When is Tizen 3.0 coming? - Samsung Gear S2

Hi, I'm using the Gear S2 Classic with Tizen 2.3.2.2
I've heard about Tizen 3.0. Does anybody know when that is coming? Or when the next update is coming?
Thanks!

Low chance for Gear S2...
This is more marketing tr.. to sell new devices...
See "new" Mobile SM-Z400F...
Same Hardware like SM-Z200F...
Expectation about Tizen 3 and or 4 are imho toooo high....
Because main problem not solved...
Less apps... many limitations/restrictions...
Best Regards

HTC ONE A9 compatible with the Gear S2?

Hi ive searched a heck of a lot for info about compatibilty of the samsung gear s2 smartwatch with the htc one A9 but nothing. I know there is a list of compatible phones but i know there is a lot of devices that are compatible with the gear s2 and are not on that list. So is the gear s2 compatible with the htc one A9 running marshmallow 6.0.1? And if so does all the functions work with it? Ive read that the gear s2 was having problems with marshmallow devices like the nexus 6p but that info is from last year? Any updates from that? Thanks in advance!
Why buying a Tizen watch when you can get an Android Wear one?
I got one i just like the gear s2!

Android Wear 2.0 on Gear Sport

Is there already a way to run Android Wear 2.0 instead of Tizen on my Gear Sport?
Then maybe you bought wrong device?
SM-R600 is since few days/weeks on market available... with funtastic Tizen 3.0.0.1...
With creme de la creme Development from Samsung R&D...
Tizen 3 only need 5 years to pop out in real market...
Btw... is obsolete as Tizen 5 ehm 4 is now "in" in Samsung R&D...
Gear S2 NO success yet:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/gear-s2/development/development-android-wear-gear-s2-t3295079
Gear S3 less progress:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/gear-s3/how-to/gear-s3-android-wear-port-wip-t3584588
But feel free to find your own way... for SM-R600.
Firmware for study is for instance here:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/gear-sport/help/sm-r600-firmware-odin-repair-study-t3688495
Similar problem like we know from SM-R760/SM-R770...
ROOT access and/or bypass of Security AGAINST Firmware modification...
And for sure...
Samsung increased Security in Tizen 3 crap...
My opinion...
Best Regards
Hey, thank you! No I didn't bought the wrong device. There's only no one with Android Wear 2.0 which is nearly as good as the Gear Sport and.
But I hate the App Store of Tizen and S-Health. So I asked me if it is possible to run Android Wear 2.0 on the Gear Sport. But it seems a bit tricky and long work.
Is there any other Option to run Apps from Play Store on Tizen with my Gear Sport?

No, you cannot run Android apps on a non-Android device, there are zero options unfortunately. But if you got Android on it, you would be missing out on the watch spinning dial, and with such a small screen on the sport, I couldn't imagine going touchscreen-only.

I think you may be mistaken.
I have a Samsung Gear 2 Neo, running Android Wear 1.5. The Neo originally came running on Tizen.
I have a Fossil Explorist with a stem that turns, scrolling through items on the display.
Whose to say there will not be a developer that creates a way to install Wear OS onto the Gear Sport, utilizing the spinning bezel to scroll?
This is what xda is all about.
Can something not be worked based on the previously provided OneUI by Samsung which was based on Android 9? Willing to test any advances on my gear sport.

Gear S2 major update just rolled out

Hi there, it looks like Samsung has not forgotten our beloved Gear S2 yet.
Just received a major update. Gear S2 is now at Tizen 2.3.2.7, software version R732XXU2FRC1.
I see some significant UI style changes and updates in S Health.

Could this update be the reason my watch no longer recognizes my book reader TTS with the music controls as it used to? I'm trying to find some way to get those controls back, as that was a major reason why I purchased the watch in the first place.

New:
New design (for Gear S3 with Tizen 3.0)
New version of system (Tizen 2.3.2.7)
Support better for iPhones (Samsung Health alone app for iPhone work now!)
lot of the features like s health and heart beat sensor and the app selector are the same as the s3 frontiers tizen 3 [emoji16][emoji16]

I have also got the update
SM-R732 in Netherlands.

I don't know if that's the classic, but if so, I have the same one as you and I got the update. I think everybody got it at the same time regardless of Gear S2 model.
It was supposed to quote the guy with the T-Mobile Gear S2 but I guess not...
My Gear S2 is the Verizon 3G version (R730V) and no update is coming through the Android Gear App yet. I'm using a Verizon MVNO, but I don't know if that would stop it from being accessed.
My current Tizen version is 2.3.2.2.
I think the Gear VR controller functionality could be cool.

I tried it yesterday. It can be useful, but less so if you already have a Gear VR Controller.
The S2 as VR controller is not a device which you can see in the virtual world and use as a laser pointer like the Gear VR Controller. It is more like a wrist replacement of the touchpad on the right side of the Gear VR. So you can use the watch face to swipe, scroll, and tap to select. Besides, you can allocate a function to bezel rotation, like setting the volume.
I keep getting "update failed" when attempting to install it. Anyone else?
Gets to 10% then reboots and says failed. I have tried a factory reset, but still the same.

tizen 4.0?

Asking out of curiosity, is s3 going get a new big update too? Is tizdn 4.0 even coming?
1.
Tizen 4 is obsolete...
Joke... :cyclops:
https://www.tizen.org/blogs/tsg/2018/tizen-5.0-public-m1-source-release
Tizen 5...
Now you can download more Watch Faces...
Nobody need cool Apps or Games or working Battery...
2.
No joke...
Tizen Mobile is dead since monthS... :crying:
I mean the Z series like SM-Z130H... Z2, Z3, Z4...
3.
The new incoming Wearable... SM-R800
Nobody outside R&D Samsung knows if Tizen 4.. or they use Android...
https://www.iotgadgets.com/2018/07/samsung-gear-s4-wear-os-measure-blood-pressure/
4.
No idea what you expect from Tizen 4 for Gear S3 series...
More Bugs?
More stupid Security... against fun...
5.
Seems Gear S2 series now soon also dead...
On 3rd July, Galaxy S9 and S9+ devices are available on Remote Test Lab service. We also support devices based on Android 8.0, so you can have access to Galaxy S8 and Galaxy Note8 devices updated to Android 8.0.
On the other hand, some Gear models below will no longer be supported.
- Gear 2 (SM-R380) and Gear 2 Neo (SM-R381)
- Gear S (SM-R750 / R750A / R750P)

IMHO chance is higher Tizen will die soon or sooner...
My own opinion.

Tizen is not leaving anytime soon. If and when the Gear S3 gets Tizen 4 is anybody's guess. The GearS4 or Galaxy Watch as it is going to be named, will not run on Wear Is Samsung cleared squashed that rumor a couple of months ago,do not believe everything that Evan Blass posts.
But "Evolution" of Tizen is only in 1 direction...
Down...
I can not remember Tizen 3 with SM-R600 is must have device...
No community avtivities...

Tizen 3 update on Gear S3 series...
"""""""""""""""""""""Battery improvements"""""""""""""""""""""

I'm pretty sure Samsung would have to fire all of their ****ty Gear Tizen engineers, overhaul Tizen wear, and also fire all of their support and hire people who aren't complete idiots, and Samsung start caring about their devices outside of the selling part before I will EVER buy another Samsung watch or phone. This S3 has been the WORST experience I've ever had with any electronics ever lol... And at $350... Their support can kick rocks too. Holy. Sheet. Yeah, I'm SUPER excited to see the new Android wear watches, cause I'm absolutely getting rid of this piece and getting one as soon as they come out.
Do yourselves a favor and get something other than Samsung when you can. Seriously. This BS with botched software updates that break/brick/whatever your watch, and the horrible support will never end. Once you hand over your money for anything that says Samsung, they don't care about it or you anymore. Run
someones an angry little elf. sorry i couldn't help myself. i agree that there are a few things lacking with this watch but i just picked up a refurb one and have been loving it so far.
I hope SM-R8xx will have more eMMC and RAM...
I hope it is not again same Chip...
Like Gear S3 and SM-R600 have... Exynos 7270
Not sure if Display Resolution will be increased...
I think not... will be on 360 x 360 Pixel
If really Tizen 4...
Hopefully not k.striert again...
So maybe dotNet enabled...
