The last few nights, I've noticed that my phone is on vibrate before I go to sleep(or when I wake up) and I don't recall putting it in that mode. Is there some sort of auto change to vibrate setting in the phone that I may have set at one point and forgotten about? Or am I really just going crazy and I set it to vibrate and somehow keep forgetting?

Do you have Do Not Disturb set to turn on on a schedule?
That's what I checked first but no.
Samsung use to have a location based app called My Places that would let you set profiles based on location, seems to be missing in Nougat. I wonder if you have something similar installed.

Yeah, I've been fiddiling with HTC Home (not much to fiddle with) and I came across "Automatic". What does it do for your ringer?
Don´t have the manual at hand, but if I remember correctly it checks your calender and if you have appointments marked as "busy" it automatically switches to silent mode during that period (don´t know about the vibration settings...)
Oooo! Just what I wanted! So it goes directly to silent? Not vibrate? Be sweet if there's a registry change to make it vibrate instead.
It switches to vibrate. In my opinion, a register change to make it go to silent instead would be very helpful.
You know I experimented with Automatic today. It didn't switch to vibrate or silent when my class (scheduled as Busy) started. In actuality, my phone went off during a quiz...
Something wrong?
Alright check this out. I found a set of reg keys for "Automatic" profile under HKLM>Software>HTC>HTCHome>PROFILE>AUTO. There are three keys here called "Disp", "Path", and "Type"; first two being strings, the last being a DWORD (mine set as 0). Since my phone just stays in vibrate when Automatic is switched on, without changing regardless of appointment, shouldn't a change be done here?
i remember the thing with me is that when ever i whiched it to auto it would never switch back... the sound settings would still be vib and it wouldnt go back to normal
On my Touch it switches to vibrate when there is an appointment in my calendar. It works fine in that respect but it doesn't care about the status of the appointment so it will go to vibrate also when I'm available. When I have a birthday for example, which is an all-day event, my phone will not ring all day even though it should.
Documentation
The HTC TyTn II manual says nothing about 'Automatic profile'. Anyone have ANY information on this feature and how it's supposed to behave? Could save us from buying third-party software to do the same thing.
Hi all.
I hope I didn't miss something while searhing, but here goes.
I'm looking for a time based profile manager, I know of G-Profile and it's not exactly what I'm looking for. While it does change profile by time, it needs to be setup differently for each need.
I need to be able to set my profiles for an X-amount of time say 3hrs 20 mins and then switch back to "normal" again, alternatevly, being able to swiftly set "mute" or "silent" until specified time, say 15:00 hours and then going back to "normal"
The reason being, if I go into a meeting, I know approx how long it will be, but I always forget returning from "silent" resulting in missed calles. Also, I want it to be on silent when I go to bed but need it to see what SMS came through the night and then by morning, automatically set it to "normal" again.
This is made difficult by the fact that I work shifts and need the phone to be silent at different times every day, making it hard to use G-Profile. (unless I totally overseen a setting in it)
I was wondering if any of you guys know of a program/application that easily can do what I need.
I think you mean G-profile.
And for putting it to silent/vibrate during meetings, I just rely on TF3D's sound settings where it can be silent/vibrate during appointments. I sync my calendar with Google and my outlook so anytime I am busy, phone is in vibration mode.
Phone Alarm - is not free tho.

Yes, of course I meant G-Profile.. Sorry..
Yup, that would have done the trick, if I had the same shedule at all time. If it is to do its trick for me now, I would need to make an appointment of my sleep.. And that's taking it a bit far, I think...
But thanks for your reply.

Free is prefered. Thanks!
Any more suggestions out there?
I just moved to the Maxx from a GNex that I've been using Carbon Rom (and Liquid before that). These Roms had settings built in that allowed me to mute sounds other than the phone on a schedule. Is this somewhere in the settings I haven't found or do we need to use something like Silent Hours from the Play store?
If we need to use a 3rd party solution, is there something better than Silent Hours?

Check out "Assist," which comes pre-installed in the app drawer. It has a sleep mode that mutes everything, but there are options to allow calls from favorites and/or anybody who calls twice within five minutes.

Totally agree on checking out Moto Assist already on your phone but I am still using Tasker for this and it is working great as always!
Can you point me in the right direction to set up Tasker without learning some wild mix of Cobol and Fortran ?
The issue I have with Assist is that callers need to call twice or be marked as a favorite. I'd like ALL calls to come through but leave everything else silent at night.

Llama can do that, and it's a lot easier to set up than Tasker. After yo install it, change the Quiet profile to have a normal volume ringtone and a zero volume notification tone (Llama will try to protest that post-ICS that these volumes are linked, but you can tell it to set the volumes normally, as we all know they are discrete on the Maxx), and then go to the Events tab and adjust the timing of the Quiet at night event to how you want it to be (for timing; you an also delete the home condition if you like.)

Here is my tasker profiles and task that I've been tweaking for quite a few years now. It turns on if you are charging by either AC outlet or wireless and turns off if any call comes in, cancel it via the notification or take if off charging. It auto turns back on if still charging and the call has ended.
I find this method better as opposed to time based silent mode, as the weekend my sleep pattern is a little bit later compared to the work week. Enjoy! :victory:

Thanks for sharing! I've just loaded your profiles and task into Tasker... without Cobol nor Fortran!
I'll try this over the next few days and see how this works.

Not a problem! Let me know what you think or if you have any questions about them.
Hi All,
Since the update added automatic sleep tracking I have been wearing my watch to bed but it seems the update has changed the dnd mode as well. Before I was pretty sure setting my phone to dnd also set the watch to dnd as well but now I have to manually set it on the watch. Anyone found a way to set both at the same time (I use tasker to set my phone to dnd mode, would be great if they went together or tasker could change this setting on the watch also)
Hi,
I also use tasker to control dnd mode, but it has never triggered this on my watch, before or after the update. If you find a way to do that automatically let me know please, but I think it is not possible.
old topic, but right now you can make it running by schedule. just go into settings->device->Do Not Disturb -> schedule and set days/hours to turn it on/off

Hey all! I just got the S3 Frontier a few days ago and I love it! Just one complaint:
The other night I had my watch on while I was sleeping. As always, I put my phone on complete silence. However, while I was sleeping, I was woken up a few times by my watch vibrating.
It's kinda silly that I would have to silence the watch, too (in my opinion). Is there any way to "link" the two? I also want my watch to vibrate even when completely off by means of my cell phone's alarm time, even if I have the watch and phone on silent. Is there a way to "link" the two? My phone is a rooted Google Pixel if it matters.
Thanks in advance!

I kind of agree it would be nice if I'm in some setting (doc's office, etc) where I want to silence my phone I have to remember to also put the watch into do-not-disturb.
This is what's missing, and really needed. But there's no way to do it.

Wow, that's crazy! What an oversight! Thanks for the reply though!
Hate revive an old thread, but this does my head in.
I've got a gear s3 classic, I think it makes absolutely no sense for it to no sync the notification volume etc..
Has anyone found a workaround?
#boosamsung
I agree. With Android Wear when You put watch into "do not disturb" phone also switches the same.
I've also noticed that there is no any watchface that shows battery level from phone and watch at the same time..
I like Tizen, but in some cases Android Wear was better. The second is more integrated with phone.
You can set the time for auto do not disturb on the watch. I have mine set from 10:30 until 6:30. The watch doesn't vibrate or notfy me.
Located on watch under Do Not Disturb: set schedule.
You can set different times for different days of the week.
Other way around, just use Tasker to add task like: if phone in silent state, disable bluetooth (to stop connection with gear s3) and exit task is reverse to turn on bluetooth in which reconnect gear s3 automatically
I to wish they would just add a feature to the Gear app for, "Silent Mode Syncing"!
I would think that it would be easy to add such a simple feature compared to all the Samsung Health stuff that they can sync between the Gear and the connected smartphone. But sheesh, guess it's never easy...

Now does this after update to 4.0?
I think in the latest update for the gear (4.0) it now does this by default! Last night after the update I put my phone on silent. The next morning I had a few missed calls that usually woke me up due to the watch vibration.
Can anyone confirm?
I couldn't find a detailed list of new features for the latest update to check.

How are you putting your phone on silent, Do Not Disturb or using the volume? I have Do Not Disturb set to automatically enable on my phone every night but I still get notifications on my watch. I haven't tried it by pressing the volume key and cycling through Ring, Vibrate and Silent though.
