Android lineage OS Source Code

I want to understand the complete structure of Lineage OS source code. I have a copy of source code for Naugat and want to go through it fully.
Is there any documentation or help available to understand OS source tree structure?

[Q] Building first ROM from AOSP non Nexus, a couple of questions

Hi all,
I want to build my first rom. I'm a software developer (Java and Web), but my Linux knowledge is somewhat intermediate.
I have a Moto G4 Plus laying around. Here's what I have done so far:
1. Downloaded the AOSP source from Google for android-7.0.0_r15 (Nougat)
2. Found the Kernel Source for the Moto G4 Plus (Nougat)
I'm stuck at adding the device's kernel source to the AOSP source. How do I combine the two?
Here's the link for the kernel source: https://github.com/MotorolaMobilityLLC/kernel-msm/releases/tag/MMI-NPJS25.93-14-10
I've tried looking this up online but the results are very limited.
As far as I understand this kernel source provides everything I need to make the ROM compatible with my device, right?
Could someone point me to the right direction?
Much appreciated.

Can someone port project treble rom for mi4i?

Most of the under rated xiaomi phones like redmi 4, 4x etc. all have project treble ported for these devices. Why cant mi4i have the same? If someone can port project treble rom and twrp recovery (redwolf) that supports project treble then I would be grateful.
Thank you.

Traditionally the OS framework and low-level software were all part of the same code. So when the OS got updated, this low-level software technically referred to as vendor implementation—also had to get updated. That’s a lot of work. Hence lead to android fragmentation.
So in order to curb this problem to some extend Google introduces Project Treble, starting with Android 8.x (Oreo),the core hardware code is separate from the OS code, device manufacturers will be free to update their software without having to wait for the silicon maker to also update its code.
In simple term it is somewhat like installing windows OS where you just install it and the drivers are installed separately( here in project treble the vendor partition has the drivers needed for that device)
We only got like 2 devs that work on ferrari once in a blue moon. The main guy who maintain trees is currently busy with life. You should use miui or get a new phone.

Need for source code

I have decided to stick with MIUI to source code becomes available to developers.
While I admire custom ROM development so far: there seem to be a lot of bugs an limitations that developers are all saying are the result of not having source code.
Does anyone have a probable date on the release of source code for the Poco X3 an X3 NFC?
Source code may help with GSI an F2FS development for our device for instance?

[ROM][OFFICIAL][7.1.2] Lineage OS 14.1 for Samsung Galaxy Note 2 (*t0tle)

What is lineage OS?
LineageOS is an operating system for smartphones, tablet computers, and set-top boxes, based on Android with mostly free and open-source software. It is the successor to the custom ROM CyanogenMod, from which it was forked in December 2016 when Cyanogen Inc. announced it was discontinuing development and shut down the infrastructure behind the project. Since Cyanogen Inc. retained the rights to the Cyanogen name, the project rebranded its fork as Lineage OS.
LineageOS was officially launched on 24 December 2016, with the source code available on both GitHub and GitLab. As with all versions of Android, operating system releases are specific to a single model. Since its launch, LineageOS development builds are available for 109 phone model with over 1.7 million active installs, having doubled its user base in the months February–March 2017.
