I've been using my phone as usual, no problems. Left it charging over night and when I woke up today, my phone is stuck with orange navbar and status bar. I read somewhere it was due to battery saving mode in Lollipop, but I'm not in Lollipop and even after deactivating Power Saving Mode, it's still orange. It's really ugly. Has anyone gone through this?
Mods, please delete the thread. Woke up today to a perfectly functioning phone. I have no idea what happened but it's not happening anymore.

I don't know why but randomly my battery bar on the top bar of my phone changed to the time. I just want to know if anyone knows why this happened and how to get it back to show the battery bar again
I have the xv6800 wm6.1 stock rom
I was wondering if anyone has had this happen before? I was just on my Captivate checking a few apps out and then all of a sudden the screen froze for a few seconds and all the icons disappeared and only the wallpaper was left displayed. During that time I was tapping the screen and whatnot wondering what happened and it stayed frozen like this for maybe 30 seconds before it finally came back to life, but I then noticed that whatever icons were displayed on the left side of the status bar turned grey and also when I pull down the menu from the bar it is also grey in color now.
Also I've noticed that the settings menu seems greyer as well. Does anyone have a way to fix this and bring the color back as the grey looks pretty crappy. I'm using Darky's 9.2 rom right now.
Edit: now that I'm looking at it more, it seems like ALL of the menus in all my apps now are greyed. Where before it use to be in color now everything is a dull grey?!
Can anyone help please??
Master Reset. Something (maybe a messed up app?) screwed up the graphics of your phone so if just restarting (... you DID try turning it off and back on, right?) doesn't work then just back up and master reset.
I'm guessing that you have tried rebooting, but if not try that. If that doesn't work flash to stock using Odin and if it still isn't fixed then try to get a replacement.
hi, apologies if this has been posted before but it's really driving me nuts. 2 days ago everything was fine: i'm simply using c-locker as a lock screen. then yesterday i noticed there was another lock screen which can only be unlocked by swiping up. the status bar also changed. whereas before the bar went all the way up to the edge, now there's a black bar. the phone signal moved to the left side. to view notification icons (like an envelope for sms), the sound would come but the status bar would stay the same. by clicking on the status bar only then would the other icons appear and the status bar would go to the original (be all the way to the end of the screen). i'm still googling about but so far zilch.
solved!
my wife's phone is a nokia 1020 (we bought it as she loves the camera). it rang last night and she was in the gym. so i answered it and afterwards i noticed that the lockscreen and the status bar were very similar to the one i was having issues with in my edge. so i went over to my edge and uninstalled windows 10 launcher. i had previously installed it because my wife wanted to see if i could replicate her phone interface. so i installed but never used the launcher. when the edge did an ota update, windows 10 launcher was part of the other apps touched. whatever updates happened, the launcher forced it's lockscreen and status bar profiles on top of my existing setup. so, in case you plan to install the win10 launcher, maybe it's best to use it on it's own.
I just wanted to create this thread to see if other people would like this change or any developers would possibly be able to make it a reality.
Basically I love to get as much battery life as possible as we all know it sucks on the s6 so on every 5.1.1 rom I used I always had power save mode enabled however in 6.0.1 the status bar has changed to grey and personally I do not like this.

that is google's move actually. in nexus it changes to orange. maybe they want us to stop using battery saver because it won't save battery a lot and we lose lots of performance. So they change status bar to grey to remind us this is a power saving mode. don't use it always.
we need an optimized software + bigger battery for a better battery life. battery saver won't help a lot.
So I suggest you stop using it. 5% more battery life on power saver won't worth the performance drop

I've spent the last few days trying to understand why the bar was grey on my stock rooted DPAD ROM. I thought it was because I uninstalled the launcher and about 100 more apps. I reflashed the ROM twice using ODIN, and it was fine at first, then after installing, uninstalling apps and changing the settings it would turn grey. I didn't understand what made it change. This morning I saw that turning on Power Saving was the cause, and then I found your topic. Yes, it's horrible. It's even worse that there's no longer a switch for turning the Back and Recents button LEDs off.
However, if you're rooted and using Xposed, GravityBox will fix it, fortunately. I just tried it, and it gets rid of the grey overlay on the status bar, but there's a minor issue: if you're in an app with a white action bar, the icons and clock won't invert color, so they'll be white on white.

can u tell me how you done it i have gravitybox
So I was messing around with the color correction options in the Accessibility section. I set the mode to each of the options ending with Tritanomaly. Tritanomaly makes the bars an orange color. When I was done I turned off the Color correction mode and now my status and nav bars are stuck orange.
I've rebooted and Powered off the device and the bars are still broken
If I turn the mode back on it properly affects the colors and changes the colors of the bars, but every time I turn it off it goes back to this awful orange color.
Has anyone else run into this? Also does anyone have an idea on how to fix the status/nav bar color, I don't want to factory reset since I just spent a day setting up the phone
So I figured it out. Apparently that was just the battery saver mode, it so happened that setting the color correction mode caused my battery to drop and turn on battery saver resulting in the status bars turning a very bright color of orange.
Interesting.
