Hi guys,
I picked up a Chinese Intel Bay Trail tablet.
It has root access (I can do adb root and do pretty much everything in the shell), but it fails to install SuperSU. It doesn't allow to install a custom recovery (boot loader locked) and sideloading a zip in recovery also doesn't work.
I guess I can put the SU binaries manually (since I have root access) and set the right permissions.
Any idea how to proceed?
Hey guys.
I've just bought Lenovo A5000. It's a new device. So i dont know how to root it. Are there any apps to handle this problem? i cant stand to not root my device. i cant make it easy to use.
What about "framaroot"? Can this app do it?

I'm not sure whether or not Framaroot is effective. But I am sure that a good way to root a device is to unlock your bootloader and use ODIN. There are various instructions on how to install it on different devices.
Just got mine too. Love this phone! I can get 24 hours of usage in one full charge! Unfortunately still no tutorials on rooting this device
yes ! still waiting for the root tools ...
This site says it's just done via app? Not sure how legit this is. http://www.how-to-root.club/2015/04/lenovo-a5000-7167.html

Good luck!
sucesfull root
Today managed to sucesfully root the phone so no more ads or camera shutter sounds.
You need to use kingroot apk (framaroot didn't worked). I know, it is chinese stuff filled with all sort of additional apps that are installed during rooting process but you have to bear with them for a few minutes.
I downloaded it from here: arykblog.info/2015/04/how-to-root-lenovo-a5000.___html (remove the ___ from link)
After installing the kingroot app and rooting the phone with it, I followed this tutorial
w0lfdroid.com/2015/05/How-to-Remove-Replace-KingUser-KingRoot-with-SuperSU.___html (remove the ___ from link)
you have to extract the Replace_Kingroot_With_SuperSU.zip into your "\sdcard" folder (when browsing phone in windows explorer, you are by default in \sdcard folder)
It will look like this \sdcard\mrw\root.sh
Use the mentioned console app on your android
First start root shell by calling "su"
Then you have to make system read-write, by calling "mount -o remount,rw /system"
Then enter that mrw folder "cd \sdcard\mrw" and run "sh root.sh"
After a few seconds it should start SuperUser app and it will prompt you to replace binaries, use the "normal" way.
After success, reboot the phone and SuperSU should be still working and no kingroot app present.
(reboot also restores mount status of system folder)
PS: make sure you do not have installed the SuperUser app before using this process
PSS: make sure you place the mrw folder is in correct directory and that you succeed in one run, or you have to repeat it again from installing kingroot
Important note: DO NOT INSTALL FIRMWARE UPDATE WITH ROOT. You will brick the phone, tested :crying:
If you brick the phone, you have to flash official ROM.
You will have to install latest SP Flash Tool and drivers for your phone bootloader (that unknown device which appears for a few seconds after connecting you turned off phone to PC)
androidxda.com/smart-phone-flash-tool
mediafire.com/download/g4dn7yh54savq90/Lenovo_A5000_usb_driver.rar
Then download from a russian site the official ROM (warning, it contains additional russian apps that you will have to remove)
Can't post the links, so google "A5000_S025_150121_ROW" and look for lenovo-forums.ru and bymobyle.by (1+GB files)
Then extract the ROM somewhere, open flash tool, click on scatter loading and find the "MT6582_Android_scatter.txt", open it and click Download.
Now connect your phone when turned off via USB and it should flash the ROM. Afterwards your phone should be able to start.
PS: It takes quite a while after the flash to start.
I hope you find this tutorial useful.
There is a very easy and simple way to root your lenovo a5000 By using king root app See here How
what is CH?
great tutorial, have you tried any customs roms?because the official sucks
i have a carrier-modified lenovo a5000 and i want to return it to stock. which files should i check on spflash tool to make it stock?

Does anyone know how tor root the 360 N5?
Does anyone know how to root for the 360 N5s? I found a way to root it but flashing the DevRom that they gave me (with root access) ****s up my camera (stops working). I flashed it back to stockRom and its fine again though. Just need to get TWRP onto my phone so I can install a custom ROM to clean up the bloatware!!! Thank you!
How to root 360 N5 ? i tried several rooting app but nothing works. and installing TWRP not working
So, it's been almost 2 weeks I've trying to root this device.
Running with Android Marshmallow 6.01 , Snapdragon 810
64bit ARMv8A
I have tried
- almost all dirtycow exploit, u name it
- all apk and PC root tools
The problem are :
There's no fastboot access, only adb
No enable OEM unlock
No download mode
There's only access to stock recovery that's can't do a things except factory data reset and system check.
Tried to temporary mount the system but failed
Tried to adb root but it's useless
Tried to pull boot.img , recovery and etc ,again no luck.
Yes there are open source code for the from the stock firmware. but it's in tar.gz and I cannot find the necessary files to root the device inside this SC.
Then I tried to cat kernelmode.rc
This is what I've got on attached file
Hope someone could analyze and tell me what exactly happened with this device.
Thank
All I can tell you that they maybe blocked access to fastboot or it requires special command. Someone need to modify fastboot.exe file so you can access it.
I'm trying to root my Moto g play and I was able to unlock the bootloader but I can't get past that any help would be awesome I'm trying to flash nethunter as well
AFAIK the phone is running Android 10, hence it comes by default with TOYBOX ( no root ) installed. All you have to do is to flash TOYBOX v0.8.5 what comes with SU ( read: root ).
How do I flash toybox?

If you have a Custom Recovery installed, then you
1. create a flashable TOYBOX-UPDATE.ZIP what contains all the necessary files incl. updater-script
2. flash this ZIP via the Custom Recovery
otherwise, if you can successfully establish an ADB connection, you
1. create a Windows CMD file that contains all the necessary commands
2. connect computer with phone
2. run the Windows CMD file
