Mission Accomplished!
Thanks to all in this thread.
Hi,
I am a idiot...
I have search all over this site and can not find a solution.
I tried rooting my Samsung Galaxy s2 Skyrocket
I used this link... http://galaxys2root.com/galaxy-s2-root/how-to-root-att-galaxy-s2-sgh-i777/#comment-496
After Oden Failed I was stuck in Download Mode.
After a bit it went to " Firmware Upgrade Encountered an issue. Please Select Recovery mode in Kies & try again."
Kies nor Oden recognize the phone anymore...
I came to realize I have a SGH-I727 ERRRR
Anyways I am stuck at this
"ODEN MODE
Product name: SGH-I727
Custom Binary Download: NO
Current Binary: Samsung Official
Firmware Upgrade Encountered an issue. Please Select Recovery mode in Kies & try again."
Is there anyway to get back to factory or root from here a proper way?
Congrats as you are the first victim.
Just wanted to say Congrats you are the first victim of the i777/i727 confusion.
My suggestion is to follow exactly what it tells you to do.
Download Kies 2.0
And hopefully you can recover
OR
Maybe you can just power off and power on the device and see if it will boot maybe Odin never got a chance to write anything.
Thanks
Well
I managed to Find different Kernal to use on Oden
Though its the Telus Kernal
I Need to get the I727 Factory Kernal....
so thats my issue Now ...
I can post a drop box link to the stock boot.img if you need it
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I727 using XDA App
YAY
That would seriously be awesome if you could
Its in a .TAR file correct?
and id use Oden 1.85 to use it?

I unfortunately could use that link as well, however not for quite the same reason.
Sorry but will just be the actual boot.img
Not exactly sure how to make a ODIN tar but can attempt that real quick as well and post on here?

Very sorry for the failure man. I have my skyrocket now so will be able to figure out what went wrong shortly.
Did you right-click Odin and run as administrator? Could be the culprit. Also I have double checked over the files, pulled kernel from my phone and compared to kernel used in my Odin and they are identical.... Reran the steps to create the Odin tar and file size matches the one already created ???? Wtf!!
Now i'm wondering if there is a specific version of Odin to be used with our phones because besides that i'm stumped at the moment. Any input?

damn tough luck... but i guess you should have read more clearly that the post was for the I777 lol...hope you can get ur phone up and working...i wonder if theres a way you could flash the kernel via ADB, i know on MOTO you can access ADB before booting Android..Not sure if Samsung has a mode like that.

You have to use the t-mobile sgs2 root method. There is a windows batch file that entire process so easy that I caveman could do it

I personally rooted my SR long before the forum was established... I was probably the first one that did it, and the first to post my results in the I777 sections.
But unlike most people.. I DO READ and study all the possible facts...
I mean it sucks that he is stuck... but hey.. **** happens
As for helping we can only do so much as of what we have. Without a source code or/and a full original dump of the ROM.. it's really hard to "fix" a problem.

Hi everybody.....
I need the [.Pit] file for my Samsung Galaxy Tab 7 plus (GT-P6200-3G+WiFi),
to do Re-Partition using Odin software.
Why?
......Because i bought my device from China and they have the Bootloader locked, and no matter what (other region) firmware i tried to flash, it just failed.
On Chinese devices, i can't use the usual Android Market and the internet browser is restricted to use china Baidu search engine, with other more restrictions that drive me crazy.
Baseband Version: P6200ZCKL2
Help is appreciated....
Thanks
Are you sure? My 7+ came from China and I've had none of those problems, flashed over to the Indonesian firmware now.
May be your's baseband is HongKONG not the mainland China.
Hi Developers....
I found this (P6200-Flash guide.pdf Tutorial), explaining how to do flashing, and the most important thing is that.....It points to the use of a certain Pit file
named [p2_20110905.pit].
http: //www .multiupload .com/VUR7LLHSVW (delete blank spaces inbetween)
Now....does anyone know how or where i can find it???

thanx for your respond, it looks like that the pit file is working, but in my case, i have to flash the original firmware.......
and when i try to flash other region firmware, it just fails as you can see in the report above........
the chinese firmware bootloader is locked.......i tried to clean the Cache and Davlik files (but not the factory setting) prior to flashing and again operation failed.
My last chance is to include factory setting cleaning prior to flashing, but i am afraid that may ruin the whole device.
Anyway, from within Android system files, i managed to get rid of all system programs that i don't want, and install all other programs that was missed, including the android Market..... and everything is alright.

AH.... you may need the PIT file which I do not have for this phone.... Look around and I will too, just not today because its kinda late here BUT will do tomorrow.
IT's also possible that the lollipop you were on is not able to go backwards from what I hear, some 5.0.1 FW cannot go back. I know this one can

I have tried looking for the PIT file but have been unsuccessful. I would extract it from my phone but I need root and since I moved to LP 5.0.1 I cannot install the TEMP ROOT to do it. This is all assuming that you are on a version that you can go backwards from.

I have a galaxy S6 Edge which you could probably tell from the model number and I recently rooted it. After realizing that my phone was very very sluggish after the root, I decided to unroot it. I have the proper stock firmware for my device downloaded on my computer (Lollipop 5.1.1) but when I tried to flash it manually through Odin I received this error:
<OSM> Enter CS for MD5..
<OSM> Check MD5.. Do not unplug the cable..
<OSM> Please wait..
<OSM> G925PVPU2BOH1_G925PSPT2BOH1_G925PVPU2BOH1_HOME.tar .md5 is valid.
<OSM> Checking MD5 finished Sucessfully..
<OSM> Leave CS..

I was surprised to find that this flash wasn't successful because I've flashed this firmware on the phone multiple times with ease. After looking around on google for quite some time, I haven't yet found a solution witch is the reason why I am writing this post. I am not sure how to fix this error and would really appreciate some help. Thanks
This is the file I downloaded from SamMobile's website:

This is a screenshot of the Odin after running the flash:

Thanks for the suggestion, but I just want to avoid restoring my phone at all costs.
You could pull the stock kernel from the OH1 tar and flash that.

And how would one go about doing that? I'm pretty much a newbie sorry >.<
EDIT: No need to explain. Just looked it up and figured out how to do it. Will report back when I get results.

Just extracted the recovery img and archived into a tar file and flashed that. Not really sure what it did, but I tried to flash the 5.1.1 update again and still no hope.

Well if you started out on OI1 you may have hard bricked your phone because you can't roll back from that version and the OI1 Odin firmware isn't available yet
But I was able to flash the root and flash the 5.1.1 update multiple times before this.

Not understanding you. We're talking firmware here. There's a lot of firmware versions for 5.1.1 if you were on OI1 you can't go back
Ok, regardless of that, is there any way to unroot my phone and go back to stock firmware?
EDIT: I did a factory reset in hopes that the problem would go away. After the reset I was still rooted so I tried to flash the 5.1.1 firmware and it still wouldn't work >.<

Read the threads and do your homework because obviously you're not understanding. It depends what firmware you were on. You keep saying 5.1.1, but there are 3 firmware versions for 5.1.1. Until you figure out which one you were on I can't help you. That's critical information. If you were on on OI1 and tried to downgrade to one of the other 2 then you're pretty much screwed. I suggest you read up on the difference between android versions and firmware versions. I can't help you if you don't provide me with the needed information. 5.1.1 isn't telling me anything. The last 3 firmware versions were 5.1.1. Good luck

I hope you realize that the reason I am posting on these forums in the first place is probably because I don't know what I am doing. I was hoping some kind soul would teach me the basics of this whole system, but I guess I am mistaken. Instead of calling me out on what don't know maybe you could help me and teach me how to retrieve the information you are asking for instead of insulting my intelligence.

Uhhhh I've been trying to do that the entire time. I've asked you since you first posted this about the firmware version and instead of you asking where do I find this, you've been going all around the question. If you want help you're going to have to answer the questions that we need to troubleshoot, how to fix the problem

Thanks anyways for your "help", but I guess I'm going to have to figure this out on my own and do some "homework"
I'm now stuck in a bootloop after trying to manualy unroot my device by deleting /system/xbin/su and /system/apps/superuser
He howdy ho,
Like it says in the title, I rooted my phone (using galaxys7root.com tutorial) a while back with the intent to get access to Hosts so I could keep myself off reddit at least on mobile. Everything was working fine for a couple weeks, but then this morning a lot of my apps kept crashing (not even while they were being used, just in the background. Repeat offenders were google maps, facebook and google play services). Thinking all I needed was a reboot, I restarted my phone and now its stuck in a boot loop. No big deal, I could just reflash to stock with Odin and be done with it.
Downloaded Odin 3.12.3 and grabbed the T-Mobile stock firmware from galaxys7root.com and started the process in Odin. Except it keeps failing and I don't know why. Here's what odin is saying:
<ID:0/005> Odin engine v(ID:3.1203)..
<ID:0/005> File analysis..
<ID:0/005> SetupConnection..
<ID:0/005> Initialzation..

Information on phone screen reads:
SW REV CHECK FAIL : [aboot]Fused 3 > Binary 2
[1]eMMC write fail: aboot
EDIT: Tried re-doing it after a fail in a different USB port, gets past initialization, but now its hung up on "SET PARTITON"
Odin log now looks like this:
<ID:0/008> Removed!!

Hi, it's been a while since I have done rooting on galaxy's. But, I'm still using odin. I'm not sure about that galaxys7root.com or how reliable is, but I suggest you visit sammobile.com and get the firmware that's right for your phone, check for phone model or carrier and also the firmware version that matches the one that was on your phone when rooted. Get Odin from them too and follow the instructions on how to flash at the bottom on the download page.

Thanks, I didn't know about Sammobile, I'm downloading everything from there right now, will update when I have tried it out (I'm using a free account so the download speed is abhorrent). Thanks for the reply!
Also what version of Odin are you using? Theres a special version that i was told to be used for the galaxy s7 - Odin3 v3.12 by PrinceComsy. Make sure its the PrinceComsy version.
Let us know if you need any more additional help!
It's working now, I used Odin 3.11 I got from SamMobile. No longer bricked and now its got stock firmware on it. Awesome, thanks guys!
Hey I badly need to know which firmware you used? SamMobile only has it for the sm-935f? I need it for the sm-930t, the stock firmware. I'm bricked too.

Use the tools provided there. Follow the instructions. You should be able to restore back to stock. Regarding root, my advice is not to try it.

How can I give you 1000 thanks. I searched the better part of the weekend and Friday looking for this correct compilation of firmware. Dude, in all sincerity, you just saved me from having to claim insurance and get a different one, which isn't cheap. Took 2 hours to download but still, you are the man in my book today my friend. Thank you.
