Yes, I imagined that, but I heard that this device has a sim card embedded inside it. Does the T-Mobile version use conventional SIM cards?

You are correct. The SIM in the T-Mobile version is an e-SIM, embedded in the watch.

Looks like a similar port to what they found on the S3:
I'm really curious if that's a way to access it through a cable, it would unlock a few potential things. I'm mostly interested in an offline way to reprogram the esim, so you can use it in countries that don't support OTA programming. Buy a sim card, copy sim card to esim, restart, done? Maybe wishful thinking, but would be totally awesome.

What will happen? Will the phone activate just like on AT&T? I know you cant switch back and forth with an iPhone since its all 3G CDMA etc... but will the sim chip change that? Can you hot swap?
It should, from what I heard, work like any other GSM phone.
So yea, your SIM should make you be able to make calls, text and data on the Charge.
Yes you are correct

You still must register the device in their system. However, once you do, its all activated.
Is there a reference, like a white paper or a tech spec that can actually answer this question? This Tbolt is not the first Verizon phone I've had with a SIM card, and just like this thing, they worked just fine without the thing. How do calling functions transfer with the card when it has nothing to do with the SIM card or LTE?

Per Verizon Website:
http://support.vzw.com/clc/faqs/VZAccess/4g_sim_card.html
Yes. You may activate any 4G LTE device that has been certified by Verizon Wireless to be compatible with our 4G LTE network, including devices not purchased directly from Verizon Wireless. Simply activate your 4G SIM card on a Verizon Wireless price plan.
I don't see anything that say you have to activate the device only the sim card.

I have done this numerous times. Just insert SIM and you can instantly make a test call.

Is it possible to flash, with a custom ROM, a Sprint Galaxy SIII over to Verizon or am I dreaming?

GSM? My Sprint SGSIII does not have a sim card. But I will go see what you're referring to. Thanks.

Unfortunately the sim card for the sprint version is internal so that wouldn't work for sprint phones.

It won't happen, unless you have an in with someone in Verizon that can add your ESN to the system manually (not bloody likely), the ability to flash a Verizon ROM on your phone (difficult, but not impossible, but a fast way to a softbrick), the ability to unsolder the Sprint LTE SIM from the phone and replace it with a Verizon one, and the ability to live without LTE for the life of the phone.

Well, that doesn't sound very appealing, living without LTE. But heck, I can't use it now anyway since Sprint's LTE service is up in almost NO locations

Exactly why I switched to Verizon I was tired off having a 3g only phone

much easier to just sell the Sprint one, turn around and buy a Verizon one
My phone (4.1.2) has the NFC sim but when I run Isis it says phone not supported, can't read element id. I have not rooted or unlocked this phone but it is not new so how can I tell if perhaps the phone has been altered and thus Isis is rejecting it?

Well don't look on the web to see a pic of the difference between the LTE sim and the NFC sim it is wrong. What is needed is NFC on the sim instead of 3FF.
The CSR SWORE she was sending me the right sim card.

Well GW was easier to set up than Isis, Isis had to do a verification process twice to add a card PITA.
Other than that, tap and pay is tap and pay.
Just throwing this out there: the SIM has absolutely NOTHING to do with NFC.

You're incredibly wrong. ISIS relies on a secure element that's built into special SIM cards. Without that SIM, your NFC payments will not work.
I was thinking about getting a used phone and I was wondering if I would have to go to the Verizon Store in order to activate it or could I just throw my SIM in it?
Uhhhh, what phone and service do you have now and are you switching to Verizon or what ?
Verizon doesn't use SIM cards, they use CDMA. Some of their phones have embedded SIMs and maybe even full ones - but they won't get you on Verizon's actual network.
Pennycake is partially correct. If it's an LTE phone, it uses a SIM. If you are going from one LTE phone to another (assuming you aren't coming from another carrier or anything) you can pop your SIM into the new phone and boot up. Everything will work fine.
Their old phones didn't utilize a SIM except for international purposes on certain phones, but now most do and it makes switching phones as easy as the GSM carriers. Have fun!

I would be curious to hear how you guys are using this. I am carrying 2 phones, one work and one personal. Exchange on work phone. It would be nice to just carry one phone and maybe use GV for work messages.

I think the only option you have for both active is something like the Gmate or Socblue devices i've read about. They sell them on the same website but i've not used one myself

yeah S4 Chinese version is dual sim, perfect choice for 2 sim active
Absolutely, get the i9502, FTW!!!
this looks crazy awesome
Why would you go through the trouble of posting this video and asking for subscriptions when you do nothing to explain this is depth? Is the software on the phone already set up for this? How does the messaging app handle it? Is there any setup required?
do your phone have to be rooted or not to use it
I have this, 2 sim active, the only problem is it will only support GSM, data is usable, but you need to root or jailbreak for data, gmate promised a 3G version, but this was over a year ago.

Also if people are after a dual sim adapter, instead of paying the high price for the magicsim, go to ebay and get a iphone 4 or iphone 5 version for about 5-7USD, these will also work for android phone, I'm using one right now, no root is needed and supports data.
details on using it, when the dual sim adapter is connected, a icon will show up in the menu, this menu allows you to switch sim.
This is on my note 2, but all android will work.

I pass this on to friend that need this exactly. No fast data just 2 line's on one phone.

But the question is, could you use both phones at the same time with the dual sim adapter. How it works? How the phone discriminates both?

did you have to trim your sim card to fit the cards. does one card with adapter go in reg slaot and the other into extension or do both go into extension. will the extra stuff with sim inserted into sim slot damage sim slot on phone. looking at this and triple sim adapter for s4 and n3
For the adapter the main sim is the microsim that goes into the phone with one end of the adapter which goes under the microsim, the other end supports a full size sim, I actually have the ipnone 5 version so the size is slightly smaller, you should get the iphone 4 version, the fit into the sim slot on the phone will fit without any problem, as most sim sockets are made slightly thicker, about 0.1-2mm, as sim cards vary in thickness due to manufacture process.
As long as you have one microsim and one full size sim, you are ok, you do not need to alter it in anyway, if you do have different size sims like me, as shown in the photo's you can use sim adapters, data will work with either sim.
The photo's show some close shots of the adapter, even with the adapter in the slot, it is slightly loose, so I have used double sided tape as shown in the photo.
Triple sim
Dual sim
Triple sim, this one has been posted earlier, but opened.
