Hello guys. I am a new honor user. Coming from samsung and sony i have rooted my honor 8 premium and installed twrp. Now my question is: can i use honor 8 pre-rooted and custom roms and kernels for my device? The only difference is the storage, right?! So it should work on honor 8 premium, right? I am on emui 4.1 and wanna install the new version.

Just check your model number before you try, (should be either FRD-L19, FRD-L14 or FRD-AL10) and make sure it's supported.

Have 2 give more information what model do u have, what ROM are you on, is your bootloader unlock
what is ur current software version (about phone>>build number) and is ur phone rooted or not

Dude are you kidding?
Honor has abandoned our device long ago many of the users are even stuck with Kitkat version.(As the MM update is not available through OTA in some regions but manual update possible)
Even similar device P8 lite with 2 years updates guaranteed wont get Nougat official update.
Dont keep hope for Official Nougat update just move on.
If you really wish to have Nougat builds on your device try customs Roms from P8 Lite thread.
PS: Don't bother the devs as the device is not officially supported by them , you can use most of the features but few bugs are present for Nougat builds but MM builds works fine .

you can try nougat from LineageOS but it has bugs.

Same chipset doesnt mean we can install ROMs vice versa .
There are also some other factors will are required in order to do so.
I have no idea regarding honor 8 and mate 8

Mist , we can port roms from same chipset . If all specs are similar we can flash its roms on one anothers
Yes if specs are same we can but if they arent you have to make some complex ports thats what I meant.

But we have not got complete sources for this device so that option is out of question.
Yeah .. we can even port for a fully working wrong but that will be pretty hard.
Devs like surdu,Xepeleato,olddroid are finding it difficult for this device without sources so its out of my capability.So no hope for me.
Its hard to build a rom without kernel sources. But a rom can be build using prebuild kernel if u may not know.
Before honor released kernel sources , surdu build cm14.1 using stock kernel.

Hi Im Currently using the honor 8 FRD-L02 which is the indian variant of the Huawei Honor 8. I have been trying to find a rooting guide for my device since ive bought it, but havent been able to find any for the FRD-L02 variant. If anyone does have any idea how to go about it, please let me know ASAP.

Flash the above twrp and get the root by magisk, it was good and you can also use modules.

My Honor 8 is Dual Sim, 32 GB Internal Memory, 4 GB RAM and Android 7.0. My phone is not rooted.
Please help me with proper guide.

You can use that method to rebrand your phone to any brand you like. I think that the Huawei Multi-Tool found here will do the job.

How to unlock boot-loader??? I mean boot-loader key, Huawei disable the service to get boot-loader key. Where I find for free???
As far as I know there is no free unlock since Huawei closed the service.
