Stock Rom Flash Fail - Samsung Galaxy S8+ Questions & Answers

Hey Guys,
I was trying installing twrp via odin which gave me the green "pass" sign when I tried booting recovery to finalize the rooting process when my phone went into a boot loop. Ive waited, tried booting into recovery, and reinstalling twrp but no use. Download mode works fine but when I try reinstalling stock rom via odin I get a failed sign. Its the first time this happens. Any suggestions?

Why did you try to root in the firstplace? What are the benefits?
And is it worth to brick a new mobile? Please don't understand me wrong im just wondering and I don't want to sound like a wise guy.

Try this one.

I've also seen that there are some hacked odins around that might help too.

Thanx for the help but still no use.. Some say repartitioning would help but I hear its dangerous as well. Would u recommend it? If so whats the safest way of doing so?

Not sure, this is the first Samsung I've had since the Note 3 and a lot of things have changed. I'm sure there's some info on repartitionting on XDA some where, maybe not on the S8+ forum.

[Q] TF101 unable to boot - unrecoverable bootloader 0x000000004 error

Hi, hope somebody can help me with my B70 TF101, rooted but everything else stock.
Earlier this week I received an Encryption Unsuccesfull message, tablet worked fine in the morning, would not work in the afternoon.
I tried a factory reset (volume down & power, but no luck, it starts but then displays the android with red exclamation mark.
After searching the forum I tried to use Easyflasher's unbricking/ flashing stock firmware tool with the latest Asus update for the US, chose SBK2 as it is a B70, Easyflasher showed succes, however when I tried to reboot the TF I receive the unrecoverable bootloader 0x000000004 error .
Anybody have any ideas what went wrong and how to correct this?
Thank you.

Can you boot in recovery?
Edit: Err.. did you flash the right ROM? Every one that has that problem is on the Prime, not the TF101. See this thread, brick 1b and 2.
No recovery, I can only get into APX.
Used US_epad-user-9.2.1.27 with Easyflasher. Downloaded from the Asus site.

Any other ideas or suggestions?
Is my TF101 now permanently bricked?
Can you flash it again with easy flasher?

I tried reflashing with Easyflasher, it shows success, but gives the same error at reboot.
Can you try an older revision of the firmware?

If flashing stock fails again then try following step
Instead of flashing stock rom, Try flashing recovery(TWRP) through easy flash, if that's a success then get into recovery n DELETE/FORMAT internal memory, cache, dalvik and everything under wipe option... down a custom ROM and flash it.. that might work
Sent from my Transformer using xda app-developers app

Looking for an older version of the stock to download, no longer on the Asus site. Where else can I find that? Need a US version of the stock.

I have tried to flash TWRP, receive success confirmation, but can not boot into recovery, still giving the unrecoverable boot error message.
Any other suggestions?
Looks like you're using an unsigned loader or something... but at this point I'm not sure how to solve this. Maybe try posting in the easy flasher thread, the author might have some ideas. If you want to start learning the more hardcore stuff, you can take a look here, though it's for a different model but can point you in the right direction.
This guy had the motherboard replaced to fix it.
People having the same problem, you should keep an eye out there as well.
Finally, last ditch effort... maybe roll back to 3.0? See the update in this post.
Even though some help/answers are for different models, they can help you think of new solutions or provide generic tools; it's worth looking into.
Thanks for the assistance. I gave up on the tf101 and bought a Note 2.

[Q] Galaxy Proclaim stuck in recovery mode. Please Help!

I have a Galaxy Proclaim that I had previously flashed Area Rom onto. It worked fine until I went into the settings and reset the phone. Now it just boots into recovery mode. I can still get it into download mode and tried using odin to reflash both the original and modded kernel. I even tried restoring a nandroid backup I made of the device a while back. The last thing i tried was the one click unbrick but that didn't work either.
Thanks in advance,
Jpocolypse

Have you tried flashing an entirely new rom from recovery mode, to see if their is an issue with the roms you currently have?

[Q] 10.1 GT-N8013 soft brick

I'm having a problem with my GT-N8013. If I turn it on the screen looks like a television tuned to a channel with no signal. Mostly white, with black dots in random vertical patterns. I can boot it in download mode. I have tried reinstalling the OEM ROM but nothing seems to help. I have also tried installing various ROMs and the same result. Any ideas?
Did you tried odin ??

Note 5 keeps boot loopig after odin back to stock?

So Ive tried going back to stock with odin using the COJ5 software. Baseband was previously COI5 with custom rom and kernel. I received my Gear VR today and it wont play with the COI5 baseband at all. What should I do???? Phone just keeps bootlooping and freezing at the T-Mobile screen. Flash passes in Odin fine. Any help?
Well false alarm guys and gals. I had to trick the phone into going in recovery then I did a factory wipe that way and I'm good to go! Just figured I would mention this incase any others had my issue!
Yeah, you gotta do the wipe.
also mentioned in the thread that most people have used to flash to 6.0 http://forum.xda-developers.com/tmo...ndroid-6-0-marshmallow-note-5-t3250812/page39

I dont think he wouldve searched there since it seems he was upgrading from COI5 to COJ5 and not downgrading from the leaked MM build..

I guess you're correct I would have searched bootlooping and looked at everything and tried everything. But that's just me thanks for your reply

Frankly wiping (be it cache or a full factory) should be troubleshooting step number 1 when it comes to a boot loop.

Again I can't argue that point either I'm old school I'm going to search my ass off before I post a thread. Thats how I do my searches and I start reading other stuff you actually find other things that may help you down the line. But that's just me
You also need the pit file. Otherwise it won't boot. You'd get into boot loop.

Nah he shouldn't need a pit for COJ5 unless he damages a partition which doesn't seem likely as he was only upgrading.
Just boot into recovery and wipe everything, and Odin COJ5 again.
