Hello to all i have been trying to search for the 5.2 ota image file (wi_fi only version) that gets downloaded to our root/data/data/com.nvidia.ota folder; is there anyone that has a copy and can upload it please?
I deleted mine and I cannot re download it as there is no such option.

If that's the firmware you need, just download it and put in a zip file.
right click on the folder then add to archive. use the compression method store.
That should work but do a backup before hand just in case.
I tried to zip it and rename it to update.zip and install it via cwm recovery but the recovery said that it failed on signature.. Something.,,

The file is already a zip file, it's just in the wrong compression method...
using winrar, open the zip file, then tools, then convert archive.
A box should appear, change the archive format to zip, and compression method to store.
Hi, isaias19, I also have a prototype o3d. I can not use it after rom(v10d, v10e) upgrade. If possible, could you post your v08 rom backup file using cmw?? Thanks.
@ modernbruce
we have the same problem , i did not backup my stock rom thats why iam searching for the v08 firmware. =C
Hi ,
For your case update.zip will not solve your problem.
you need dump your system and replace by another one:
To see your partition :
adb shell cat /proc/partitions
After try use these command to put your new system :

Please help installing TWRP

Silly me, need a hand here please;
I got my new Note 5 rooted easily, and wanted to use Flashify to install TWRP. So I downloaded this;
TWRP v2.8.7.1 N920T/P: http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...62&postcount=3
But it saved as a .tar file, not an .img file ? And Flashify says it must be an .img file. Can I just rename the end to " .img " ? Right now the file is named " TWRP-2.8.7.1-Alpha_N920T.tar.md5 "
Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

You cannot simply rename it, you have to extract the IMG file using winrar or winzip
then you can use flashify to flash it if you don't want to odin flash the tar file.
The TAR file only contains one file, it's name is recovery.img
Good luck,
Have a great weekend!
Thanks. I installed TWRP through ODIN, was super easy and fast. I just installed a fresh ROM, ThrashROM Lite
Man, I haven't owned my new Note 5, but a few hours, and already rooted with a custom ROM.

[Completed] Need an update to my RK3066 that isn't in RAR type but rather ZIP.

i need an update to my RK3066 to 4.4.4 kitkat that isn't in RAR type but rather zip. I've downloaded a couple different ones from the Malaysk profile on XDA and then converted to zip only to have my device recognize it as a bad file. any options?
Hi !
What did you use to convert it ? The zip or rar are the same
You maybe want a zip file in order to flash it in recovery but you have downloaded a rar which isn`t recognized
Open the rar archive and use the files from inside of it , it may contain an image an you have to use that one
Good luck !

i did try and flash update w/ the rar but the tablet didn't recognize a rar ext. So i converted to a zip and the tablet stopped because it stated it was a bad file. I thought something may have messed up during the conversion and did it again but same result. I've looked everywhere for updates to 4.4.4 for this tablet but no luck. the ones that i did try and flash would open update and then abort the install.
As I said, I understand what you have tried, now please listen to me, the rar file is not a flashable zip and you cannot just convert it to zip in order to flash it, the flashable zip file results from building the ROM not converting rar to zip
Rar and zip are indeed both archives but the zip you need is a flashable zip as I mentioned above
Open that rar and tell me what you have inside
As for roms, if here on xda aren't available then contact the manufacturer's website or go deeper into Google, as far as I can see there is no ROM for your device here on xda

I really appreciate this method , unfortunately I can't root my phone, so I have to download firmware and then extract boot.img from it right?
The firmware I downloaded
https://www.mediafire.com/file/edza...SW_V8.1.3_HW_V1.0.0_021116_Volte_SPD.zip/file
I tried doing this but didn't any images instead I get 3 files which I don't know too much about, is the problem is that I have to extract it using pc ? because I extracted the firmware on my phone with this app
RAR - Apps on Google Play
Create RAR and ZIP, unpack RAR, ZIP, TAR, GZ, BZ2, XZ, 7z, ISO, ARJ archives.
play.google.com
Is this app was the problem with extracting ? Or the firmware was faulty ?
JOOC downloaded the ZIP you linked to, too, and unpacked it.
Noticed that the firmware is is stored in directory Firmware, it's housed in archive zsl859p_mmx.pac.
You've to convert the .PAC file to a .ZIP file, e.g. with ezyZip tool, to access its content.
I really thank you for your effort, I will let you know the results after doing this.

I tried to convert the .pac file to .zip from this tool but it takes too much time , I mean that convert to zip button never loads for hours so I thought to view that .pac file first to just to get to know what's inside it and when I viewed it, I didn't find any usefull files which contain boot.img.
The app I used to view what's inside the .pac file https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=ru.zdevs.zarchiver
