Bixby voice, hide nav working on Samsung G955W "canada" - Samsung Galaxy S8 Guides, News, & Discussion

Hello
By flasking the system.img.ext4 from SM-G955U, I was able to get on my Canadian version Bixby voice and hide nav.
The only down will loose the WifiCall.
Can't flash the csc " well in Odin yeah " but it won't take effect since
The system.img has already has a general Samsung CSC in it.
Now that u you know it's possible to flash U firmware, since I've seen lot of threads saying no while a little says yes but it trigger knox. Not true it won't at least it never did with my Samsung phones.
I need your help to find a way to remove the Samsung csc.
Does unpacking and repacking the system.img.ext4 would work ?

How did you flash the system.img.ext4? Odin?

[MOD] Hotspot Native Enabled - Verizon - S6(Rooted) - OC3/OE2

For those that have done root. Verizon Galaxy S6- G920VVRU1AOC3/G920VVRU1AOE2 Only!!!
Differnet phones can have different frameworks. Do not attempt to flash this on a different phone unless you want to possible have to ODIN Back to stock.
This will only work if...
1. You have root on Verizon S6 - G920VVRU1AOC3/G920VVRU1AOE2
2. You have @Chainfire- Flashfire app installed so you can flash this zip file. Located here.....
I have included stock framework-res flashable if you want to go back..
Galaxy S6 Phone OnlyG920VVRU1AOC3:
Flashable HotSpot (Galaxy S6-G920VVRU1AOC3)
Flashable Revert to Stock Framework
Galaxy S6 Phone OnlyG920VVRU1AOE2:
Flashable HotSpot (Galaxy S6-G920VVRU1AOE2)
Flashable Revert to Stock Framework
Not responsibile for, you if you flash on something other than what I built this for. And if you do flash it on said device, then I am still not respondsible as this is all a risk always.. 100% time. Always a risk...
Good job! Thanks
Of all the mods I was hoping for, this is easily #1. You rock Gun! Now to read up on this flashfire stuff... guess I may as well get used to not having an unlocked BL anymore.

Thanks for this~ Seems to be working, I don't have another wifi device at work to test it.
Just a quick question, if I were to go back to stock would I have to flash to stock framework and then flash the hotspot file again or just flash the stock framework?

VZW GS6 Edge Help?!
I have the VZW GS6 Edge, however my device is G925VVRU1AOC3. Any chance of getting support with this? Or possibly the instructions to remove the tether check. I have Flashfire so would it be possible to "backup" the partition you modified and change with your instructions? Thanks for any feedback.

That's just the stock framework, you only need to flash the hotspot file. I think gun put it there to test if flash fire works on your device. Just a guess.

Were you trying to create a link to flashfire? I think that might be the confusion as there are two links in OP that both direct to the stock framework.

Extracted PH2 bootloader & modem?

Do anyone have a link they can share of the latest extracted (PH2) bootloader & modem please?
I'm looking too, but looks like no one cares about our crappy tmo non-ux official Rom... normally a dev base would've been released by now along with separate BL & CP for those like me who don't want to do the full stock flash...

I'm looking around as well , I need my baseband back I have no service even after flashing back to stock rom
DPH2 Boot.img and Modem.bin
Here is a link to the boot and modem files that I extracted from N920TUVS4DPH2_N920TTMB4DPH2_TMB found on the SAMMOBILE site.
https://app.box.com/s/na0nhdi36zqtdqnd4eu656fr1jhasqj3
*I have not flashed these yet. And I can't say for certain that they uploaded correctly.
What is the process of flashing these without having to do a full flash? Odin doesn't let me select the boot.img file for the BL option.
Boot.img isn't the bootloader it's the kernel

What exactly do you mean? I guess if you're asking how you make them Odin flashable? Best thing to do ous follow ones if the guides on making a flashable tar - it's not very hard but you'll need some flavor of Linux to make the tarball, I use Ubuntu- latest LTS 16.04, but many have upgraded to yakkety (16.10) so you might start finding guides written based on it instead, but it's only a couple command lines executed in the terminal... or you could maybe adb push the bin file directly to the device, but I wouldn't recommend it unless you're VERY capable with Linux, adb, and recovering from mistakes in that environment...

Should I ever get around to it I'll make one and post it because I need to update too, but that's not the only bin you need in the tarball either, there's a total of 3 bootloader on our devices, along with a few other partitions that we honestly have no idea about - in any event you're ALWAYS best to flash the official factory firmware to be sure everything is updated correctly, otherwise you can break things that you'd never even think...

I remember the days of the s3 and s4. There were always flashable modem.bin files available for easy updates

Both files are in the Firmware tar.
You can flash the modem.bin directly with Odin. (CP)

The problem is, I CAN NOT download the full firmware file from anywhere. i tried sammobile and few other sites but all have a download time more than 3 hours and after 30 minutes or an hour of downloading, the download stop and have to start again.
there is no stable link. i would appreciate it if anyone can share the full firmware or just the modem and bootloader since those are smaller files
Thanks

Hi.

Thanks
There are guides to rooting the note 5 in this forum.. just have to look for them.
THERE IS a guide on rooting dpk6 however its deeply engranded and convoluted cause everyone did root ages ago before these updates....before we all jumped back on our note5....after note7 lmao

will my samsung pay work again?
No.
No.
Samsung and Android Pay require a level of security that is broken when you root your device.
The ONLY way to get them to work is to unroot your phone and go to the stock “out of the box” version. Meaning, no root.
How can i root on this Version?
The same way you root the other ROMs.
Odin the ROM, then Odin TWRP, then flag superuser in recovery.
If you aren't familiar with rooting Android them PLEASE read up on it first. There are plenty of theads on here on the subject. If you're not familiar with that you are more likely to do damage to your phone, like bricking it.

It's alive...it's alive I tell you
It could have been a number of things that prevented me from flashing on Odin but I will just tell you what I did to get Odin to work. First I went back to an older version of Odin 3.10 Then I downloaded another copy of Nougat 7.1 update firmware from updato, download took over 6 hours to complete (just slow) . I then started Odin as administrator and I must confess I might have miss this step. [emoji10] Anyway firmware flashed without any failures. I have my phone back running 7.1 Nougat. And I can tell you this since update phone is more responsive , no lag at all.
