HI!
I own a Nokia 3 Ta1032. I noticed recently that my phone won't change the notifications volume when I move any of the alarm media or ring volume sliders. The Viber, Massenger etc. Notifications just stay the same loudness. I contacted Nokia support through the support apk. But no help from them.
Does anyone else experience this problem?
I have the exact same problem..
If, Anyone else is having this problem, PLEASE write here. I contacted Nokia via Mail, I want to send them a link if we have some more confirms.
I just got a reply from Nokia, saying that basically that is how Google designed the phone. I can't believe this. Even the old Nokia 3310 would lower the SMS volume together with the ringtone volume.
SOLVED!
Recently there was an update for the Nokia 3, and they solved the volume issue.
Well done Nokia!
Update

Yes it's the bigger bug of the Z3. Hope that Sony starts to investigate.....
Waiying new update
Solution
No need to wait to for an update.
1. Go to settings - sound - system notification sound: select no sound. Do the same with whatsapp settings.
2. Install lightflow. Go to lightflow notification settings, select and activate individual notification sounds for whatsapp, whatsapp groups, gmail, messages etc.
3. Go to lightflow volume settings, activate individual lightflow notification sounds and adjust their volume as needed.
4. Sorted!

Really? I was able to get a notification sound that was plenty loud. As loud as my previous phone LG G2. And with the same sound.
edit: Experimenting further revieled that my success was related to the notification sound used. I am using a mp3 tune from my sd cards music library. Choose an original sound from Z3 and the sound is weak again.
I used light flow, did not hear a difference between the sound. The volume is still low
have this issue as well. hope the new version will be able to solve this problem.
Waiting sony to start rolling an update, it takes time sony why others solve their software rapidely
Same issue here. Definitely looking for a fix to this or an update as it's quite annoying to listen to the sound and hear it plenty loud only to have it be really quiet (even at full notification volume) when receiving texts or other notifications.

Same here. Hope the update isn't too far into the future. Although, it might be bundled with lollipop a couple of months from now.

Don't hold your breath on an update to address this, the Z2 has the same issue and it was never fixed by Sony. There was a sound mod though, but it required root...which may not be a possibility for some Z3s.

Make sure you have set a proper ringtone, with high volume and make sure the profile is 'General' and no set to 'Silent' or 'Vibration' mode.
Hi there,
My Mate 8 (NXT-AL10C00B137) came in yesterday, and whow, am I impressed!
There is one thing though that keeps puzzleing me: where is the option to adjust the notifications sound volume??
I can adjust ringtone, alarm, media and phone....
It is my first Huawei (being with Samsung Since first Note 1) so defenitely noob on EMUI. But I have looked all over, can't seem to find it.
Anyone? What am I missing here...
Regards,
notification volume should be bound to one of the others, i.e. ringtone or alarms. i got everything maxxed out and the notifications come in loud and clear

Yeah, well that is just my point: I am used to have the Phone's ringtone to max, but the notifications to a low setting.
Somehow, that doesn't seem to be possible on Marshmallow/ EMUI??
At the moment downloading Volume Butler which seems to be able to differentiate between notification and ringtone. Too bad that this seems to be the only possibility!
***EDIT***
This is turning me crazy! Volume Butler app doesn't supply this option either...
Regards,
ah right! well, as long as u can get it working...

Well... I don't actually.
This is absolutely bizarre and frustrating!!
oh just saw that! not good...
I know what you mean, but I got around the problem (in a P8 updated to Marshmallow) by doing the following...
I usually only ever use 1 notification tune, so I reduced the volume of its equivalent MP3 file (using the free MP3Gain from 88dB to 75dB) & placed it in the Internal storage>Notifications folder (via a USB cable connected to my PC).
I then went into notifications settings & changed it to the reduced-volume file. Whole operation took a few minutes to do.
Now it sounds lower than the ringtone, just like I need it

Well, after writing the above I found that using a third-party app solves the issue
I was fiddling about in the All-In-One Toolbar app & downloaded/installed the 'Volume Settings Plugin' from within the app (Toolbox button > Plugins tab), & it works fine now!
From the Plugin, one can also create a shortcut for easier access.
P.S. If you use the phone's main settings (or rocker switch?) to change the ringtone volume, the notification volume also changes accordingly. So, depending on how you need it, have may you go back into the Volume Settings Plugin app to change the notifications volume
Has this been resolved? I notice the same for my Mate 9. Would really like to separate the volume for both Notifications/text tones and ringtones

how do i remove headset icon from huawei mate 8 i cant receive calls
Hello guys, I have my Nokia 7 Plus since yesterday, and the first problem occurred.
When the phone rings it is so loud, but when I receive notifications of any kind (Viber, Whatsapp, SMS) it is so low, almost impossible to hear on the street (even on the max ring volume).
I know there is no way to separate the volume of ring and notifications on the official 8.1.0, but can you recommend some workaround for this at the moment?
Thanks
I noticed this too.
if you put on the volume down or up there is a pop-up on the screen.
On the right side is a arrow.
click on the arrow en the pop-up fold out.
Now you can change the ring volume and the notifications volume.
If I press the volume hardware buttons and then tap the arow down to drop the sliders menu I only get 3 sliders; Media, Phone and Alarm.
This is verry annoying, I allways miss my texts and whatapps.
I contacted Nokia customer care, there they tell you to reset data and cache of messages, whatsapp and the settings app, then do a softreset on your phone. DON'T do this.
It only results in having to set every ringtone and notification sound back to your preferences and the problem still remains.
Anybody with a solution?
Maybe in the Android 9 Pie update?
Btw, still running Android 8.1 in Belgium.
I have tried Pie but the problem remains. Even on max volume Viber and SMS sound is so quiet.
What I have done is I have downloaded louder ringtones from Zedge and now I use them.
I don't understand why this problem is present, even more because our Nokia has such a loud sound...
I have 2 apps installed, WhatsApp and Ring Doorbell that are not giving me sound notifications. For me the volume on this device is not very loud. I work in a noisy environment and need loud volume. My last phone (Note 5) I did that sound mod changing the volume xml file and used very loud notification sounds (mp3) and it was perfect. So I took those sound files from the Note and put them into the Mi 10 Ultra in Ringtones folder and set them. Since then I get no sound notifications.
I did some digging and found an app 'Hidden Settings for MIUI' and set it to 'play sounds', but that didn't fix the issue either. I'm completely new to MIUI and am all out of ideas. Its strange, but when I open the phone, the WhatsApp notification sound beeps to let me know I have a message, but I have to open the phone, if its sitting in my pocket I get no notification. Ring Doorbell is not working at all as far as notifications go. Nothing. If someone who knows MIUI could give me some help it would be greatly appreciated.
Edit: shouldn't have wasted my time
That's it for me. SIM out and back to my Note 5. Great phone but the software is atrocious, if I had of known the nightmare this would be I wouldn't have bought this phone. So now it goes back into its box where it will stay, 6 months 1 year I don't care, until there is an alternative to using this absolute mess that MIUI is. A real shame, but something as simple as a couple of apps really is the deal breaker for me. Maybe I'll sell it? Global ROM? Who knows ....but for now its a useless device that can't even run a couple of apps? That is as bad as it gets. Its privacy settings are the worst I have ever seen. Disguised as 'protecting you' but in reality its the other way around. If I wanted to be locked out and locked in and locked down I would have bought an Apple iPhone. Xiaomi makes good phones, but their MIUI software is the worst I have ever seen. I would not recommend anyone buy this device.
I actually was facing this problem and found out a fix. You just have to turn vibration on. For some reason some apps don't make a sound if it doesn't have vibration on for notifications.

I have Ring doorbell and Whatsapp working (sort of) as sometimes they are delayed.
I had to change settings/notifications/ring and set rules for notification as important and also make sure all notification settings are on
Then fo to settings/apps/manage apps/ring and make sure Autostart is on and set permissions to make sure the bottom 4 are set to green ticked. Then make sure restrict data usage set to WLAN and Mobile data and then set Battery Saver to No restrictions.
Hopefully it will work after that. Do similar things to other apps that may not be making notifications correctly.
PS I'm using China ROM
So I had this issue and figured out a sure way to get sound notifications working.
You just have to turn vibration on in the subtype of notification for said specific app. If you don't want vibration on all notifications for that specific app turn it off otherwise.
Here is the thing that helped me with the same notification issue! Just google "xiaomi mi 10 ultra notifications" and in the top 5 links you'll probably find an article from:
theunpopulartraveller. It explains the settings, and they need to be accessed by pressing and holding the app icon ^ app info.
Don't give up, try and you'll get the sounds from needed apps back. And ye, actually now I find the way Xiaomi did it much more convenient: I just turned on notifications for 2 apps, and all the rest are silent, while previously I had to turn off all the rest of the apps (much more than 2, definitely) not to get disturbed by all the bull****.
