Micro SD Card - Nexus Player General

Anybody had any experience using a USB adapter to add storage to a NP using a microSD card? I just discovered a older USB 2.0 drive I had plugged in an OTG hub was giving me really slow performance, so I formatted and removed it and am looking for an option to add faster memory. Thanks for any help!

USB Stick Mounting

Anyone running Vegan build able to mount a USB stick to access files?
I've got a 50 in 1 USB reader that I am using.

Yep. 16, 32 and 64gb work fine for me.
Mounts memory stick without problem.
My suggestion would be to place the card into the reader first and then insert the stick into the USB port. If you do it the other way around i have had trouble.
Solved
Thanks for confirming. I did some experimenting. I originally had a micro SD card installed and tried rebooting and powering up from cold with and without the USB reader with no success.
I decided to remove the micro SD card and try the USB reader which worked great. Maybe there was something with the cached data preventing the USB reader from working. The red light on the USB reader was illuminated but it wouldn't mount it in /mnt/usbdisk.
After removing the micro SD card and inserting the USB reader everything works fine. I have them both inserted now and I can view all the files at ones from both locations
Thanks again for confirming.

ASUS USB Kit and ASUS SD Card Reader

I recently Purchased the Asus External USB and External Card Reader. Both work excellent. My Question when using either external adaptor with a hard drive or sd card all files are easily accessed with the file manager but No Files (Pictures,Music,Movies) will sync with any Apps Like it does with the Micro Sd Card. Am I missing something or is there a walk around for this?

[Q]Really slow usb transfer speed!

Hi,
today, I found out, that transfering files via usb is so slow on my device.
I've got sd card class 10 (and also tried out some other cards which had the same issue, so perhaps the problem is not there)
I also tried to transfer some files to internal usb storage and it didnt aproved any upturn. Neither did different cable.
Transfering 3,5 GB card takes about 16 minutes,
using mtp, rooted Galaxy Beam I8530.
I am vanilla user, but I think it should be faster.
Any types for improving transfering speed or is there any other problem which needs to be solved?
Thanks in advance
The issue is not your sd card, but the USB interface itself is very slow. There isn't much you can do other than using a different interface. If you have a card reader on your computer, you can take out the sd card and put it into there to see if it will read faster.

[Q] USB transfer speed low for everyone?

Hello,
I'm trying to copy files from pc to SD card via USB cable, but I have only 4MB/s transfer speed. My microSD card is a 32GB Kingston Class 10. If I put the microSD in the USB adapter I get like 10-11MB/s write speed, but over usb cable only 4.2MB/s max.
I've tried USB Mass Storage Enabler, same problem, it didn't helped in any way. Is there a fix?
I'm running stock Android 4.2.2, GT-I9105P.

Hello, someone knows how to read sd card type c 1024gb on a s22 ultra ?
Thanks for replies
You're going to need a USB-C microSD card reader.
Something like this:
C356 Type-C MicroSD Card Reader with USB 3.0 Super Speed Technology, Supports MicroSDXC, MicroSDHC, and MicroSD for Window, Mac OS X and Andriod (Midnight Grey) https://a.co/d/bicbNJT

If you have a notebook computer and an external usb drive you could transfer your data from the SD card to the usb drive. You would then need to just connect the usb drive to your phone and then transfer the data.
