Hi guys
I need some advice. I would love to root my phone and customize it the way I want but I still have more than a year of warranty.
I also have read about the limited support for Honor 8. Is it worth it? Should I do it or not?
Thanks
It's your decision. If you want to root then root it, no matter what. If you doubt about it and you don't need it then leave it stock.
IMHO I don't think H8 doesn't need root. It's amazing in stock.

We all have different opinions on this. But for me, the need to root is heaviest among the reasons not too.
If you want to MOD your honor 8 then, it's worth it
I would like to use apps that need root and modify my phone. I'm not interested in a different rom at the moment. So, do you guys recommend rooting my phone or not? I know that it is my choice but I want some advice.
I still have warranty if that matters a lot. Are there some pros and cons for rooting my honor 8? I mean especially for the honor 8. I hope you understand what I mean.
Thanks

If you mean being rooted with SuperSU, you gotta flash your stock boot.img first before flashing Magisk.

I had this phone the past 9 months.I do belive that root is not the best idea for this phone. There is not anything that lugs the phone the UI is perfect and the phone responds very good at every single task.So I think it is not necessary. If you want customization and personalisation you could try it but the past year I could not found a lot of roms or apps that could make me root the phone.
It is up to you...

Hi
My question is, might be silly.
Xperia customization famous DooMLoad was possible to introduction of rooted and CWM in the bootloader locked.
Is it possible in Moto G?
Thank you

Ah! Don't worry buddy
And is there any chance that it might be possible in the future?
Because this is the reason why I havent rooted yet...cause you can't lock it again...I mean to lock it without the information that it was already unlocked

Probably not, there is need of an exploit, but this last only for root, if you want also custom recovery you will must unlock bootloader. No chance to bring back bootloader value to initial state and never there will be.
ok thank you ...so I'll probably have to take the risk sooner or later
Hi guys,
I just bought a frd-al00, I've seen in another thread that changing regions is possible so could someone please show me how to change my firmware to a European version?
Thanks
ps: sorry if this thread already exists or if it's posted in the wrong area
I really don't recommend doing this as you will void the retailer's warranty.

In all honesty, I really don't mind
I plan to root afterwards anyway
idk how to do it but if you said there is another thread talking about it, then wouldnt it be easier to ask the question there?
It's too hard go do so.
But no one made a guide specifically for the honor 8. There's a similar guide for the 5x (Again don't try it as there's no guide for our device)

The problem is there's no method specifically for the honor 8, there's one for the honor 5x (I think it can work)
Make sure to backup EVERYTHING, if you want to do it
Hey, my s7 edge is not rooted yet should I root now?
Only root if you know what you want to do with it afterwards. Don't root for the sake of it if you know what I mean

I am going to try out some roms is it worth it or there is not any good roms yet?
I used to be a keen rooter and user of custom roms but I realised slowly you can achieve most of the desired benefits of rooting by not rooting. It depends on the person, but for me it was blocking ads and removing bloatware. Now you can get Package Disabler Pro which disables anything you want, and 3rd party apps like Adguard which block all ads also. And the added benefit of having a working Android Pay (Though it does work on rooted stock)
I want a pure stock android like lineage os should I root for this matter ?

Yup theres a lot of good stable ROMs though they may still be unofficial. Some ROMs even go up to having Nougat.
The best ROM out there is the SuperMan ROM though, a lot of features and liked by many.

did you spend any money?
I initially rooted the phone to try out different ROMS, xposed etc... but I'm now regretting it. I cannot use Samsung Pay, something that is generally used by most S7 users here in Korea and globally.

I should have said I stopped rooting on my previous s5.
So when I ran into major problems with this phone(s7 unrooted ), I had no problems getting it repaired by Samsung.
So no it didn't cost me anything.
If I did root I probably would have been screwed!!
So be aware, and think carefully if you need root.

That's tough to answer.....it's all a manner of opinion really. I had slightly better SOT though in emui 5 (since its running Android Nougat) where as emui 8 us Android Oreo. Truthfully I flashed an AOSP ROM after I upgraded to emui 8 because once you go to emui 8 / Android Oreo, it enables treble support. I'm not a big fan of emui in the first place though. However, the AOSP ROM's are newer so they are still wip when it comes to working 100% for the huawei mate 9.
May I ask what custom ROM you are using? And how do you find it? What's your SOT?

Download firmware from http://pro-teammt.ru/firmware-database/ (if available) and unpack update.app from update.zip
Open update.app in Huawei Update Extractor and extract ramdisk.img, this is the boot image file that magisk manager needs to patch.

Okay... Sorry for the delay.
You'll obviously have to go back to stock first. And then hisuite should work to upgrade to Oreo. Just trying to think what the best way to return to stock would be for your model version and get you upgraded to Oreo.
i see this requires Microsoft Windows. i only have Linux. any suggestions?

Too late... unless you've got a bootloader unlock code before July 24. Did you? I'll guess not, hence...no root for you, enjoy GPU Turbo and Pie (whenever that comes).
Hey there everyone, I'm looking at tutorials on how to root and they all mention other models of the phone that arent the GM1910. I'd really like to root this phone, but have seen issues with cell data and wifi if you use the wrong boot image.
What would be the best way to Root this guy, and still get all the OTA updates?
Additional info: I'm currently sitting on Oxygen OS 9.5.10.GM21AA
