No. You need to downgrade to 20a to root. I recommend using LGUP and following the LGUP directions on the 20a thread.

What android version is it as with Android 4.4.2 you can use towel root. If it is on 4.4.4 I'm not sure if there is a root method yet.

In that case I'm afraid its just a case of wait and watch for a root method. As far as I'm aware towel root is the onlt method at the moment.
Just like the title says. Anyone know how to root d850 and install twrp? Im on 6.0 and cant find a link on how to root. Will i have to downgrade to KK first?

This has been discussed and answered many times in these forums. But i will answer: No you can't perma root MM. You have to downgrade. Please search and read

I've recently got an LG G5. I used to have the LG G2. Having said that, I dropped my G2 and the screen was damaged. T Mobile sent the LG G5 as a replacement.
I would like to root my LG G5. I just lack the know how on how to do it with Android Nougat 7.0
I'll be glad to hear from any of you.

Would love root option for 7.0 since I need to get Titanium backup on it to recover some data. It seems it's not so easy to root G5 in general, all versions. G4 and below were so easy.

Make sure you read the threads to downgrade to 20A first if you're on anything later than that before you can actually follow those guides to root and get TWRP.
How do you know if you have 20A or 20C? I appreciate the links to help root my g5. I've attached my About phone info if that would help.

You're on 20f. It's the last three characters of the software version.

How a lot of phones are getting nowadays. But just downgrade to 20A and root from there by following those guides.

If it says invalid kdz file check that md5 of downloaded kdz is same as what is posted on the thread with the kdz, if not re-download it. Otherwise try using uppercut to flash it (search main g5 XDA fourm for uppercut thread).

I'm going to root my G5 and by reading the threads i figured out that i have to downgrade to 20a in order to root my phone ( im running on 20c currently).
Do i have to downgrade? If yes, how?
I know i have to use "LG Up" but i couldn't find a good place for downloading the 20a flashable zip.

Yes, you must downgrade to 20A to root and install TWRP.

Download the 20A kdz from that link and install using LG UP. Once you're running 20A, use the following link to install TWRP and root:

nope. it will stay locked. best way is to have it unlocked by TMO or some 3rd party unlocking services. Mine is sim locked too.
