I restrict background data, autosync and also use inverted rendering in the browser along with dark themed xda.
My question is how can I reduce this drain?
Sent from my GT-I9300
I think it may have to do with you phone connecting to different networks on your commute. You can't really do so much about that unless you sync 50 minutes worth of reading at home uith wifi pefore you leave. I've done that with some success with greader when i take my daughter to her riding lessons where I know there is no coverage. -rticles i find that I want to share get "starred" or saved and dealt with later.

Facebook data drain on 3g

I have noticed that facebook for android drains so much mb while browsing on it. I once used to have a nokia phone where facebook data consumption was very low, probably because of low quality of loaded pictures
is there a way to lower pic quality or to avoid pictures to load while in 3g so i can browse facebook just for comments, likes and links without loading any pic? I suppose that this will lower data consumption over 3g
i've looked on google a solution but still i haven't find anything
hope you can help

Games take a loooooong time to load with wifi

I have a Samsung galaxy a70, my WiFi speed is pretty fast but it keeps loading games forever (unless I use mobile data or VPN). Although I still have yet to try another wifi network. But anyway, I play only two games, honkai impact 3rd and mobile Legends. Honkai impact 3rd just keeps showing me the loading icon for long after which it dissappears and comes again after like 2 seconds, and if I try online in the game, it doesn't let me join at all. As for Mobile Legends (it's a MOBA) the loading screen takes sooo long (it shows everyone's loading percentage) and I'm always the last one to load, the inside of the game is so smooth, my ping is usually 8ms. Even when I'm browsing Instagram, videos and comments will load as if my WiFi speed is 1kb/s. This doesn't affect any browser tho. Didn't try with Facebook. This only happens on my phone in the whole house.
Forgot to add: This randomly starts happening and goes away after pretty long
Maybe cause the server you're trying to connect is far away? idk i don't know about games that much.

Wireless networks use two main frequency bands: 2.4 GHz (gigahertz) and 5 GHz. These frequency bands affect how far and how fast data can travel over WiFi. The 2.4 GHz band gives you slower speeds at a longer range, while the 5 GHz band gives you faster speeds at a shorter range.
So, if you want the fastest WiFi speeds, you should always use the 5 GHz band. However, the more devices you have on one band, the slower your WiFi will be.
Wifi connection has nothing to do with loading screen .. what is your performance rating on Mobile Legends?
With regards to a Wi-Fi connection many aspects come into play, such as bandwidth, Internet speed and latency, among others.
When the mentioned games get launched they at 1st thing of all things fetch data / resources from Internet what will take some time which depends on the 3 above mentioned criteria. The progress typically gets shown on game's loading screen.
Same is the case when you from within the games try to establish a further Internet connection.
BTW: An Internet speed of 1KB/s indeed is really inacceptable. Normally the Internet speed is in the range of 700-800 KB/s.
goto Setting then Network Test then Performance Test and let Mobile Legends rate your device also fast loading screen have disadvantage you will never have time seeing enemy team hero selections and decide what equipment to buy to counter them ...
here's mine MediaTek Heli P20 rating on Mobile Legends not that fast but it's decent
It's not only on games, Instagram does not load videos at all, and my WiFi download speed is 5 mbps so I'm pretty sure it's not my WiFi at fault. As for mobile Legends, now that it added the data optimization thing at the start of the game, the loading speed is back to normal now. But honkai impact 3rd and Instagram remains the same, ESPECIALLY Instagram.
