Can note 5 on Verizon be rooted ? - Verizon Samsung Galaxy Note5

So after 2-3 miss leading threads here I would really like for anyone to clear out if verizon note that can be fully rooted and rooted enough to freeze apps
Because there is several threads about rooting but many people say is fake
Also is it better to update note 5 on Verizon to android 7.0 or keep it on android 6
Battery drain seems a bit high
Thanks if anyone helps

Verizon Note 5 cannot be rooted yet! Not even tether root! I downgraded back from Nougat to MM 6 because Nougat was giving me only 4 hours at most of screen on time and on MM 6 I get 6 to 8 hours.. If you need something to disable apps use Package Disabler from the Play Store it also needs PDP engine from the Play Store too in order to work.

Thanks a lot for quick response
Is that app on plastered better than native android disable app feature in application management?
Also if I decide to upgrade to android 7 should I do it over the air or with Odin for easier going back to mm just in case
Thanks for all help

How can I downgrade to MM from Nougat? Every time I I try to flash a MM official fw with odin it fails. I assume the bootloader is blocking the down rev?

Wow, that worked! Thanks
Now I need to bypass frp. It's a company phone I was given and the old employee is gone but it's still asking for his google account. I've tried so many methods are there any left that work for this version of MM?

[Q] Flashfire?

Do you think there is any hope of using flashfire to flash custom rooms for vzw note pro 12.2?
I used flashfire on my fiancés rooted vzw note 3 last night to flash the jasmine rom they have available, so since the note 3 has a locked bootloader as well I wondered if we could expect the same capabilities if roms were developed? The thread on flashfire says it's been used on a plethora of samsung devices...

Did you roll back to 4.4.4 and root then use Flashfire to come back up to lollipop and keep root for your note 4?
Lollipop for the Verizon Note Pro hasn't released in the US yet, but you were abe to use Flashfire to maintain root and hop up to lollipop on your tablet as well?
Thanks for the reply! Happy to know flashfire is an option!
You don't need to roll back.Just rooted lollipop and kitkat is upgradeble and downgrade also.I tried both and did work as well.Flashfire has auto root option itself and during flash injects supersu.
In both my devices works as it suppose to do.Just like old MobilOdin did.

Who's your carrier for your devices? As far as I know there isn't a permanent root method for Verizon Note 4. The king root has gained temp root for vzw note 4 but it's lost upon reboot and there isn't a way to replace their su with chainfires su.
As for the note pro lte with vzw there isn't an official lollipop update out for Verizon here in the US and no dev roms to go up to lollipop so I'm curious how you e managed to do this for both devices?

All my devices are unbranded. No carrier.I never bought device in my life attached to any carrier contract. It is against my nature.
I suppose that explain why I don't have problems so far.

Ah well that explains it then. Thanks for replying though I think I'm gonna start doing the same thing, I want to buy the new nexus they are releasing this year straight from Google and then have it activated by Verizon so I can have the unlocked bootloader and such.
Thanks for the help!

Should I Upgrade to Android 6.0?

So I have the 703L and the update is there but I am reluctant to upgrade to 6.0 because I heard a couple of people saying it was bad for battery and few other things.
Do you guys think I should hang onto the Android 5.0 or go ahead and upgrade??
Appreciate your opinions!
I reverted back to 5, since 6 was too buggy for me and the battery drain was definitely heavier than on 5. But some people here say, they have a longer battery life on 6, so you can't be sure. If you're satisfied with 5, then don't update, because reverting back to 5 from 6 is a pain.
I get with Android 6 about 7-10 hours SoT, dont have any bugs and Problems so far.
And a rollback is done on a few minutes with an open bootloader.

US GS7-s have locked bootloaders, which means we're unable to downgrade until bootloader keys are leaked or T-Mobile unlocks it for us, which probably will never happen.

I just downloaded the 6.0.1 image for g930T and flash it with ODIN and that's it, I'm on 6.0.1 again :d
Ya I have downgraded from 7.0 to 6.0.1 several times already with no problems. My issue is that Nougat rooted is very laggy so I been trying all sort of fixes like govtuner etc but it is still laggy
anyway, here is attached screenshot of how I downgrade quickly and easily on sm-g930t

How to root Canadian G955W, One UI version: 1.0, Android Version: 9, with BELL

I really want to root and I am searching online since 4 days but couldn't find any clear information that i can fallow (or because of my lack of knowledge)
I don't care if i need to downgrade, or give up from "fancy" features. All i want a control on a device that i pay thousand $.
So my s8+ has:
One UI version : 1
Android Version: 9
Baseband Version: G955WVLU5CSC1 with BELL
I am new to rooting but big supporting of Open software, and idea of meaning of actually owning a device.
Please help, or any direction.
Thanks.
I have been dreaming there would have a rooting method since 2017 ( I got the same phone as you but from Telus - I paid off and now switched to Rogers). As far as I know, since our phones' bootloader can't be unlocked, we can kiss goodbye for rooting. I told myself that being a two years old phone, if there would have a method it would have been surfaced. This S8+ would be my last Sam**** phone, I am preparing to sell it on eBay and switch to something like OnePlus ( they are the most easy phone to root).

After you get safe strap you can then do some magic a hacks and acheive a rooted nougat system. Again you cannot root oreo or pie with this method. But it does allow you to do 1 of 3 options. Root with nougat and rev 5 combo bootloader , install a oreo system and rev 5 oreo bootloader, or install pie with rev 5 bootloader. As of right now all 3 systems have a rev 5 bootloader

That's correct. I have a rom that I want to use that's on Marshmallow and since I know I can't downgrade from bootloader version 5 I'm sending this phone back that just got to my house today.
Edit: I know I said bootloader version 6 but I meant the first bootloader version with Android Marshmallow.

Yeah it sucks and everyone on Ebay and Amazon is claiming it is and it gets here on bootloader version 5 no where near Marshmallow! I figured I'd try here for a change since I know there's got to be some people like me that deal with phones every day and probably have one in a drawer somewhere! Hopefully anyway! Thanks though!
You might do some more research. I have heard that while Odin won't let you downgrade a bootloader, TWRP will. The "lock" isn't in the phone; it is in Odin. I haven't tried it (or needed to), so I'm not certain that it works. This means, of course, that you need to find a ROM (w/ bootloader) or standalone bootloader in TWRP zip format.
