Hello everyone.
Yesterday I installed a game called Ace Fishing, and since my Galaxy S7 Edge Exynos is rooted, the game detected it and refused to run.
I looked on how I can hide my root, a quick Google pop up suggested to tick off the Enable Superuser in the SuperSU app options. So I did it and it indeed helped.
Until I realized when I try to launch SuperSU again I get an error saying the binary couldn't be found and it mentioned something about android version 5 or something.
I ended up updating SuperSU to the latest version through Google Play and now when I launch SuperSU I get SuperSU Root Undetected message.
I can still see my old options and if I am fast enough even tap on settings in SuperSU.
Basically my question is, how can I tick the option back on? I cannot use some root-only programs now, and I can't reset everything from scratch just to tick the option back on, I'm in base away from any computers for the next week.
Please someone tell me there's a way to close the message screen and tick SuperSU Enable option back on, any way to edit the settings from the folder or anything at all, please.

If you are using mode edit: app name removed and mode edit: app name removed then you won't get any help here. Those are considered warez, warez is software that is designed to steal paid software(the kinds of things the developers around here are responsible for building) or get items free that should be paid for.
This website was founded BY developers, FOR developers(the kind of people your software is designed to steal from), it wasn't created for us everyday users, they just "allow" us access to the work that is done here. You are using software that you obviously use to get paid games for free and to get in-app purchases for free(this is stealing from the developers of those games, they are probably even members here, it is also against the XDA Forum Rules), then you come here looking for help with a device that you have been using to steal from their colleagues. How much help do you think you will get with that?
The truly loyal members here won't help you with this.

How much help? Enough from a decent person I assume. You can't just come barging in spitting that at me, you can't judge or know how much I actually put into buying apps or in-apps. Everyone's used these before, and I believe if you're going to be honest with yourself you'll admit it too.
Either way, the fact here remains that my SuperSU is messing around and I don't seem to have root access tempirarily at least. If your problem lies within what apps I download that use root, you've got a serious problem and should stick to yourself. I couldn't care less about those apps, right now I just want this question answered: can I fix this problem without using a computer or reflashing everything?
For anyone else who may be of help; using root checkers show that I have no root, even though I do and I simply ticked off the Enable SuperSU option in SuperSU settings, I didn't full unroot or something, simply tried to hide the root so I can access a game that ws blocking rooted devices.

My reply wasn't to be rude, it was to state facts to make you aware that the software you use, the activity you participate in and the device you do it on and discussions of "how to" are not allowed in this scenario.
You use software that isn't allowed in this forum which is clearly defined in the forum rules that you were supposed to have read when you created your account here and you most likely use it to steal software and paid items.
Then you want to talk about a "decent person"?
No, I don't use warez, at all, there's nothing I need or want that requires being purchased. If it isn't free or if I don't buy it, I don't use it.
I don't have a problem with whatever root apps you use. The administrators, senior moderators and moderators here have a problem with "warez" specifically, the device it is used on and the people that use it. By the time one of them sees this thread, they'll probably just delete my posts, then leave a post here informing you of the rules and close this thread. Fair warning was all I was giving you. By all rights I should have reported your thread but I try to help members learn their way around to avoid them getting reported. So, in effect, I was trying to inform you and help you avoid the issue here.

Um, okay? I appreciate it, I guess?
I don't need help with warez, SuperSU isn't warez, I'm just trying to figure out if there's a way to get my root status back again. Dealing with a headache with no answers to (as far as I've searched) and its all because a single button.

But you need help with the device that you used warez on.
If this thread stays open, you might get help, who knows. I'm just saying that the serious people here won't.
There is a simple fix, I'll give you a hint, the process will probably cause you to lose your data.

The thread got closed since it's breaching the forum rules. It cannot be excluded that the mentioned warez apps are involved in the problem.
The Forum Rules said:
6. Do not post or request warez.
If a piece of software requires you to pay to use it, then pay for it. We do not accept warez nor do we permit members to request, post, promote or describe ways in which warez, cracks, serial codes or other means of avoiding payment, can be obtained or used. This is a site of developers, i.e. the sort of people who create such software. When you cheat a software developer, you cheat us as a community.

In case there's somebody around here wondering, I'm starting a thread to show you how to download FREE apps if you don't have market access. Any FREE app you can find online in .apk form is yours. Please note you DO NOT need ROOT ACCESS to follow these steps, but I recommend it anyways, so use that nifty search bar and try it out.
Note: This is a method only for installing FREE APPS that are already free. Some people complain of not having the market app, others have market crash issues. This method is only to be used as an alternate to the Market if you do not have market access.
What you'll need:
Method of data transfer between phone and computer (USB Cord, MicroSD adapter, etc)
ASTRO File Manager- Found in the Android Market for free.
Level of Difficulty: 2/10
Procedure:
Step 1: Download ASTRO File Manager
This is self-explanatory. Go into your market and search for: ASTRO
Look for the result that reads: ASTRO File Manager
Download the app, it's free.
Step 2: Connect phone/SD to computer
Either plug in your phone and select mount, or plug your MicroSD into an adapter. Once your computer recognizes the SD card, move to step 3.
Step 3: Create free apps folder
Create a new file folder on your SD card in the top directory (meaning on the SD card and not in any other file folder). Name it Free Apps or similar.
Step 4: Download your .apk files
Search the internet for your desired applications. XDA forums and iPmart are great places to start. Once you find your application, download it and drag it to your Free Apps folder on your SD card.
Step 5: Unmount phone
This doesn't need explaining.
Step 6: Run ASTRO
Once your phone is unmounted and ready, run ASTRO File Manager. Once the application loads, it will list all the folders on your SD card. Navigate to your Free Apps folder, and select it. Once open, find your application you wish to install. It may list it twice, one with the logo and the other with a little settings logo, click the one that has the actual application logo.
Step 7: Installation
A menu will popup with two choices: Explore or App Manager. Select App Manager. It will come up with a new window, and beneath the application logo will be a button that says install. It will bring up the familiar installing are you sure screen, click yes and install it. Once it finishes, click done. Now you can install more or run your application.
That's it, enjoy your apps.
Hmm... I don't see any piracy. There are a lot of "Free" apps online. Android is Open Source. Now if he was talking about downloading paid apps for free... then we have a problem.
This is just a thread showing how to install free apps... which there are billion of online.

EDIT : Besides... Why would you use this method of installing free apps? The market offers free apps..

Seriously dude you need to stop...one of the sites he mentioned has warez in it. For instance here are a few PAID apps...
Solo v1.21
Advanced Task Killer PRO v1.7.6
SetCPU for Root Users v1.5.3a
Should I go on or should I let you continue making yourself look foolish??

We dont support wares here kid. So please GTFO these forums with your ****ING ****! people work hard to make these apps so people like us can enjoy them. And they spent hours on making the apps and your here to rip them off really?

Then you shall do this for the "goodies" aka Free apps.

As far as "piracy" is involved... I don't see any here. Just because the guy says there's a way for you to go throw yourself off a cliff, doesn't mean you're gonna go do it, right ?
He's offering a solution on how to install freely available .apk's. How you get them and If YOU choose to go download them, that's your problem.
Now let's play nice...
VinceOB, MyDroidHax, and Juggsy, you all really need to calm down. I may not have worded it correctly, but I fixed it. The reason I posted this was because a ROM I installed for whatever reason didn't have the market app, so I had no market access. There are a wide array of free apps on both sites, yes there are a few paid on iPmart, but iPmart is still one of the best overall sources for free apps as well. Seriously, i didn't plan on awaking to controversy.

I didn't see him drop the f bomb on u. He might have meant it that way but that would be putting words in his mouth.
Sometimes I wonder what the qualifications are to become a mod are. So far I believe the first three qualifications are ego, power hungry, and favoritizm.
Care to elaborate on the extensive and rigorous interviews and testing that took place to acquired ur higher status.
BTW win Mobil is only around cause its backed by Microsoft. Doesn't mean it's a great OS. Just that the backers have deep pockets and wont let it die.
ok, I don't like or condone the way this thread has gone. Instead of discussing the topic of free apps, its all about calling people names and slagging each other off.
@cbarlan - The f word was never mentioned by either MyDroidHax or
NRGZ28. One used "-Blam-" the other "***". It was actually you which first referred to the f-word.
But none of this matters. What matters is your respect for fellow xda users as per rule #2 below.....which by they way does mention no cursing which MyDroidHax blatantly flaunted.
2. Be polite and respect your fellow xda-dev user.
There is no need for cursing, flaming, racism or personal attacks. There are a lot of different nationalities on this forum all with different cultures, this means that no matter what you're like, you'll have to adjust to people that are most definitely not like you. For this reason we'd like to ask you to refrain from discussions about religion or politics, we do not wish to limit your right to free speech, but we have noticed these topics tend to get heated and might be best discussed in a different environment. It will gain you a lot of respect if you help to keep the peace. It's disrespectful and therefore not permitted to create Alias Member names in an attempt to deceive others.

Please remind nrgz28 who is a moderator of the rule u posted. I believe he was very rude in emplementing his harsh warnings instead of being polite and respectful. U can be stern and respectful at same time. And for future reference when someone uses stars inplace of a word it is usually vulgar. Also no need to threaten with this is ur first and last warning. Remember rule u referenced and be polite as well. I'd be willing to write up a wiki on how to use ur manners and be respectful as I've had to reach my six year old. Kinda the same thing
Thank you to the mods for the cleanup work. MyDroidHax initially used F***ING, and then edited it. I read the post almost immediately.
Anyways, I updated the post, and I wrote it at 1AM here today, so I was tired. Sorry for misconceptions guys. Like I said, I had market issues, so I found this way to help me and felt I'd share.
Yes you can get paid apps, but it doesn't mean you should or are going to. This is just a workaround to a normal situation, use it how you will.
Also, you guys really shouldn't rip on the mods. The rules clearly stated that you can't do what MyDroidHax did, and so he was told he can't. So? That's how it works, he won't do it again if he doesn't want to get banned.
On a related note, this can also be used to install apps that are not in the market but are available online, such as betas hosted online, custom apps, etc. If you're rooted, you should have "install non-market apps" checked, but if it's not it will take you to the screen where you check it during this process.
I am 98% sure this doesn't require root access. The file manager I know doesn't, and on the Hero (since we have not been neutered like ATT phones) we can install apps from outside sources. So that option is freely available.
What here requries root access?
Not giving you heck, just trying to make the post more informational.

Good afternoon dear forum dwellers,
I find my self facing a very steep obstacle related to an application. My agricultural family requires the application in order to conduct normal work. The issue i am faced with is two fold. I am unable to download/install the application due to either region restriction or phone restriction.
The notorious application is this: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.yara.checkit
So i request the aid and wisdom of those of you that possess far greater abilities than i, in solving this perhaps simple conundrum. My request is the following: Would it be possible for someone to download that application and sub sequentially sent me the .APK file of it so that i may install it manually. Alternatively i am open to any and all suggestions regarding the resolution of the above issue.
Thank you for your time, and i apologies if this post is not in the correct section of the forum,
Humbly yours,
Shallowmist
(PS: I have contacted the application developer regarding the same resolution i have suggested, unfortunetly the support was.... How should i put this? The support leaves a'lot to be desired.)

Thank you kindly for the tip, i shall try it out.
There has been a lot of discussion about this topic and opinions. But lets be clear about a few things that are facts:
KingRoot now installs a ton of Adware on your device
KingRoot takes over your lock screen now and splatters ads on it
KingRoot's Uninstall does NOT remove everything they have modified on your device
SuperSU replace method does NOT remove everything they put on it either
KingRoot intentionally ads multiple binary files to your /system/bin folder that have nothing to do with their rooting method and are even back dating them to try and hide them
AVG has reported this and even warns of possible personal information gathering, that is NOT just a warning of rooting exploits
KingRoot has now included a Wifi option within their latest version under tools, what do you think they are gathering there ?
I have been trying to tell users for a long time that they are up to no good and they have even lied saying they tried to contact me to work with me on what they refer to as my app doing a malicious removal of their tool. That is completely incorrect... They have NEVER tried to contact me about this. They did try and ask my to stop and I told them once they allowed SupeSU to cleanly take over their root and they allowed all traces of their program to be replaced/removed I would then do it, but they never have adhered to any of that.
You the user have been warned and my conscious has been cleared. Install this at your own risk. They even went as far as trying to prevent my program from gaining root, why ? Because it will in fact remove all traces of their program including their custom binaries they have added, etc.. Now, keep in mind, they have many binaries that they add, depending on the device, but I do my best to catch them.
KingRoot, you want all of this to stop ? Then comply with the request of all the users and myself to remove EVERY file modification you have made to their device and allow replacement of your tools with whatever the user desires, cleanly.. You want to make it a paid app for you to get compensation for your time ? Fine, but get rid of all this Adware and malicious take over you have done to their device.
Let all the people speak now. It is your device and your choice of what you want to see, I am just one voice of many...

I recently upgraded my old s4 for hangouts only use (no carrier) to 501 and I used an old version of Kingroot and current SuperSUme. No worries. Thanks for a great app.
Real question is. Why can't someone legit make a kingroot type rooter that's not all jacked. It's there really no one else who knows how to do it that is honest?

Sure, it can be done. But they protect, for good reasons, their rooting methods. I can't disagree with them there. But someone else would have to come out with the exploits and wrap it into a rooting method for everyone to use. They definitely have the team and resources to be able to root devices. I am very thankful for that, don't get me wrong, but the way they make you accept it all is where I take issue.

Thank you for correcting this..
Xda has a rule about having paid apps/donate version in threads. It does not seem unreasonable to ask for a similar policy with the more important and less costly demand of being able to uninstall the app, or at least not block the usage of other apps (like SuperSU).

Because we have not been able to prove that is what is going on, the ability is there, but this is extremely difficult to prove. But, the Adware and Malware are real and has been reported by AVG and others.
Different versions/payloads??

After a bit of digging through the same versions released, one on their website (https://kingroot.net/), and the other here on xda (https://forum.xda-developers.com/devdb/project/?id=9793#downloads), it appears that the payloads have been customized through some variances contained in the following files:
channel.ini, config.properties, KINGROOT.RSA, MANIFEST.MF, KINGROOT.SF, km, classes.dex
Specifically in the release channel# (channel.ini), the encrypted properties file (propertiesconfig.properties), and the (km) file.
So it's possible to have slightly different version of the payloads depending on where you've downloaded it from.
Any constructive input is welcome.

Interesting.. I wonder even though the release is the same, is the build a different number ?
Do you think it might have to do with trying different methods to root the device?

It is a different build number bro.if u look at the build number compared to first realease of 5.05 compared to latest release 5.05 theres a few extra numbers and/or letters in the new 5.05. But like one of the xda devs said if it's to the only way to get root do it because u can uninstall purify and replace kinguser with supersu
Using SuperSU is best.

Right so I have been using lucky patcher for over 3 years and never have I come accross a problem like this. Yesterday (19.1.18) Lucky Patcher was runnning perfectly but today it decided not to. The application is stuck on "get files from apk file" and it does not move. I have tried waiting, restarting my phone and even uninstalling the app and reinstalling it. However, none of these seem to work. Can anyone help me?
Ps.
I cannot even uninstall apps through it right now.

Lucky Patcher it is considered warez here on XDA and most probably on other forums as well. it may help to patch some system mods but also to hack and bypass the payment on paid applications allowing you to use it for free instead of paying for them.
According to Forum Rules

Would it be possible to get this phone added as a device, or maybe a General Questions thread for blu devices? Not sure if this is improper protocol here but if I looked around a bit and that just seems like the next logical step.. I think. Lol. There is a similar thread for getting root w/magisk but I believe that's it. If adding a new device is a bunch of extra work just point me in that direction and I'll put everything together if need be. Thanks. Again, sorry if this is out of line. Long time lurker, first time poster.

I have never posted here either, but have also frequented here over the last several years. I have this device, as well as a few other Blu products, just started learning them recently. Its a mediatek course, have poke around with various features , still trying to unlock the bootloader. Did successfully unlock the bootloader on my Blu v50 (g50 plus clone), but the process is not the same. I created an account for this, will be watching here and on a few other devices, hopefully we can get some info to continue tinkering

Well, I see there's not been any action here yet. Xda is hit or miss for less popular devices. I plan on messing with the b140dl tonight, hopefully unlock the bootloader and patch/flash magisk, I'll post the results either way.
I'd like to find a twrp or the firmware.. if a boot.bin or boot.img exists yet as I've been unsuccessful so far. Any kinda help much appreciated
Has anyone made any progress on this device in the last month or two? I know we all got lives to live but I could use some help....

i got into the phone by opening emergency calls. Then adding and editing emergency contact info. You will see the option to whe re you can call or send a text. choose text, then the three dots in top right corner allowing you to select details. In details click on notifications, then click the middle of the top of the screen which will open the messages app info. Now click open. open settings and choose permissions. Now you should see the search icon in the top right corner. Click it and type apps. In the apps go to play services and disable it, go back to where you typed apps and type accessibility. Go to accessibility and select the first option, think it is the accessibility menu. open it and turn it on...Now go all the way back to the start screen. Open the accessibility and and select the assistant. You will be asked to enable play services. after doing this you should be able to set up the device...if not restart the device and you should be able to then...If I haven't forgotten anything...I am going on memory alone with no device to refresh my steps...goodluck
A video of frp bypassing may help some people out as well. Have we got close to a guide on how to root and install custom recovery?

Lo' there have you or anyone else made any headway on the B140DL? I have 2 of these little Blu Bastards and totally went Frankenstein on one of them. (Yes it still works) I have found the reboot "Test Points" but haven't been successful in forcing Brom mode. If you can get it into Brom mode you can get MTK Client to recognize it and run the script to unlock the bootloader. But I'm not sure about getting it out of Brom after that. I'm not afraid to find out, I'll keep you posted on my progress.

Any update on this phone by any chance? Which test points are the correct ones?? I've been trying to figure It out for hours. And how did you find that info out if you don't mind me asking, just curious.
Turned mine on for the first time in a couple months, saw there's a security update. Won't be installing that, it seems unlikely but I'll hold out hope that a way to root or unlock bootloader is discovered for this phone someday. I'm on the July 5, 2022 update.
Ive tried this FRP bypass and I dont have the option of choosing permissions when I go to edit the text file. I have been able to get into drive but still havent found the app permissions options maybe it has been patched? The phone was last updated security wise oct 10 2022

The only thing I have gotten it to do from test point is reboot. The only thing that I can tell you is tear it down and start shorting them out one by one. But be careful, don't stay on point for too long. You may end cooking something.
