Okay so I bought a Samung S6 (SM-G920P) carrier unlocked online and it came with a custom firmware which is why I couldn't update from 5.1.1 (Lollipop) to 7.0 (Nougat). I flashed my phone to 7.0 with the same model (SM-G920P) but I can't connect to a mobile network and this is where I think the CSC code needs to be changed to my region? I also looked on the back of my phone and saw "SM-G920R4", does that mean I can flash SM-G920R4 or should I stick to SM-G920P? Could you also answer if I need a different CSC code please.
Thank you!

Looks like your model is actually G920R4, that's why you can get any signal because that model only works on cdma

So if I flash 7.0 (SM-G920R4) I will be able to get signal? It's got a USA carrier and I'm not in the US, but my phone was bought unlocked, should that matter? Will I still get signal after flashing SM-G920R4?
Actually it might work, if it has a sim slot you have to put inside a LTE FDD compatible sim. According to Samsung, phone has FDD LTE capabilities on B2, B4, B5, B12.

Flash SM-G920R4 that will work GSM. I did this on mine. Your device has hardware for the GSM and CDMA networks. I assure you.
Use the Network app (Philipp Managelow) on Google Play to free up other networks that were not originally available.

Alright will do. I can't seem to find a SM-G920R4 firmware. On samsmobile the download page always says "Session Expired click forums to refresh" but whenever I refresh my browser (exiting it and opening it again) I get the same message. Is there any other site with the correct firmware?

I live in Europe(Austria)
we can in the hidden menu lte turn on,but after a reboot is gone and you have to make everything from scratch.
I found a Trick and i can reboot and Lte works after the reboot.
I tested now days but now it seems to work.
it works with Kitkat with lollipop I do not know
1.Your Mobile Phone must be rooted
2.I have Es File Explorer installed.
3.Go in Es File Explorer and search in System/App LteConfigs.apk and LteConfigs.odex and delete or Backup it on the SD Card.
4.Go in Device/Cust and search the cust.prop,before you edit this file make a Backup and copy the cust.prop in the External Memory.
5.cust.prop my original looks like this
ro.build.target_operator=CHT
ro.build.target_country=TW
ro.build.factory_operator=CHT
ro.build.factory_country=TW
ro.build.target_region=ESA
ect.....
i edit the first and third line to(in Red)
6.
ro.build.target_operator=OPEN
ro.build.target_country=TW
ro.build.factory_operator=OPEN
ro.build.factory_country=TW
ro.build.target_region=ESA
Save this and set permissions.
Reboot the Phone.
I hope this works on another Lg G Pro2 D838!
I take no responsibility if something goes wrong(Bootloops,or the phone does not start!
Update:After a Factory Reset works fine,without any apps and hidden menu.
At the very first start is automatic on GSM/WCDMA/LTE

Has anyone else tried this?

The only was works on 10f,
Root the GP2 and Remove in system/app Lteconfig.apk and Lteconfig.odex
You have in Networksetting 2G/3G/4G
But Reboot the GP2 you must be manually in Networksetting 2G/3G/4G
Default is 2G/3G
Or install Xposed Modules and Gravitybox in Settings is Network Automatic on Boot.
I have the same problem no lte after update what i should do !?
in cust.prop change to

ro.build.factory_operator=GLOBAL
How !?

Hi,
I have a S8+ with the model SM-G955FD and was wondering if I am able to download the firmware for the model SM-G955F?
The phone was purchased outside of Australia and doesn't use the Australian (Telstra) firmware that I would like it to. I just figured they are the same phone just different model numbers so there shouldn't be any issues right? I might just lose a couple features or something but the phone should work correctly?
Thanks in advance.
Yea, the G955FD is the dual SIM Exynos variant, right?
I'm sure the dual SIM uses the same firmware as the single SIM, so you should have no worries flashing Aussie firmware.
But I would suggest you flash the XSA (Aussie unbranded) firmware, not Telstra firmware. You'll lose nothing, but you'll get faster updates.

In USA band 41(2500 MHz) is used for VoLTE/LTE by most of carriers but in India band 40(2300 MHz) is used for VoLTE by Jio. So if you buy any US variant smartphone, Most probably it will have support of only band 41. This is one of the reason not to buy phone from USA if you plan to bring it to india. This is why you should buy phones from india.

Not entirely true. Jio calling works only on VoLTE.. no fallback to 2g/3g. So VoLTE works on all bands, 850/1800/2300MHz. If it were only 2300, i shouldn't have volte when am on 850band and calls should fail in areas distant from signal Tower where only 850 can reach.
Regarding VoLTE functionality on US models... It's relevant to CSC. if you can flash indian CSC, you'll have volte but to modify CSC, you need root. for now, we don't have root on S8 USA models.

Indian models are exynos based.. you can't simply ODIN like that (US models are snapdragon based).
Am using S7 sprint version on Jio with Indian CSC, so VoLTE works for me. My S8 should arrive in 1wk. I'll post if i succeed somehow

Yup sim is working fine im using internet smoothly. Nd calling done trough jio voice app. If it was band problem it wont for internet also
The main problem is with volte feature phn try to call through simple network whereas jio calls r go through volte internet system
If u find someway to on volte feature of usa model it will work fine
VoLTE relies on CSC. But because you bought a US version, I don't think you can flash an Exynos CSC on a Snapdragon phone.
So unless you can figure that out, you won't have VoLTE.
Anyone got the solution

Just install Jio4GVoice from apk monk (not from Playstore as you may not see it there) and make it default calling app. It's a workaround and should work.

Use jio4gvoice apk. Which is available in play store.
It worked in Android 7.0.0
I am using US t-mobile s8+ and when i was on Android 7.0.0 using shortcut master application and there is option to change ims setting and we can enable volte through this application and it works very well. But after updating my phone to Android 8.0.0, I again tried to change IMS setting through shortcut master, nova launcher and many more application. But permission denied or some errors occurred.
So it's possible but we just need to give permission to change IMS setting. So if you have solution to change ims setting without root then tell us because in Android 7.0.0 there was no need to root phone for change the IMS setting.

If it's 955F model, you can simply flash 955fd model latest indian firmware.
https://updato.com/firmware-archive-select-model?record=DF486A9A1EA311E99F15FA163EE8F90B
If you are new to flashing, check youtube videos on how to flash via ODIN (even the page i linked will have instructions.)
Which CVC version from which country would you recommend to use on the S8+ G955F international version for use with the US carriers?
If possible enabling VoLTE and WiFi Calling.
Using Odin only, NO root, to not trigger Knox.
I've been installing XAA/XAA on my families, friends and my phone/s. ROM is CarHDROM v9. This ROM is a NOTE 8 ROM.
Make sure your CSC is compatible with the 'model' ROM you have on the phone, and not necessarily the stock hardware 'model' of the phone.

VoLTE and Wifi calling show up as Blue (available-enabled), though I have never tried to use either. I live in an area where internet service is about 4-5 mbs, and cell service just gets to a few, 3G bars. In town the data is 4G and great, though I always just call directly.

On an international phone I think you can flash CSC without triggering Knox . . . ?
I found XAA/XAA works great. I have tried out the XAA/AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon and Sprint CSC's, within the main XAA, but AT&T, et al comes with bloatware the respective boot logos. I have a Note 8 custom ROM, so I have to use a CSC for a Note 8 phone.
Using the XAA/XAA unbranded carrier, no bloatware, and all GSM phones, 7's and 8's, have worked just fine.

I don't know if it is 'independent' from the ROM I'm using, I just know they show up blue/enabled. Never tried them.
The ROM is a ported Note 8 'F' ROM.
I'm not sure if this is supported, I can't seem to get much help from AT&T, but I purchased an unlocked Note 10+ from Samsung. I do not have WiFi Calling which is a crucial feature since my office has terrible reception and I use the phone for work.
Is this something I should be able to get working with help from my carrier or is this ROM/build specific? Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

Along with one or two pros, I found this to be one of the cons in using an unlocked phone with Verizon a couple of years ago, along with no notifications. I spent countless hours over several days on the phone with Samsung and Verizon before finding out this was a known (by Samsung) issue. I returned mine and got the Verizon branded one. Things may have changed since then, but it cured me of the unlocked version, especially since contracts have fallen by the wayside. If they can't resolve the WiFi calling, Samsung should allow you to return it. I hope someone else has a solution for you.

Glad I read first, I'm going through the same thing right now. Just downloaded the firmware from Sammobile about to try and see.

I Tried flashing the AT&T firmware N975U1UEU1ASH4 from Sammobile and sill no wifi calling.
I am in the same boat. Just out of curiosity what does the service provider SW ver. look like? Mine shows ATT/ATT/XAA
Still no wifi calling or carrier specific options...it's kind of strange that these phones provision the features when you put a sim card in.
I called both At&t and Samsung who were equally less than helpful.
I am looking back to some of the S8+ forums about CSC swapping because I feel like that might be a starting place...

You downloaded N975U1 unlocked rom, it was still rom for unlocked note 10 not AT&T or variant note 10. If you want full AT&T features like wifi calling, video calling..you should download and odin this firmware N975USQU1ASH4 which is AT&T Variant N975U. I am still on unlocked Galaxy note 9 N960U1 and I odin Verizon note 9 SM-N960U on my unlocked Galaxy note 9. The ROM works with every carrier anyway.

Okay , I got my WIFI calling . This is the correct one to download and flash......... DO NOT Download the one that says AT&T it's going to just flash the same N975U1. Good luck:good:
I'm thinking about doing this. Will flashing the at&t firmware wipe the phone? Articles I've read says it doesn't. Is that correct?

Also can someone confirm the correct at&t firmware for the Note 10? Also use the USA(USC) version?

Thank you! I was able to successfully flash with this ROM and now have the AT&T features I was missing!
What about for the regular Note 10? Is it N970USQU1ASH4 for the unlocked AT&T version?
I just flashed the regular Note 10. Still no wifi calling. In the Service Provider SW ver, it says ATT/ATT/XAA so I believe I've flashed the ATT firmware?
Baseband version
N970UIUEUIASH4
Service provider SW ver.
SAOMC SM-N970UI_OYM_ATT_PP_0030
R58M81758ZM
ATT/ATT/XAA
I just flashed to N970USQU1ASH4, and got the AT&T bloat and wifi calling, but theres no cellular service anymore. I tried flashing back, but now am getting a model mismatch error. I dont know what to do anymore.
Did you download from the sammobile site? Did you use the att or usc firmware?

I flashed N970USQU1ASH4_N970UOYN1ASH4_USC from sammobile.com
Hmm I did the same thing. I flashed both the att and usc firmwares. Odin said pass but I didn't see any difference. I used the home_csc file though. I didn't want to wipe my phone before knowing whether I used the right firmware.
I have an N970u1 but flashed it to the u version. Is that what you did?
Well my model number still says U1. So does that mean that me flashing both the USC and ATT firmwares did nothing?

I understand what you're asking me now. No I used the u1 firmwares.

Did you get your phone working? I'm hesitant to give the U firmware a try now.

Reading another thread, did you first boot up with an att sim card before flashing? I believe you have to do that first.
Ota updates
Will the OTA updates work after flashing the att stuff? I know theres a new firmware but the phone is saying it's up to date.
I'm having a problem with this too. I flashed the USC version and got the ATT Bloat, but when I try to enable wifi calling I get "Oops! Wi-Fi Calling can't be turned on right now. Please call 611 or 800-901-9878 for assistance. (APP0008) Can anyone help?
Is it possible they are locking Wifi calling based on IEMI?
