phone shutting down - power button stuck?

I have a Fuze that wants to shutdown all the time. I usually run EnergyRom on it and the slide to shutdown screen keeps popping up. When I run a stock rom on it, it also shuts down, as if someones holding the power button.
has anyone ran into this issue or have any idea how to fix it? I've searched for a while and can't find anything.
thanks!
Opening up the phone enough to get to the point that you can remove the power button itself and clean that area of the phone should fix the problem.
This even helped me on my previous phone where I thought the button was losing sensitivity. After reassembly the button worked beautifully again.
I had the same problem...and then all of a sudden my power button stopped working altogether...its weird because it works fine to turn the phone on, but once it boots it doesnt turn off the screen or bring up the shut down menu or anything
how did you manage to remove it to clean it out?

[Q] Waking the Gtablet

Anyone else having issue waking the tablet by pressing the power button? I'd say about 50%, I cannot wake it by simply pressing the power button. The device ends up getting turned off and I have to turn it back on again.
Same here, but now Im used to turn it on by pressing the volume buttons instead... However this didnt happen on my original TnT rom...
For me it happened both on the stock TnT rom, and still on the custom TnT Lite I am currently on. It's about 50% hit or miss.
+1. And sometimes, when I hit the power to wake it up, the shutdown screen appears. I just cancel out of it, but still. Weird.

Hard shut down

I need to send my xoom into motorola for repair and it has a video lockup issue where its not allowing me to shut it down. When i do get to the home screen it usually freezes and bootloops. Is there a way to kill it to make sure its turned off so I can send it in?
Other then the power button, there ins't really a way. Just let the battery die, it will shut off
Have you tried holding up the "power" and "volume up" buttons at the same time. That worked for me on a similar situation

Phone won't boot up

I have researched the "related threads" and none are similar to the issue I am having.
The phone turned off midcall and fails to turn on afterwards. I thought it was the battery, but it still fails to turn on after charging over night.
It boots up to show the logo, after a battery pull and turns back off.
If I I press down the power button + down volume+ menu, I get the warning about a custom install of an OS may damage the phone and if i want to continue to press the volume up, or cancel.
The phone only lasts about 5 seconds, after every battery pull, other wise it won't turn on again.
I haven't gotten a blank white screen nor the Android logo.
Thank you.
Update: I believe I confirmed it is a power button issue.
What I used to confirm it was pressing the volume down button and menu without the power button and was able to see the Warning as if I had pressed all three. Also, the phone vibrates as soon as I place in the battery.
Issue now is: Supposedly the cause is due to a stuck power button, but physically the power button is not stuck. It clicks when pressed.

Question Phone Randomly Powers Off (I Have to Manually Turn It Back On)

It usually happens when I haven't used the phone for an hour or two and I usually have to hold the power button for about 15 seconds for it to turn back on.
Does anyone else have this issue? I see a 'reboot' thread but in my case it turns off and doesn't turn back on. Do you guys think this is a hardware issue?
Everything is stock.
