The phone is excellent, however the signal is too weak both in 2G and 3G mode. The local company of telecommunications checked the network and is OK. They said that the problem is the phone, hot the line. How can I fix the problem?

Hi there
I recently bought an Alcatel 991d and replaced it a couple of times due to signal loss and sim freezing (no internet, sms, and calls on either the sims). I passed to a Samsung Y duos which is more stable although it seems to still have some signal problem (when this signals is lost it does not come back although a good coverage area is reached, 3g icon disappear and no internet surfing is allowed, sims freezing (rare). With the Alcatel other people experiences serious problems expecially under poor coverage areas and hypothesized the problem could be related to the continuous jumping from 3g to 2g cells. Actually my Samsung y duos goes nice and smooth when I only use the 2g network. Do you think that countinous jumping form 3g to 2g can cause problem to android smartphone in general? Can you think to a solution for this?
thanks a lot!
my friend have similar problems on Gigabyte dual sim phone (I forget model name). didn't found solution yet
Hello!
I`ve got FAEA F1 on hands, this is second model that I have - first F1 was broken when he fall to floor from 15m. I`ve ordered new FAEA F1 because it`s nice phone for that price and ALL worked good...First F1 worked perfect for 6 months.
faeamobile.com/faea-f1-features
This phone have Qualcomm 8225Q as CPU, so all must be fine, but...
Problem is that I have 2 SIM-cards,and internet working ONLY on 2G (EDGE) or "GSM only" in settings.
On #1 sim-card when I turn on 3G, signal is out. Just no signal at all. Switching to "GSM only" - all ok, signal is good, internet works on EDGE.
#2 sim-card just don`t have internet connection on working 3G. Signal is good, but just no any connections. On 2G (GMS only) all working good and internet works on EDGE. This two sim-cards are from different network operators.
This cards works perfectly in another phones, and worked good in first F1.
I`ve bought card from #3 network with 4G frequences and it`s like #2 - no intenter connection on 3G signal and only EDGE.
I flashed all firmwares for this phone, original and not, but nothing helps...
What can I do more? I think it`s problem in modem settings, but how I can change it?
Some users of F1 have the same problems.
So, what I can do more?
Thanks
Hi guys,
I have bought a (new) refurbished HTC One S from china at a very good price but it has a problem:
When I enable 3g, the network signal drops to zero and the phone turns off immediately.
I went to another city (bigger) and there it worked with 3g enabled, but with bad signal. When I left the city, signal dropped to zero and phone turned off.
In my town I've never had signal issues with other phones, with 3g.
In "only gsm" mode, it works perfectly, with signal between -63 and -90 db.
I tried all European RUU's and many custom roms, the problem remains the same.
What do you think? Hardware problem at final amplifier? (3g consumption is bigger I think).
I've tried also with elementalX with extra voltage or overclock. No results.
Hello,
My N5 was working perfectly and suddenly this week the phone won't connect to any 2G network, when i switch to 3G/LTE it work normally but in my area there isn't a good coverage and it drains the battery, i tried other sims same problem and when i do w network search i get no carrier listed.
Any help please!
Hello. I've used this forum (from a lurking perspective) for any and all issues I've encountered with my phones over the years, but I've come across an issue on my grandfather's phone that's got me completely stumped. I've searched the internet high and low for similar issues and can't find anything useful. The only time someone had a similar problem, the problem by and large went unsolved.
Here's essentially whats going on. First issue, the phone does not want to make a phone call. It will go to "dialing..." for somewhere between 3 and 6 seconds before going straight to the "call ended" screen. Every once in awhile it will connect after sitting on "dialing..." for a moment. The phone will receive calls and you are able to hear the other person and they're able to hear you. It sends and receives texts (though he says occasionally it won't, but I have yet to experience this issue). Second issue, for whatever reason the phone doesn't want to transfer mobile data, despite the notification bar saying "4G LTE" with 3/5 bars. Sometimes when 4G LTE isn't connecting and it goes to 3G (despite my identical phone next to it being functionally connected to 4G) the data will work, albeit slowly.
I've cleared the cache, I've done a factory reset, I've re-flashed the firmware through odin. Nothing seems to make it better. I'm starting to think it's SIM or antenna related, but I'll admit I'm not a tech professional. Anyone have any ideas? Here's the SIM's read out compared to my working phone's readout.
Not working S6
Network: US Cellular
Signal Strength: -81 dBm 8 asu
Mobile network type: CDMA - EvDo rev. A
Service state: In service
Roaming: Not roaming
Mobile network state: connected
Working S6
Network: US Cellular
Signal Strength: -99 dBm 41 asu
Mobile network type: LTE

Both phones are set to preferred network mode LTE/CDMA, but the one that doesn't want to make calls struggles to utilize LTE, and when it seemingly does, data doesn't transfer. If you need any other supplemental information, I'll be happy to provide it. Thanks for any input!
Sounds like it could be a hardware related issue, you've done a clean flash of the firmware which will include modem and bootloader so if there was a software related problem that should have resolved it. Most likely some sort of antenna issue of anything, is it still under warranty?

That's what I was afraid of. Not anymore, he just doesn't want to spend the cash to buy a new one. Thanks for the insight!
