Trio Stealth-G4 10.1 16GB storage issues - General Questions and Answers

I purchased a Trio Stealth-G4 10.1 tablet with 16GB of memory in it. I am having issues with installing apps. It keeps telling me that there is not enough memory and won't download the app. So I decided that I would root the device so I could see everything on it. The root was very easy and successful. I installed a root browser, busybox and a root checker and I confirmed the root. I also installed Titanium Backup (root version). Then last night I installed Storage Space. I tapped on "All Partitions" . It appears to me that there are 11 partitions if I am reading it right. It starts with "nanda" and goes up to "nandk". Six of them are "Not Mounted". I thought this was very strange. So I started looking with the root browser looking for all of these partitions and from the root directory I clicked on "Storage" where I found listed "extsd", "sdcard0", "sdcard1", "sdcard2" and "usbhost1". I noticed that "sdcard0" and "sdcard1" have the exact same files in them. My question for this: Is this normal to have duplicate file folders and files? When I goto "Settings" and click on "Storage" I see "Internal Storage" listed twice. The first one says "Total Space" 788MB. and the second one says "Total Space" 11.49GB. Another question I have is: Can these partitions be removed/altered? Thanks in advance for your help in this matter.

Link2SD lost links
Hello,
Just this morning when I first used my phone I noticed that all the apps linked with Link2SD are no longer available. If I click on any of the shortcuts I get an "App isn't installed" message. Almost all of user apps are linked, so I've basically got nothing on my phone but Link2SD and Superuser.
If I open Link2SD it has no apps in the "linked" section, but if I click Storage Info Link2SD still sees my sdext2 partition.
I have no idea what's going on, since I've literally done nothing to my phone of any significance in months and it was working fine. I did upgrade to Link2SD plus about a week or so ago, but that seemed to go fine. Now I do not have access to ay Link2SD plus features because the plus app was linked and is now lost.
[EDIT: I've now tried to "relink application files" from the "menu -> more" location and I get the error: "link failed I/O error"]
[EDIT AGAIN: I've rebuilt my phone from backup that is three months old and have put everything in place but any updates to Link2SD and the Link2SD plus key that I purchased. I seem to be operational. If things are status quo for a few days I'll do another backup and upgrade Link2SD to see if that is the cause of the problem)
Any ideas?
thanks,
RK

May be other applications like titanium backup shows the apps, if that does, then you can back of all the apps, then format the sd-ext partition and re-install the link2sd and then restore the apps from titanium backup again.

[Q] Help can't use 2Go of my smartphone

Hello,
Phone: Samsung Galaxy trend light "Fresh" (GT-S7390)
Android: Jelly Bean 4.1.2
(sorry for bad english)
yesterday i've installed foldermount in order to transfer some games from internal SD to the SD card,
when i've launched the app, it said that "some files are corrupted press ok to fix" so i pressed ok, then it said "restart your in order to use foldermount properly" so i restarted my phone.
here when i tried to open the sdcard folder, it shown that there is no folder "empty".
i've tried every thing to access to these subfolders in sdcard0, but i failed.
so i've wiped all the system, data, cache...etc, to install a stock rom downloaded from samsung-updates.com, using odin 3.09
when it finished i've turned up my phone, it said that there is no space available, when i go to the storage settings i find that :
total space 4Go
system's memory 1.6Go
apps 105Mo
Audio 0.092Mo
Misc. 2.16Go
Available space 139Mo
but the problem is when i connect the phone with pc, i see (in windows 7 x64) that the phone has only 2.84Go
4Go minus 2.84Go equal 2.16Go
tadaaaaa
so there is an unused or used (i don't know) space in my phone that i can't access to it
please help
(sorry for bad english)

[Q] Link2SD symlinks broken after reformatting the 2nd partition

I recently ran into issues with my 2nd partition on my SD card not being able to be mounted by Link2SD. I went through a bunch of solutions before I finally discovered that it was showing up as "FAT32" in Minitool instead of "Ext2" as it had originally been formatted as.
I then went ahead and reformatted it as Ext2 and this 2nd partition was subsequently able to be mounted by Link2SD.
However, now I'm running into an issue where all of my apps are showing up as one big fat System Data block indicated here - http://i.imgur.com/ksukQGG.png. It had previously shown the individual app folders where it shows the big "System Data" block now.
I'm assuming that Link2SD created symlinks that are broken somehow? I would assume so at least. I can't fix it by running "Relink all application files" because it says "Found no files to link".
Other issues of note:
1) Can't install any apk files from the Play store or manually. On the play store it says "Error -110".
2) When I open up the Android app manager, all applications (both system and user installed) show up with a 0kb size.
3)***All applications that I've tested are still running normally on my phone, so they exist and are able to be used normally somehow.
Can anybody help me out? I'm unable to move apps/install apps/clean cache/etc. because of all this.

System data using way too much storage

When I bought this phone (LG Optimus L90 D410 Dual) 2 years ago, when I checked the storage, system was using only 3GB, which left me with 5GB (it has a total of 8GB). But now, when I check how much system storage is using, it is using 5GB, leaving me with only 3GB of storage. How can I make my system data as small as it was back when I bought it?

clear junk data using clean master app or use sd maid pro for better cleaning..... and if you want your storage like before as was your phone new.. you shall carry less apps as less you can... and move apps to sd card for more system storage.....
The thing is, I already use Clean Master (frequently), the apps I install they all use the 3GB of storage I have and I can't move apps to sd card cuz' I'm on 6.0.1 (Cyanogenmod 13)
EDIT: System data was using 5GB before I installed CM 13

Try debloating your current android installation by removing system apps that you would not use. This can be accomplished using applications such as <Mod snip of warez reference > or system app remover in Google Play.
All the bloatware I have with CM 13 is some apps that only use KB of storage and Gapps (Nano), which they all sums up 293.6MB

The problem is that the disk is partitioned in such a way that leaves little space for apps.
What you should do:
1. Shrink /system partition where it has enough memory to do all it's stuff, but doesn't take up too much space. You said 3GB worked fine in the past and it probably will now.
2. Allocate the unused space to the /data partition
Warning: If repartitioning goes wrong it will most likely result in a hard brick. Know what you're doing.
Warning 2: Many people say you should never repatition your phone. You will no longer be able to instal updates and the space you take away from the system may be critical storage used for device recovery or some kind of backup or emergency mode. Try app2sd or (if you're hardcore into moving stuff) link2sd.
1st: I thought of resizing the system partition, so I googled it and couldn't find anything, so how do I resize a partition on my phone?
2nd: If I make a backup of my entire phone through TWRP in case anything goes wrong, if I hard brick my device could I just restore the backup?
3rd: I already tried App2SD and Link2SD, but when i partitioned my SD Card, it gave an error. (Gonna move the things inside the SD Card to my PC and try to partition it, so I can specify the error)
if you have upgraded Android it could be that the newer versions are larger than the old one due to more features?
It grew up to 5GB while I was still on stock 5.0.2

So it looks like your system is taking up less than a GB. Have you used Root Browser to check what is in that MNT folder? The reason I asked is because I checked my Nexus 6 and my LG G Pad 7.0 and I don't see the MNT folder anywhere. I am running Android 5.0.1 on both devices. Below are screenshots of both of my devices
There are 2 links to my home directory (on "asec, expand, media_rw, obb, sdcard, secure and user" folders), and a runtime folder, which has 3 folders(default, read and write), with the 3 of them being a link to the /storage folder

Does your phone support external SD card or is it all internal?
It supports external SD, but I "can't" move anything to it cuz I'm on 6.0.1, so I would have to transform it into Internal Storage and I could transform it into Mixed Storage, but the problem is that whenever my SD Card is Internal or Mixed Storage, it randomly pops out, forcing me to turn off my phone, re-insert my SD card and boot it again. I'm not with it cuz' currently I'm putting some pdf files to it on my PC

Have you tried using Apps2SD? Not sure if it works on 6.0 but it works on 5.0 and below.
I cannot get it to work cuz' when I partition my sd card and try to mount script, it showed up the error "file not found". When I checked the directory it specified, I realized that I didn't have the 179:66 file, the one I have is public:179_66. The temporary solution (cuz' the file got deleted when i rebooted my phone) was create a hard link from public:179_66 to 179:66, which resulted on the error "Invalid Argument" (Sorry if something's written worng, English is not my native language)

So back to the main issue, according to your X-Plore results, your system folder is only taking up 876mb. I would download a root file explorer such as Root Explorer and explore the various folders such as Data (2.99gb) and MNT (1.34gb) and see if you have some temp files you can get rid of. There are also apps such as CCleaner that will scan your device for temp/cache files you can safely remove to make more room.

[Completed] Need Help Regarding sdcard0 in Android

So its a long story guys.
I am Iman. And i have a samsung galaxy star pro ( i know its old, but i just need the solution, not advices to buy a new phone)
Yesterday i rooted my samsung galaxy star pro, with pc kingoroot pc software. And it was sucessfully rooted. Today I installed, link2sd, RoesoftRamExpander and FOLDERMOUNT in my phone.
Ok so when i was using folder mount when i opened the app it gave an error type of thing that a faculty error has came and it will have to do something to the sdcard (internal storage sd card) and it also said that i will create a backup as well.
I just clicked ok, and then using folder mount, i didnt found it effective because all the data was in KB's so i uninstalled folder mount. Now when i opened gallery it said that data is low than 100 mb delete some files. I rushed to settings>storage and saw the Phone memory was 4 Gb/4GB full. (my phone even doesnt supports apps2sd so i cant change default storage to ext sd card)
ok so now i opened es file explorer and the sd card was empty. I opened up /device and searched a file called sdcard.backup and it was there, which means that i have the backup. Now how can i restore it please??????????????? I really need to restore it. if theres an app to do it than tell me , i have also gone in foldermount settings but found nothing there. I can install apps, because the apps go to device/system>data
