[Q] Stock recovery methods

Hello, I have a problem with my transformer. I had installed CWM and Asus Revolution HD ROM. It worked fine, but today I wanted to return to stock configuration.
For that I followed theunlockr method to unroot and remove CWM. It worked, although it is no the original Asus recovery image my tablet had, and the Android that was loaded is 3.0.1 ROM 8.2.3.13.
This rom works fine but I can't get any OTA updates and if I try to update from microSD is fails - System update failed (12)
I can't even root to adb push the updated blob. I have tried all the methods I know (nachoroot, gingerbreakBB) nvflash doesn't work - USB write failed.
Any ideas how to get to latest Asus firmware? Please help. than you.

New owner

I just picked up a used TF101 and have been reading the threads learning more about my new ( used ) toy.
The tablet just recently updated itself to ICS 4.0.3 with Kernel 2.6.39.4 & 9..2.1.27 and now I would like to root the device and look at the possibility of loading new roms etc.
I have read the forum until my eyes hurt. Is there someone that can point me at the correct thread to root my device safely?
Thanks

To get root & custom recovery, the following methods are reported to be working with the latest Asus ROM:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1689193

I have personally used the first method about a month ago, no problem with my tf101 and the latest ROM (9.2.1.27)

I've can also vouch for the first method on TF101G with latest ICS ( [TOOL]PERI-0.4 One click root+recovery/fix-bootloops+soft-bricks ALL Devices V0.4). Just install it on the PC, run the .BAT file and follow the instructions to root and install Custom Recovery on the Transformer.
The only issue I've had is that its custom Recovery won't seem flash the ASUS stock ROM for some reason. So what I do now is use the above tool to get root and Custom Recovery, then use that to flash ClockWorkMod Recovery v6.0.1.4 NoTouch Hybrid from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1855686 - click the Download link and get the cwm-6.0.1.4-notouch-hybrid.zip file (apparently the Touch version is currently broken).
From CWM recovery you should be able to flash any custom ROM and kernel etc., and also return to stock by flashing the ASUS stock ROM from their download site (make sure you select the right one for your model and unzip it first - for some reason they put the zip ROM inside another zip).
If you do return to stock, don't forget you'll also lose root and custom recovery so you'll need to start over.
Good luck!

[Q] Just to be sure

Hello all,
I consider to install a custum roms on my TF700T, running Android 4.2.1, Build number JOP40D.ww_epad-10.6.1.14.10-2013081
I already know that I have to take the following steps:
1. Unlock by using the ASUS unlock tool
2. Root
3. Install TWRP recovery
4. Select a Custom ROM
After a lot of googling and searching on this forum I am still not sure how to root the tablet with this build number. Can someone help me out? Any other tips are welcome as well of course!
Thanks in advance!

You currently can't root 10.6.1.14.10 without a custom recovery. But you can install TWRP via fastboot on an unlocked unrooted tablet, then simply install a rooted custom ROM from TWRP.

[Solved][Q] Get back to stock 4.2.1

Hello there,
I have a tf300t that was on stock with unlocked bootloader and with twrp 2.5.0.0.
After being fed up by the continuous lags of my tablet, I decided to perform a factory reset and so I did.
Big mistake... The tablet got stuck in boot loop and I had no choice but to flash with the latest 4.3.1 stable cyanogenmod rom (10.2.1-tf300t).
This step went well and, very proud of myself for saving my tablet, I have made another mistake... I wiped everything.
Now:
I have no recovery on my tablet.
I have a tablet that crashes far too often.
I'm pissed with myself.
I would like to restore my tf300t to the latest stock ROM.
As you have understood I am a newbie.
I don't know which stock ROM I have to download.
My build number is: cm_tf300t-userdebug 4.3.1 JLS36l 80ef19409a test-keys (WTF!!!)
My kernel version is: 3.1.10-g081 d5ba [email protected] # 1
Please help me find out which stock ROM I have to download.!:crying:

When you start up the tablet and press vol down, it shows which bootloader you have currently.
In most cases, you should flash the latest bootloader available on the Index in the Dev Section.
Tanks for your help. When it boots while pressing the vol down, it says exactly this message:
key driver not found .. Booting OS
Android cardhu-user bootloader <1.00 e> released by "ww_epad-10.6.1.27.5-20130902" A03
Starting fastboot USB download protocol.
I have downloaded from the Asus website the ww version of the firmware.
Do I just need to flash the tablet with the .zip or should I do something before?
Up.
Thanks.

I finally found the solution for my TF300t.
I wiped everything using TWRP and then installed the stock rom. using the zip file found on the Asus support website.

Please Help [Q] Asus TF300T TWRP and rom flashing

I have a Asus TF300T that I had BakedBeans on, until I tried to flash to KatKiss. I tried this on TWRP 2.6.0.0 (current version of TWRP installed on my tablet) I saw that it was unable to flash, so I researched and I was told I need the newest version of TWRP to install the KatKiss rom.
Since I have no OS on the tablet (wiped when I tried to install KatKiss), and when I plug my tablet to my pc I get "unrecognized usb device", I am limited to using the external card to do any modifications to the tablet.
I went and got the newest version of TWRP and tried to install it through the TWRP manager, but it says "select zip to install" and the file is a .blob (I don't know how to update TWRP through the main menu I guess)
I have no idea what I should do. I would like a new rom for my tablet, but I will be ok with reverting back to an older rom if that is not possible.
using bootloader version 10.4.2.20-20121228 please help
I managed to find an old version of BakedBeans and installed it, but I can't figure out a way to update do the newest version of TWRP without using the PC USB method, help please.
