Omar,

I have the same problem with Samsung S 8+ SM G955u

T-Mobile variant here, no issues.

Same exact problem.
I got SM-G955U and I have same exact problem.. driving me nuts

Perhaps pay for a plan that includes Mobile Hotspot/Tethering...
Cheers
TRJB

same problem with me .. there are no options in connections menu .... i want to use hotspot and tethering ... but there is no option in g955u ... how can it be fixed ?? should i installed unbranded offical samsung oreo firmware ? would it fix it ?

Hidden menu hotspot
The same problem for me. If anyone finds a solution, please share it.
In my case I am using PDANet + as a workarround. The best would be use the native option of Hotspot.

1) Download Activity Launcher from play store
2) then from there recent Activities, select All activities
3) Found "Mobile hotspot" there.
4) Long press it and create shortcut.
5) open shortcut you will be able to start Mobile Hotspot.

[HOW TO] Fox-Fi on 4.4.2

For those of you wanting to exploit your Data plan for WiFi, Tether, Bluetooth, this app is Confirmed working for the S5 with 4.4.2 with NO ROOT NEEDED.
1. Download the app from the Play Store for FREE.
2. Buy the Key for it ($7.95).
3. Turn on the app, make sure the Key is recognized.
4. Turn on the WiFi.
5. ONE TIME PASSWORD set-up, (unless you delete permissions after each use for easy unlock screen).
6. Then within 30 seconds, you must click over to the Integrated WiFi/Tether area of 'Other networks' and click the WiFi there to turn it on.
App, Key, Recognize, WiFi, 1 time PW, 30 sec integrated WiFi enable. Done.
If you want to change the name and security of the WiFi Hot-spot you will be creating, do so before you activate, otherwise you must restart program and process.
Quick demo and proof that it does work on the Galaxy S5
Just want to warn/give a heads up to anyone who downloads to use this, you give yourself up permission to 3rd parties to your email, internet, apps, and other things on your phone. You actually get a pop up telling you that..not really worth that risk in my book for something I only used once in a blue moon on my S4

@Dennisg34, have you seen the number of Installed 3rd party Certs that are on this phone from the Box?
He's right, if you are permission paranoid, be wary. If you want to have WiFi/Tether on your phone without Root (which I have been using this app for years with no issue) then you are safe to buy/use this app...

Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge Sprint SM-G925P Mobile hotspot limited only for one device

Hi,
I have been investigating about the features of this phone. I bought it in US and now I have it in Mexico. I use the Mobile Hotspot to work in a table and in another cellphone, but I found that the SM-G925P only connects with one device at the same time. When I disconnect the first device then the second device connects. I would like to make the connection at least to two devices. I used to use a Moto X and it worked fine...
What I have done:
-I rooted the device
-modify the AP settings in AP type to default,dun
-I use the idoneapps and set the field of Force wifi_ap max users in 10
Not sure what else to do. Is there any idea that you can give me?
Thank you!!!

Seems the code only works on some specific models, US carriers phones are heavily customized and leads to disabling other default service codes of samsung. I hope that other carrier works with the code. :good:
Is this going to make our internet speed ?

Same here, defaults to Cat9 with Cat10 being max, Hungarian Vodafone 950F

Its sucks! why samsung need to do this? I understand some countries doesn't support such advance technologies such LTE CAT16 / 256QAM / 4x4mimo, they should enable those technologies on the phone out of the box.. this will hurt people who bought the device for such spec and travel abroad, making their device handicapped especially using it on Australia(Telstra) or US(TMobile)
And also I doubt, that the device is CAT16 capable because of the given figures above, the phone is up to CAT10 only.. not only with the CAT issues, take note device is up to 3CA only, instead of support of up to 5CA

Why did you end the thread? I'm very interested in exploring what my phone has to offer since it's from Singapore
Hello everyone.
I want to know how to check that Galaxy S8 supports 4x4 in LTE?

It’s been disabled, the service mode I’m talking about, unless you’re on Android 7.0 "Nougat” then you can get into service mode ? Otherwise you can thank Samsung for locking us out.
i think that's why he has deleted his original post.
UPDATE!!
Unless your rooted ? Then you can access the menu, but you will need to search on XDA and Google on how to get into service mode. if you got root you can use this app from google play store to access the service mode.

Samsung Galaxy S7 - SM-G930W8 - No WiFi

Hi everyone!
My son gave me his old Samsung Galaxy S7 - SM-G930W8. It has a problem that the WiFi isn't working. I've managed to root and install TWRP on it and then I tried some different ROM's with the same results, still no WiFi.
Is this a hardware problem? If so, is there a way to fix it? Or is this phone a nice MP3 player now?
Thanks!

Is the wifi toggle button present in the pull down menu?
When turned on do you then go into settings, choose the WiFi connection you want to connect to and enter password?
Your device has a mac address is this present in the settings menu or is it blank?
Settings >about phone>status>WiFi mac address
Hi @cooltt
On the pull down menu, the WiFi is shown and it appears to be active:

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
However, when I go into the WiFi menu in Settings, there are no access points listed:
I seem to have the same problem with the Bluetooth on the device:
Under "About Device" I do have MAC addresses for both the WiFi and Bluetooth:
However, the phone can't see my Anker speaker that is right next to it.

But I don't meet the requirements because I am in Haïti not USA.
It is super straight forward. Just have it paid off, and go through the steps outlined by oneplus on their website. The app was removed from the drawer, it is now in Mobile Network settings.
