Is there any chance to see here in the future both of them ? Higher Volume and better sound will be great on this phone. And also much better camera. Because I think HTC U11 have more potential.
I am curious if it is possible to somehow enable 60 fps video recording. That would be awesome.

Maybe we should wait for the first OTA to hit. It adresses a lot of things as e.g. camera, system (PlayStore verification), Edge Sense optimization, and others.
I'm quite sure there will be further camera and audio mods once the device hit all doorsteps of our fellow developers of such mods.
On the other hand you could try Ainur Audio. I'm running it on my HTC 10 and am really loving it. Just search XDA for it and you'll find the thread by @UltraM8.

You'd need an unlocked bootloader to boot to TWRP. Thus you can install Magisk and Magisk Manager as well as to flash the above mentioned audio mod. This mod will recognize Magisk during installation process and install as a systemless Magisk Module.

I must have magisk ? Or is it something optional? Because I don't know what magisk is ?

It's optional. At least you need TWRP to flash it. Magisk would be the way to flash it systemless.

Sauron should work on 11 for sure (there might be magisk bugs, tho, but they are not related to mod). Sadly, htc didn't wanted to mess around SRS, the way they did it with bolt & U ultra - i was expecting it, lol)
Speaking of camera - i need someone to pack me most recent camera libs from /vendor/lib (ALL those "chromatics" libs). I will ask my friend to look into it.

For those of you that don't know Viper4Android is the probably the best sound mod you can do on any android phone, I can confirm that it works on the Note 5 as my listening experience in the car has greatly improved
Prerequisites
-Must be rooted
-Skyhigh or arter97 kernel flashed
-If no custom kernel is flashed selinux must be set to permissive using the selinux app found here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2524485
-Download Viper4Android from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2191223
Steps
1. Download and install this zip through recovery http://forum.xda-developers.com/att...achment.php?attachmentid=3470840&d=1442036930 (Credits to Critical Detox for finding it)
2. Launch Viper4Android and install the driver and reboot
2a. I highly recommend using this IRS. http://d-h.st/VBM
That should be it to get it working, S6 users have commented that you have to freeze a couple of apps for it to work but I can confirm that's not the case. If you have any questions or need suggestions feel free to ask

I have had this working on every device, previously the S6 using a flashable zip.
Now I cannot get it to process when clicking on driver status it usually says "yes".
I am using a deodexed tmobile rom with Noble kernel. The SELINUX changer says I am permissive but viper4android doesnt want to work.
Any suggestions?
Thanks

Interesting. Are you running in compatible mode, then?
I envy all of you for getting to use Viper, I'm trying my best to hold out until I can try Samsung pay beta/release which ever comes first to me then I'll decide to root only after.
I've been wondering this for a while now. I noticed in the OP, there was a choice to use a custom kernel or stay with the stock one. Obviously, we need root to get Viper working BUT do we really need a custom kernel to root 5.1.1. On the Note 5? I'm asking because BOTH of my cars miss Viper from my Note 4 and I'm hearing the current Kernels are causing a few issues with the Note 5, thanks!

You can root using the Noble Kernel which is pretty much a stock kernel and then use the selinux app to change the kernel to permissive.

Thanks for the reply, Adolfo. Are you having any issues with the Noble Kernel? People are reporting things like battery drain, rebooting and or loss of certain features, Netflix not work, etc. I miss Viper but I would like to know that my phone would be fully functional after root. Also, it seems as if only a few Kernels work with the new firmware that was released yesterday.
Keeps getting more complicated. haha.

While I appreciate the help, Brava, I was responding to Adolfo's recommendation of using the Noble kernel due to it being close to stock. My question was if he's having any issues with that Kernel.
I've used Viper since it's inception so I'm fully aware that it has nothing to do with any of the aforementioned symptoms.
Thanks though.
I am coming a Samsung Note Family starting from note 1 and now note 5.
My friend has a nexus device and finally decided to Root the device, So I went trough the tutorials threads in understanding the process of Rooting.
Finally with the help of Nexus Tool Kit, I managed to Unlock the boot loader, Root, Flash Twrp.
in last 1 week I managed to try Pure Nexus & Chorma.
Initial impressions after setting up the ROM
Customization
Battery Life improved
Performance of the device improved
Few things which I felt were better on Stock Rom is
Camera Quality- For some reason on Custom Roms I dont see the stock Camera quality.
Edit: Found V4a
Sound Quality- Stock Sound was much better unless I've missed some mods, Also Does these roms support V4a, If yes could somebody link me a thread where I can find the Tutorial.
Apologies Guys I posted this in General, My Bad i thought I am creating this thread in Q & A. I've asked the Mods to move this thread to Q&A Section.

I didn't stay on stock for a long time but I do feel a difference depending on the camera app. Camera MX is the best for my needs.
About V4A, it's working fine on custom roms that use the SELinux permissive mode. You have to use a script or a modded V4A apk to enjoy this mod with enforcing mode.
However this is not related to the Nexus 5 AFAIK.
V4A is perfect on my end but you can find other audio mods like Dolby Atmos in the Android Apps sub forum or links withing the V4A official thread.

Are you using the apk from the official thread or a modded one? V4A should be installed into /system/priv-app.
In the kernel folder (sdcard/ViPER4Android/Kernel), you only have irs files.
You may want to check this out.
EDIT: there's also a couple threads about V4A in our N5 themes & apps section

I would try another version of it after removing the current one by booting to recovery and running the install script.
The one that worked best for me included both atmos 6.5 and viperx in one module, though I forget what it was named exactly within, magisk. You can find it by reading the descriptions if nothing else.

Is it a major difference in sound when using dolby? The sound in my u11 is ok from the speakers but it wasn't what i expected.
It really depends on how you are listening, what version you get working, and your subjective experience.
For me, using the version I described above, with a pair of Sony MR1BT (quite old now) there was a very significant positive difference. I could only get them to work through Bluetooth though.
I imagine that while using the speakers instead of headphones the positive change would be diminished significantly

You need to unlock bootloader first.
For viper4android.
1. Install magisk and then go to modules search for viper4android FX legacy install and reboot.
For gcam.
I would suggest wait for few more days as it is not stable yet someone correct me if I'm wrong. But there is testing going on for gcam soon we will see for oneplus 7.
And what more you need?
Oxygen OS as it is optimized and contains almost every feature. If you wait for few days or maybe weeks or months we will hopefully have custom rom.
I hoped i answered your question.
Thank you

This is a 3in1 Magisk audio modification that enhances your audio quality and volume.
If you're using RUI please go to this thread. My guide can only be used on custom ROMs.
I'm not going to write a detailed tutorial or bother putting hours of energy into formatting this post unlike my previous guides. Say thanks for this to XDA mods and rules which try to isolate XDA from other development platforms such as 4pda or Telegram. Most of development for this device happens there. You can't even share links here so if you wish to know more about this module or need help PM me on my Telegram profile which is visible on my XDA profile.
This mod is combination of:
Viper4Android, DolbyAtmos and ICEpower. All this was made to be compatible by building it upon the ACDB module and ViPER | Atmos mod. You can read more about them by clicking on their names.
Installation: Flash them as Magisk module from Magisk manager.
Don't forget to disable/freeze your ROM's stock Music FX or Audio FX manager and if you have com.lineageos.settings a.k.a Advanced Settings.
Uninstallation: Just remove from Magisk modules.
Tested: Pixel Experience+ Android 10, Realme Q.
Disclaimer: I have nothing to do with these modules and I didn't made them. The original creator/creators are available in the clickable links. The modules should check for compatibility and shouldn't install unless your devcie/system is compatible. Nevertheless I don't take any responsibility for what damage or issues it might cause for you. You decide to install it, your responsibility. Furthermore I don't recommend installing these modules on COS/RUI or the ROMs based on them for their vendor/system is heavily modified thus differs greatly from generic Android system.

Since latest AML Magisk module supports ACDB type sound mods you first have to download and install it from Magisk modules repo in case you wish to use these versions but I'll upload it here too nevertheless:

View attachment ICEsound-0.4-ACDB.zip(Mirror#1,Mirror#2,Mirror#3)<-- According to more experienced audio module users ICE is unnecessary if you use Dolby Atmos + Viper FX but you're free to use the three together.
Some reported that AML sometimes isn't as compatible yet with these modules so there are people who prefer View attachment ACDB-0.48.zip instead. Installation process is the same. Flash them in this order: ACDB>Dolby or Viper>ICE if you want to.

No, you don't need aml module for Redux 0.02 version. ACDB module is a brilliant and simple alternative for that and the module has it inbuilt. I believe it should work on enforcing but I can't know for I always use my ROMs with permissive selinux if not I'll flash Permissiver.zip.
I don't know whether or not should this module work on stock ROM but my guess is that it doesn't. Cos/rui has serious limitations and differences from generic Android vendor/system. This module was made to be compatible with most devices with simple android. It should work on most Android 10 based custom ROMs and probably it works on Android 9 based custom ROMs too.

Yes, I've it now added to main post in Disclaimer paragraph too. I wish I could but I'm no developer and seriously bad at scripting because I've mental problems making it highly unlikely for me to achieve progress in development. RUI is quite new and even for experienced developers it is difficult to make things work on RUI. Maybe with time Dolby and Viper will be available for RUI based ROMs too but I can't promise it.

Viper works on evolution, dolby atmos does not work (there is an icon, and when you click on it nothing happens). But the problem arose that there was a wild over-amplification of the sound in the headphones and it began to wheeze strongly at maximum values. How can I make the sound quieter back? Editing mixer files does not help and removing the mod does too. PS. I am writing through a translator

Idk what caused the problem but the issue should have been gone with ROM flash. Even disabling them from Magisk ought to solve it for they're just systemless Magisk modules. If Magisk is removed or modules are disabled they have nothing to do with system. So the issue probably lies somewhere else. Try clean flashing your ROM by: 1) full wipe except external SD 2) flash Rui firmware only 3) flash custom rom 4) Flash Magisk
The issue should be gone. If not it's not a module related issue and I can't really help you.
If dolby can't open with Audio Modification Library
To install
- Flash ACBD-0.48.zip ( flash with add module in magisk)
- Reboot
Flash Dolby or Viper ( flash with add module in magisk)
- Reboot
- Done
