The Gear S3 has the ability to customize the UI font via FlipFont, but unfortunately, the built-in fonts are garbage, and the ones that you can buy in the store are just as bad, with probably only Helvetica and Frutiger being any good. I was wondering if any developers here knew of a way to create your own custom FlipFonts? I know it was possible with Samsung's Android phones, but since the Gear runs Tizen, I'm sure the process would be different. Any help would be awesome, thanks!

Finally got my hands on my G Tablet today. I must have the newer one that Rushless mentioned...mine appeared to be a finished product right out of the box. Even the TNT UI seemed to work pretty well. I think it's got a little ways to go to be "great", but it was pretty good already.
Anyway, I installed TNT light after about an hour. I wanted the Android Market and wanted to see YouTube working. Rooting and installing the new ROM was easy, but it leaves me wanting a hybrid of the two interfaces. Most ROMS (maybe all ROMS?) are put together with the idea of running on a smartphone. The TNT UI from Viewsonic seemed to be pretty well thought out for use on a Tablet.
So, my question is this: Are there any Market apps that would mimic the homescreen layout of a tablet? I can't see staying with the TNT Lite UI because it's just like having a giant cell phone. Reminds me of those giant calculators you buy as a gag-gift for old people!
I like the flexibility of TNT Lite. Choose my own background, no restrictions for apps, Flash works, etc. But the layout isn't really "tablet-like".
What do you guys suggest for apps? Or, is there a way to recreate the panels that TNT has?
Thanks!
i think it may be nice to just find really nice widgets. you'll be able to build it all how you want and still have a fast and responsive ui
Agreed. But so far I haven't found any Widgets that are the right size for the G Tab. Anyone have any suggestions?
Maybe I should ask this another way (to hopefully get more responses ).
Is there a way to customize the stock TapNTap ROM that comes standard on the G Tab? It would be nice to have their panelled layout AND customize the background images, colors, etc.
I wonder how hard it would be for someone to develop a Froyo based ROM that is specifically made for a 10" tablet. I've done a little development in my past, but only Windows based stuff.
Have you tried Beautiful Widgets?
If you want a "tablet-like" UI. You can try one of those HC roms~
a HC rom is the way to go for the tablet-like UI, but search for keywords like "tablet" when in the android market for tablet supported apps

you really ressurected an 8 month old thread to give a guy advice on the UI? Countless roms and launchers have been developed since then, I sincerely doubt that he's still having issues 8 months later.
I'm wondering if you can change the theme of WP7 to the theme of like Android OS or iOS. Was looking around Youtube and found that if OS like Android can change their theme to WP7, why can't WP7 do the same too ?
From what I understand the homescreen is locked down, so this isn't possible. I remember seeing some gimick app that could fool others into thinking your WP7 device is an android but it didn't replace the homescreen.
Easiest solution is to buy a cheap android device.
blindpet is correct.
It just isn't possible to change the homescreen theme like that. It's all do with image branding on Microsoft's part (to make all devices recognisable) and also quality control (they know that the phone will behave itself in the current configuration but it may react differently if others, i.e. OEMs or users, start skinning it).
I'm coming straight from an iPhone user that loves to customize on my phone everything including keyboard layouts, icons, themes, and anything that's UI related that I can just download and install with simple instructions.
Can anyone tell/teach me how I can do the same with my Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 that is currently using CM10 Nightlies. I know there's themes from various launchers but all of the themes offered don't suit my needs for building a minimalistic UI, much like the ones users submit on Screenlicious.com. There's also ROMs and Kernels but all of this is relatively new terms to me and I would like to learn it all and if possible, become a theme maker myself if it's not out of my reach. Comprehensive tutorial links would help. Thank you and sorry for being a big newbie.

Well if you are from iPhone then I suggest learning the Android related things
custom kernel=> better performance, battery, overclocking CPU
custom rom=> customized stock rom I.e deleted crappy apps, themed stock rom and added tweaks
if you are planning on making themes then you should know that CM has an inbuilt theme changer app. To change themes you have to install a theme apk and then change the ttheme from theme manager app. To make themes apk u have to change mainly framework.apk and SystemUi.apk
Or else you can make a flashable zip and pack your themed apps inside that zip
hello!
Was wondering if there was a way, or an app/hack available to tweak some small ui elements w/out root...
Love my phone, but there are a few things that I don't like at all and want to change, such as some of the colors (ie. on calender)
Stock system, not rooted (yet =]
huawei G610-U200
There are stock themes on the phone, but they don't change the system ui itself, just icons and such (should these themes change other elements as well? My old htc themes did. If so, them maybe that would do the trick- but they are not changing system colors etc.
btw, any chance thre will be a dedicated forum to this phone any time soon?
Also, if and when I do decide to root, I want to make sure there are some solid roms/kernels avail. for this model- so far I have not found much-
Does anyone know of any out there besides MIUI?
Thanks.

XBlast tools may help. But root is needed at first to install xposed framework.
so i searched on google and all i can find are useless articles on how to enable emoji on android.. i already have emoji (not sure if they came with the S7 or my Swype keyboard), but i do have them.. i see lots of people use emoji like flags and activity emojis that i don't have. is there some kind of zip i can flash with newer emojis or what? my S7 is tmobile and is not rooted if that helps.
thanks a lot!
Unfortunately being unrooted means there isn't much you can do. You can't change the system emoji at all unless you're rooted.
Some apps (such a Textra) come with their own, more comprehensive, set of emoji but it's limited to within that app.

if i root, what are my options?
There's info here:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s7/how-to/request-replace-samsung-emojis-google-t3373966
Samsung updated their emoji on nougat, and even though we still can't change the body color, all the new emojis introduced on iOS are here. I'm an emoji freak, and for the first time I am pleased with samsung's work on that field. On samsung's keyboard, long hold the gear button (left from the space), and select emoji.
Samsung's emoji's suck, why can't they just use the unicode ones? They're too cartoonified for my liking.
