S6 Edge Battery Mod - Galaxy S6 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello.
I've been analyzing my S6 Edge battery and according to the AccuBattery app I'm using, my phone can only hold 1.811 mAh, from its original 2600mAh battery.
In search for a new original battery for replacement, I came across some battery mods for the S6E. A couple of users were (apparently successfully) fitting S7 Flat and S7 Edge battery on the S6 Edge. I've also seen some imported batteries for the S6E with the same size, but with 4950mAh storage capacity.
Did anyone ever tried that? Is it a good way to go?

high capacity batteries

Hello guys, I wonder if you can help me at all. I have a Samsung gt-i9000 running android 4.3 at the moment . When I upgraded the OS (I was on 4.0) I have noticed that the battery life decreased dramatically, It lasts no longer than half a day. I have already changed one battery but with not much success, so
I started to look into high capacity ones. I had a look around and found a few reviews here and there but not specifically for the gt-i9000 – even this useful one here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1956293 . So I wonder:
1)has anybody tried one of these high capacity batteries on the gt-i9000? I looked at the zerolemon 7500mAh and the anker 52000mAh - although I don't know whether these are compatible with my phone;
2)I presume that the high capacity batteries are actually thicker than the default 1500mAh I have at the moment, so when you buy one do they come with another back cover?

Hi, I recently bought a Polarcell 1800mAh battery on Ebay which gives me half a day more juice on Galaxy running CM 10.2. I found out that all batteries above this capacity are massively thicker than the original one and do require a wider back cover. Most of these bigger ones are shipped together with a back cover.
Regarding your questions about the zerolemon, I only found batteries for the S2 and the S3 which wont fit for the S1.
not your battery at fault, sounds like you got wakelock issues. with your rom.
thanks guys.
@zegovernator I think I need something more powerful than 1800mAh so I might need to get a bulky one. I have found this http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/3000mAh-B...-Extended-with-Black-back-cover-/150981110923 that seems to be good enough.
@slybunda, thanks for your comment. If it is an issue with that, would you know how to fix it without me buying another battery?
thanks
use app called better battery stats and see the individual wakelocks I had issues with google currents and hangouts both which I don't use so I disabled them and got my full battery life back. have a look for one of my posts in the i9000 battery threads got screenshots of very good battery life
Got 1800 battery from Anker, very good.
Only charges slowly with the car adapter.
Depends on kernel and rom for how long it lasts.. Was very good using android 4.3 but recently battery was discharging fast after gapps update.
Fine again now on kitkat
Buy from Ebay 1800 in good price,I did =)

any extended battery will work with Galaxy S6?

My choice of new cell phones was a Galaxy S6 or an iPhone 6 and I went with the S6. The only disadvantage of my new phone is that it isn't water-resistant like the Galaxy S5, which has saved my friend once by surviving washer. Also I find it charges the battery very fast, is this matter? And I would like to know if any extended battery that will work with Galaxy S6. Thank you.

Any micro usb and power source from the last 5 years (safely saying 5, can be probably 10 yrs) is okay to use to charge the S6. the output amps is what will decide how fast your phone will charge and you can see that information on the charger/battery itself
Morphie battery case for S6 doubles the power.

Release slated for may $99
Ideal you want a power bank that outputs 5 volts @ 2.1 amps. Some of the newer power banks have power-managing options that prevent over-charging and over-amp charging, though Smarphones at this time are already designed so that over-amping isn't a big deal.

The S6 has quick charging, so it charges very fast, and is completely normal. The battery is non-removable so you can't replace it with an extended battery like other Samsung phones, however you can get a power bank or a case with a built-in battery.

Where to buy genuine s7 edge battery?

Hey guys, so I bought a used s7 edge battery which has like 2950mah left and I installed it on my phone. I'm seeing great results so far but I want to buy a new one, original one that will give me even better results.
Can someone post a link where to buy it?
Thanks in advance
Hi
I've answered this many times...
Go here to buy a genuine S7 Edge Battery
http://www.samsungparts.com/mobile/Products.aspx?part=PID-GH43-04575A.aspx&model=SMG935F
They work with Samsung USA to provide original parts. I've contacted Samsung USA customer service myself.
The price is high but that is to get a original and not a copy.
They only ship to the US so if you live outside the US you need to use Shipito
Wait wait wait ... You replaced the S6 battery with an S7 edge battery?

How much is the back cover sticking out? A picture of it, perhaps?
This sounds like an awesome mod - in a few months, I may do this myself, as the battery on this 2 year old device is going south by the day.
does wireless charging work with this battery mod?

On the side where the battery is, it's just a bit thicker but with a cover it's not problem at all.
But battery life is great great.
Search on YouTube "swap s6 battery with s7 edge". There is a guy who made a video for it.

Personally I removed nfc and wireless charging thing to give it more space since I never use them
you can buy on your local samsung A.S.P.
if you are measure your battery with an app. Probably it wont measure right value. Becouse apps are using other apps consumption metric which is measured from android system. But not measuring systems itself in most case.
FYI.
i am using s7 edge battery on my s6 and i bought it from original samsng service , so its original. but measurement apps says that its 3050 - 3250. so i dont trust this app. you can only measure correct values with hardwares for this tasks.

Is Galaxy S6 still relevant in 2018 ??

Is s6 still relevant and how do you rate it in 2018??
can we get bigger battery (S7 battery ) ??
I was dissapointed about S6 battery and had for few days a brand new S7. In my usage pattern, both phones will last from 7am until 8pm so i think the answer to your question is yes, it's relevant.
If you're unhappy, you can swap battery with S7edge
I replaced the battery in my gf's S6, and will be adopting it soon. With a new battery, I'm happy about upgrading to it from my current LG G3.
I have S6 edge, charging every day and still with original battery, running custom ROM from day one. It is great device it is just boring after so many years
I had a Pixel 2 over Christmas and the plan was to sell my S6 but was never 100% happy with the change. The phone felt bigger despite having a smaller screen and the screen itself wasn't as good as the S6, imo. Luckily i could return it after Christmas.
Anyway what I'm saying is the S6 is still a great phone which I'll be sticking with until the new LG/Samsung phones are released and I'll go from there. As good as stock Android was the step up from the amazing S6 wasn't as big as i thought it would be, and there were some things i preferred on the S6.
Battery lasts a day easy for me. Can always top it up at work.
The camera on the Pixel 2 as amazing though.
Its still 2018
its 2018 and its still amazing phone and with s7 edge battery u cant find better phone for that price:laugh::silly:
its still awesome phone no lag at all
(99.9% lag free) the bad thing is the battery for me, I just need to replace it!)

[Q] New S6 battery from UK seller

As above I need a new battery, as mine drains in about an hour. Sometimes dropping 20% in about 5 minutes.
So I need and tried a trusted UK seller for a new battery, figured I should give it a go before getting an S9 or OnePlus6.
Instead of getting a regular S6 battery, get a battery for the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge. Which will help a lot. I have the S7E Battery in my S6 and Battery Life is great.
Which is fine but I still need a reputable seller. Thanks though
